Anthony275 wrote: ive decided to go job hunting bc i need to get money the right way. i have narrowed it down to:
some organic food place thing
card store
k mart
suncoast
drycleaners

i already got denied from the videostore because im not 18, and from the gym. i refuse to try the supermarket because 80% of students in my school work there, cant do toys r us or homegoods
oh, im also trying to get hired along with my best friend.

any suggestions to where else i should look?

mckayleesmom replied: McDonalds hires everyone.. laugh.gif

jcc64 replied: Don't work in a drycleaners, hon. The chemicals are incredibly toxic.
Why is it a bad thing to work in a place where 80% of the students from your school work there as well? Wouldn't that make it more fun from a social perspective?
And what exactly did you mean by getting money "the right way"? Are you in organized crime?! rolling_smile.gif

Anthony275 replied:

well if i did work at the drycleaners i would just do the register
i dont want to work at a supermarket because then everybody will know everybody else's business, except just get paid for it. rolleyes.gif plus, theres already too many people working there

yes maybe. jk i just want to get paid doing something

mckayleesmom replied:
I worked in a hospital kitchen right after high school....I got paid pretty good and I loved it.

Anthony275 replied: funny that you say that, i volunteered at a hospital until i turned 17. i did the same things as the employees did, getting supplies and stuff, except i didnt get paid. except i got a man fired for harrassment towards myself and about 6 other kids!

mckayleesmom replied:
You get insurance if you are full time too.

Anthony275 replied: yeah but i can't do that stuff anymore, i swear everytime i went there i got sick

Sam & Abby's Mom replied:
oops -- I was gonna suggest dry cleaners -- the register. I had a friend who worked at a dry cleaners when we were in hs and she really liked it. From what I remember, I think it was pretty easy.

Calimama replied: Organic food place could be cool!

moped replied: Ha, McDonalds pays like $16 per hour here.......

I like the grocery store idea........I always wanted to work in a grocery store.

Anthony275 replied: i got an application from the website for the health food place, do i fill out each application one at a time or all of them at once? i dont want it to be that i get accepted to both and then have to turn one down over the other

i love how its less than 10 minutes from my house biggrin.gif

Hillbilly Housewife replied:
I'm moving to Calgary!! ohmy.gif

They pay the minimum wage here... which is still just over 8$ an hour. wink.gif

moped replied:
Well this city is stupid right now as I am sure you have heard.......it will even out soon I think. Housing and everything is CRAZY

sparkys2boys replied: No ideas for ya but I wanted to say GL with hunt!!

ZandersMama replied:
its 7.60 here sad.gif

mommy~to~a~bunch replied: Oh, go for the organic food place! Hopefully you'd get a discount too thumb.gif .

Anthony275 replied: there wasnt an age requirement on the forms, but i do know this girl was going to apply for it last year when she was 16 but she never got around to it... they'd hire me at 17 right?

yeah id get a discount but i dont buy anything from there anyway

mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: I worked at Sam Goody when I was your age. You would be good at that with all the music you know. My inlaws used to own an organic foods store and the baggers were always your age. They got paid pretty well. I worked there for a little while making gift baskets and it was a really good social environment. Great discounts on lunch. I also think it's a good idea for everyone to work in food service at least once in your life, so what about bussing tables? Or hotel work - good money in valet parking or baggage guy or room service.

PrairieMom replied:
vomit. Thats nearly what I make to run life support. huh.gif growl.gif

PrairieMom replied: I loved my fast food job. I worked at KFC for 4 years. laugh.gif I say go for the organinc foods place.

Anthony275 replied: its not really a food place, its vitamins and natural stuff like oils
rae, there are no hotels around in my town, and most resturants wont hire me

i just want something that will keep me doing something so i wont get distracted

HuskerMom replied: I don't really have any advice but good luck! Let us know when you find something!

My2Beauties replied: I worked at K-Mart when Iw as 15/16 and I liked it. Got fired from there laugh.gif but I liked it.
