You lot will NEVER believe - what Jason and I did this weekend!!!

Okay you lot might be a bit shocked by this, but you know how we were going away for the weekend and we had been getting a bit stressed by both our families (obviously mine, mainly) and were getting hassle about organising the wedding? Well we went away to this little place in the Peak District with Cassie, and obviously we spent a bit of time dicsussing the wedding, well neither of us were very enthusiastic about setting it up or the hassle we were getting about it (I really hope this makes sense). Anyway, the long and short of it is, on the Saturday we walked past a registry office and I said as a joke why don't we just get married now, me you and Cassie . . . Jason said okay only he wasn't joking, we talked about it then nipped in the registry office and got married! We had two people who were i the village as our witnesses (plus Cassie of course), and it only took a few minutes and now we're married! You lot are the first people I've told, obviously we're a bit worried about telling our families as I don't think they're going to be particularly impressed. I don't know what you lot think about all this but I am so excited! I'm Mrs Jason O'Connor officially!! Just off to change my ticker now! xx

I did the same i`ll tell you a little about my story:)

we were planing this big old wedding and everyone was always on our @ss about every thing and it got to were we just started hating the thought of having to wait it all out and not even enjoy the biggest day of our live. So Greg come in one day from work and said Baby lets do it (and i thought OK, cus i thought he meant to know hee hee)
Well he said that to but why don`t we just say F everyone right now and go get married, and i said ok, we talked about why some and we were both so stressed about every thing. Well it took us about a week we had to register and at that time do blood test (well we got married just after they stopped the blood test, but we still had to take a class and watch a movie) anyway their was a few people that were not all over us(my mom, dad, 2 of my sisters, brother, and 3 friends) but we didn`t even tell them until the last minute so everyone else would not find out. and boy were they all so mad, but oh well i was more happy doing it that way then i would have been doing the big wedding.
And i`m still not sorry after all these years

That is so cool! I'm really happy for you guys! I hope telling the families goes well. At least you don't have to worry about planning some big fancy wedding anymore. I could never do that, which is why ours was so simple.

If your family is really mad, you can still plan a sort of reception that everyone can attend. Much easier than planning the rest of it... Good for you

Oh that is just great! DH and I had a very small wedding in fact I called my Mom like 3 days before it happened. We got married in a partk by a notary with my parents and my roomate there. We are planning to have the big wedding someday, but I was glad that we didn't have to deal with all of the nonsense. I hope that your family is understanding. This affair should have been all about you guys in the first place.

Josie83 replied: Thanks everyone we are so excited about being married. As Cassie was seeing my sister told everyone (via phone, I didn't have time to visit them and am a coward!) we got married, the responses are mixed. My brothers and sisters and Jason's brothers are all so happy for us, as are Jason's parents altho they're a little upset they weren't there. My mother just went silent made some rude remark and hung up, o well at least maybe she'll leave us aloone for a bit. I had to change everything for my name yesterday and tell me school, its so exciting! I keep staring at my ring, its so strange. Cassie is still telling absolutely everyone . .. we are really excited. Thanks for your congrats and everything, we're so happy! I'm not that bothered about a big ceremony its the rest of our lives that matters! xx

She loves to tell ppl! I'm not sure if she understands exactly what's going on, but she keeps saying "Mummy and Daddy got married!" my sister apparently asked her if she knew what that meant and she said "They're forever!" how sweet is that xx
