You know what's gonna drive me bonkers?
Danalana wrote: Every day i think about how far I am....I'll wake up and think "I'm x weeks and x days!" Can anybody tell me if that sort of tapers off, or will I be counting until delivery? ("I'm 39 weeks and 4 days!")
tammyhopkins replied: After awhile you stop counting until it hits the 30 week mark then you start counting again.
A&A'smommy replied: yeah I did the same thing.... sucks cause it makes for SUCH a long pregancy
Mommy2Isabella replied: I did the first time around, for the first couple months ... then towards the end. I have vowed not to count and not to look at my ticker EVERYDAY ... lol I went from 4 weeks to 9 weeks in what seemed like a couple days
boyohboyohboy replied: I still look at my ticker each friday! and this is my third kid!
moped replied: I have quit counting already........
PrairieMom replied: i counted the whole time, but I went by weeks. My first goal was 12 weeks, (misscarage) then 24 weeks, ( viable baby if its born at this point) then 32 weeks, (can live with out life support ) then 35 weeks, (no ICN stay) then 37 weeks, (full term) Working in the medical field, I think of things in that way.
Another thing i wasn't prepared for was the anxiety of the whole thing. I knew that parents worried about their kids, but i had NO idea how bad it was going to be or how early it started! Every little thing had me totally freaked out.
alice&arik replied: I am counting by weeks, but it is pretty easy for me because every Monday is a new week. So tomorrow I will be 5 wks 1 day!
Did you notice that ours are only 2 days apart?
Mommy2BAK replied: Yes, counting definately makes for a very long pregnancy! You just gotta keep other stuff to occupy your mind, like names, and getting the nursery ready.
Danalana replied: My poor husband...I have been rattling things off that we need to get done. I know 7 months and twenty-something days is enough time, but it will go quickly....in retrospect, anyway.
Danalana replied: That's awesome!
indywndy_04 replied: What made my pregnancy seem to go by really fast is I would try not to see how far along I was, but try to focus more on having a doctor appt or whatever at 12 weeks, then an ultrasound at 20 weeks....tried to push time forward by focusing on upcoming events I guess you can say.
BUT NOW - OMG --- I AM SOOOOOOOOOO COUNTING EACH DAY!!!! LOL
Danalana replied: I can't believe how close you are!
lovemy2 replied: I never really counted until the end - but I am kind of a give it up to what you can't control kind of person so it didn't really bother me...in the end I counted cause all I wanted was that kid out of me.....I think that is why women can handle childbirth especially more than once - by the time the baby is due you could care less what you have to go through to get it out
Danalana replied: If men were the ones who had to have babies, we probably wouldn't have a lot of people...
lovemy2 replied: The world would have ended LOOOOOONG ago...........
2BMom replied: I did the same thing until I got past the 3 month mark. I think once I got past the first trimester I was able to calm down about how far along I am. I think those first 3 months are very tough because you hear of so many people losing babies during that time.
