When i got to the hospital my wife was crying and she was losing alot of blood. I guess it started as a trickle but she ended up soaking herself by the time she got to the hospital. They rushed her in to get an ultrasound and they saw both babies and both had heart beats. The first baby had a strong and healthy heartrate but baby B didnt' Its heartrate was really slow. So she had a stress test done and it showed baby b was in distress. No one knows what is causing the baby to drop its heartrate like that. there is no cord around the neck or anything. So she was immediately admitted to the hospital for complete bed rest! She stopped bleeding and the baby is still alive.Thank god! they are doing tests and such to try to see what is causing this to happen but still we are waiting for results. Before i came home to grab some clothes and update you all the doctor gave her another ultrasound and both babies are doing good. And baby b has a better and stronger heart rate. So we all are stumped on what is happening here. my wife is so scared right now. I am running out tomorrow to get her a labtop computer and the hospital put her in a private room and she can have internet access..dial up though..so she will get all set up for the internet by the end of the week. but until then i will update you all as much as i can! She is probably going to be on bedrest when she is discharged. but for the remainder of the week and weekend she is in the hospital. So we need all your well wishes and prayers! Yo all seem to be a great bunch of ladies and a great support system for my wife .... Thanks all in advance

jem0622 replied: Thank you for posting and updating. I was terribly worried after yesterday's post. I wanted to tell you that I found out (but not until I delivered) that I lost a twin around wks 6-8 (they think) but I delivered a very healthy, 8 lb 4 oz boy in January 2000. I was sad when I learned that there was another (I had a full, healthy, dual placenta at birth), but I found through research that vanishing twins are common (moreso than they thought before). 1 in 8 pregnancies starts as a twin pregnancy, but only 1/2 to 2/3 end up with two babies born alive.

I hope that the bedrest does keep this pregnancy viable and lots of strength and growth vibes for baby b.
