Yicky stretch marks. - Will I always have them?
pinka_star wrote: While I was pregnant with Emma I didn't watch what I ate and I really didn't exercise so I gained A LOT of weight (50 pounds) and got horrible stretch marks. Will I always have them or will they eventually go away? Is there something I could do to make them go away faster?
Kaitlin'smom replied: mine have fadded, there are several product out there some over the counter and one perscription that I know of. The one the doc can give you is expensive and they say you should not use it if you plan on having more kids. I have one product that did help just slacked of from it, I will look at home tongiht and let you know what it is.
MomToMany replied: I don't think they ever go completely away, but they should fade so you can barely see them. I don't know of anything to help them go away, either. I haven't got any stretch marks since PG with #2! But they are still very noticeable!
Sorry I don't have more ideas for you.
jen replied: I don't know, I have heard that you really can't do anything but maybe your doctor would have something that would help?? Let me know if you find something that works......I don't have any yet, I have been blessed I guess! or maybe I will get them these last weeks
pinka_star replied: Thanks for checking for me!! I know I'll probably have them forever, but I was just wondering if they will at least fade. Cause they're still pretty dark and it's been almost 10 months.
pinka_star replied: Hehe you HAVE been blessed. I just took full advantage of "cravings" and ate too much. I started getting stretch marks when I was about 5 months pregnant. So if you haven't gotten any yet, you probably won't. At least I hope not, they're horrible and icky!
Hillbilly Housewife replied: Here's what works for me:
I put my hands on my belly, and stretch it outwards, away fromn y belly button. When I do that, I can't see them anymore.
Course...it only lasts while I keep my hands there...
Kaitlin'smom replied: they do fade, mine are kinda white now. I was also told tannig helpes, I dunno if its true or not. I will look to see what it is and let you know.
jen replied: Thanks I hope not!!!! But if I do...oh well..........you are still beautiful and they will fade, that is good to know, right!!!
pinka_star replied: hahahaha!!! Yeah I do that too, too bad it doesn't stay! Pshhh!
pinka_star replied: Yeah I tried tanning right after I had Emma, but it seemed like it was making them darker. Maybe it was just my skin getting darker and I was getting paranoid and thought my stretch marks were. I think I'll try tanning again though. Might work this time.
pinka_star replied: Thank you!!!! I guess having stretch marks isn't THAT bad. At least I have a wonderful beautiful baby out of it.
aspenblue1 replied: also you can try that coca butter stuff and or Avon sells stuff that is supposed to help get rid of them.
pinka_star replied: Thanks, I'll look into those. Do you know if they work though?
Boys r us replied: 50 pounds? you've got nothing on me girl..I gained 80 Luckily most of it it came off right away! Anyhow..they do fade, I've not found much of anything that truely helps.
pinka_star replied: Oh wow, and I thought I gained a lot, heh. How big was your baby?
Boys r us replied: One thing that DOES help a little though...is getting your tummy toned! Do situps and tighten your stomach and that REALLY does help sort of tone down the stretch marks!
pinka_star replied: Thanks!! I'll try that too, that's one thing I really hate doing. But I'll do at least a few a day. I'm horrible at exercising.
MilMunchMOM replied: You are so funny!!! but truthfully thats all that works for me too. I gave up after #3.
kit_kats_mom replied: I still have a ton but they have lightened up a lot. Now they look like little strips of reflective tape all over my belly.
I seem to remember my mom's were the same. Very shiny. They about blinded you when she was at the beach and the sun hit them right. LOL
I'm so mean.
5littleladies replied: Lol-I had to look to see if mine were still there, and they are. I don't know if they ever go away, I know mine would be less noticable if I got rid of a roll or 2. Eventually you will probably hardly notice them.
pinka_star replied: hehehe! Yeah I think they'll always be there, but hopefully not so noticable. I should probably get rid of a roll or two too, hehe.
kimberley replied: LMBOROFL! ur too funny!
i haven't found the magic cure for them either. maybe if i keep having babies they will all turn into one big stretch mark and you won't be able to tell lol
coasterqueen replied: You all are cracking me up. What I miss when I have to work, lol. BTW, the OTC cream you can use to help reduce stretch mark visability is called Mederma. I found it at Walmart. It does help, but the only thing is you have to be religious in using it. It calls for using it 3 times a day every day for so long and you have to do it that way if you want it to work. I'm good about putting it on in morning but forget the other 2 times.
A&A'smommy replied: ME TOO! ME TOO I also gained 80 pounds and I have HORRIBLE stretch marks! I wish I was as pretty as you susie!!! Anyways some of mine have already faded.
pinka_star replied: Pshhh! I think you are VERY pretty.
Mom2Boyz replied: I know how you feel!!!! I got stretch marks EVERYWHERE when I was pg. They're on my belly, legs, arms, even on my knees!!!!!! lol. If you find some way to make them less noticable, let me know PLEASE
pinka_star replied: Yeah me too, I'm pretty much just one big stretch mark. If I find anything that helps I'll let you know for sure.
