It doesn't take long to fill those spaces and you will get so many calls after they are filled. Just keep a list of those names in case someone leaves. wink.gif

But congratulations!! I'm so glad this is working out for you! hug.gif

Is Jenna excited to have kids at home to play with?

mummy2girls replied:
has your wife done up flyers? thats what i did and i got some calls from those. what really got me kids is the agency! one thing i do when the parents come for a visit to see my dayhome.. is I sya hi to everyone introduce myself and jenna and then right away ask to hold the child( if its a baby) and if its older then i get down at thier level and talk with them. Alos.. have something out for the kids to play with so you can talk to the parents, even offer fruit or something.. these things are stuff parents really like to see...

Nathansmom replied: No one asked to hold Nathan when we were looking, that is a great idea! He wouldn't have liked it, but at least an effort would have been nice.

Boo&BugsMom replied:
Yep, flyers, newspaper ads, yard sign, signs for the van, flyers, brochures. My add hasn't run in the paper yet though, and that is where a lot of people look. I even have the local workforce dev. center giving out recommendations for me...I've got some good networking. It's just a strange situation because I have had the same families for over 2 years and have never needed to advertise until now. My issue is that I only take children who are 2 and older. I have had calls for babies, but I do not wish to enroll babies. I do a structured preschool and K readiness curriculum, and with babies and a big age gap, you really can't be as structured as I'd like to be. It's something I feel very strongly about, preparing a child for K, and it's my specialty so I'd like to keep doing that and I can't do that with babies in the house, unless it's my own. I run my house like a school pretty much. Coming from running a large childcare center, to my home, I wanted to keep that structure because I saw how important it was. I also wanted to keep that professionlism...my 30 page handbook of policies, etc. I'll stop rambling... blush.gif

The right family will come. I only need 1 more kid to feel comfortable financially. I know when I least expect it, it will happen. It always does.
