Well, when RA's was over hubby decided he would call me from the church and see if dd was done with the movie. Well, my 5 year old and 3 year old were fighting and I yelled "Tristan what are you doing to her?" My darling husband procedes to say "You're on speaker phone, I'd be quiet if I were you!" He had called me on speaker phone with a whole group of other parents of the youth standing there!!

I was furious!!

When I asked him why he had done that he said it was a frre country and he could do whatever he wants. He said he did nothing wrong, that I was the one yelling like a fool

I could just cry just thinking about it. It's not that I am embarrassed really, I didn't do anything that bad. It's the fact that he would talk to me like that. ("You're on speaker phone, I'd be quiet if I were you." I bet my friends thought he had lost his mind!

Boys r us replied: I think he should have just picked up the phone at that point, instead of leaving you on speaker phone!! I'm sorry!

PrairieMom replied: How rude to have you on speaker phone! My Hubby would be in soooooooooooooo much trouble when he got home! and what kind of an excuse is "its a free country"? in this country YOU have rights too. I'd be sooo mad.

sunshine girls replied: If it makes you feel better, I once rang my husband from my cell and said some naughty things to him before he told me he had me on speaker phone....and his friends were in the room.
He still brings it up sometimes even though it was ages ago.

I wouldn't worry about it to much, but it is annoying when you don't know your on speaker phone. All the other people there were parents, they'd understand

C&K*s Mommie replied: I get infuriated too when my DH calls me from the speakerphone on his cell. There is a slight 'enhancement' to the back ground noise that can sometimes give away the fact that I am on speaker. But I am just usually myself, hollering at the kids regardless!

But that was wrong of him to do that especially, I understand your POV. Sorry it happened, and hope you were abale to forgive him.

JAYMESMOM replied: That was rude. Speaker phone should not be used if there is a private conversation going on. A husband calling his wife is private, IMO. I am sorry. I am sure the other parents understand and most of the women probably would agree with you on it any day.

Plus, we must remember, he is only a man - he has genetics working against him. We must forgive them as they can be foolish and have no excuse except for that silly Y chromosome.

mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: My DH puts me on speaker all the time, so I'm a little more aware than I should be and believe me, I hate it...but I would be furious too if others were in the room. Even if he said it nicely, it would hurt my feelings that he didn't think to pickup the phone as soon as he heard my voice. And the free country remark is even more hurtful, so yes I would be mad. Sorry!
