Would you vote for Hillary Clinton... - As the 1st women President of the USA??
CAMSMOM1 wrote: I've been seeing on the news that Hillary Clinton is going to run for office during the next election, for President.
I think it would be awesome to have a female president, but I'm not a big fan of Hillary.
Would you vote for her if she does run for office?
Ann
~Roo'sMama~ replied: I wouldn't. Not because she's a woman but because of where she stands on a lot of issues. I don't know what I would do if a woman that I liked ran... I just don't know.
Kaitlin'smom replied: undecided. I sure would not want her hubby running around the white house again can that be part of the agreement if she were to run he cant come back?
C&K*s Mommie replied: Simply because she was a woman, and a woman with character & values for forgiving her cheating hubby--- SURE!!
But I am undecided because I have no idea where she stands on things. Well at least I am not sure what kind of smoke she will blow into our ear , as a politician running for the Presidency. At one time I actually believed there were some trustworthy politicians out there. Now I know better... .
PrairieMom replied: It depends on her stance on issues, and who she is running against. I think it would be cool to have a female President, but I wouldn't vote one in unless i agreed with where she stood on the issues.
DansMom replied: Undecided---it totally depends on who she's running against in the primaries and in the election. If she's the lesser of all evils, I'll vote for her as a loyal Democrat. But I'm looking for a true individual of either gender or any party to bring more integrity and unity to the country. I don't think Hillary is that person---republicans seem to hate her violently and would thwart her as much as possible, I imagine. I'm not a republican, but I think John McCain would have a better chance this time around for that party. And even though I don't like some of his positions, I like HIM. Does that make sense? I do actually believe he has moral leadership, integrity and emotional intelligence, an understanding of what life is like for middle class and poor people. I do NOT feel that way about anyone in the current administration.
TANNER'S MOM replied: Well I loved her husband as a president. I think he did great things for the country in ways people don't always acknowlegde. I don't think he was the moral president. Oh he could've just been the dumbest, the one who got caught. But I can't help but NOT be able to seperate her from all that mess.. you know!
I dont think it makes her a good wife just b/c she forgave him. I think it was a personal decision that was made in public of course.
luvmykids replied: ITA on the way republicans feel about her, and as a republican I can't speak for all but do not trust her and do not like HER. I don't so much feel she would be "thwarted" but politics have become so ugly that I don't think she'd stand a chance. But I know what you mean about John McCain, I would vote for someone of either party if I had a good feeling about their character.
coasterqueen replied: Mel - He's just the dumb one who got caught. We must not kid ourselves, politics is politics and that stuff goes on. We just don't hear of it that often .
Anyways, I would have to say no. Why? Because I'm a republican and can't vote for her based on the issues at hand.
I feel sad about that in ways because I really feel as a woman I should vote for a woman because I think it would be A W E S O M E to have a woman president. Who knows the country just might run better with one.
coasterqueen replied: Oh I agree, that's the other thing I do NOT trust her!
MichaelsMommy replied: I think shes smart and on the ball. Dispite her rep from her husband I think she would do a great job.
MommyToAshley replied: I would love to see a woman president... just not Hillary!!! But not because she is a democrat... she actually started out her political career as a republican. I would never vote for her because I think she is ineffective and makes a mess of anything she touches. Just look what she did for health care as the First Lady... can you imagine if she were The President. I would seriously consider moving to another country if she became President. (and that is no joke) With that being said, there are a few republicans I wouldn't want to see run either. However, I can't see any of them being worse than Hillary!
MyLuvBugs replied: I do believe that a woman should be president, but definately NOT her. JMO. Sorry.
punkeemunkee'smom replied: I would not vote for her based on her platform. Although I am a Republican I am not against voting across party lines IF I agreed with the canidates views and policy. Hillary is NOT that canidate!
Kentuckychick replied: I voted undecided myself... I'm a moderate myself and vote for a candidate only when I believe he is best for the office. This past election I had trouble voting for anyone! I'd have to see where she stood on the issues, who she was running against, etc, etc... but I must say, after witnessing what I've witnessed in the past 6 years... if she were running against ANY Bush... I'd vote for her in a heartbeat!!! We definitely don't need any more of 'them' in the whitehouse!!!
So let's just hope to GOD it's not her against Jeb
TLCDad replied: I voted undecided as well. As everyone knows I am very moderate.
What really bothers me about Hillary is how she changed alot of her views to be more moderate. While of course I like the moderate views, I wonder why she made such changes... which I feel is more political then how she actually feels.... she was republican then went democrat and now alot of her standings are closing the gap towards being a republican again. She is smart and although she changes her views slightly she knows how not be called a flipflop which opens up the trust issue.
Now if it was her against Cheney then I would almost positively vote Hillary for many reasons.
But if it were her against John McCain, as of now, I would pick McCain. I like him and although he is a Republican, I believe he is more independant or a very moral moderate democrat when it comes to views.
3xsthefun replied: No, I would not vote for her. And I am a democrat I would like to see a woman president someday. Just not her.
MomToJade&Jordan replied: I voted no. I would love to see a woman president, but not Hiliary.
SOUTHERN MOMMY replied: :dito:ITA and am not about to get on my->
Boys r us replied: yes I would! I personally feel like that is why the Democratic party offered up such a PUTZ for the presidency this term. B/c they want to let all of the loose ends of this war and the ongoing craziness of the Bush presidency fall in the lap of the republicans and then offer up a NEW FRESH FACE, with STRONG ideas to come in when things are a little more settled with the next election. Then the democrats can take pride in what a good job their president is doing. Plus, I think Bush's presidency approval rate will be at an all time low by the time he's done...so the country will REALLY be ready for a change from -anything bush- so the democratic party will already be one leg up.
gr33n3y3z replied: No Way!!!!!!!!!
I agree 100%
Maddie&EthansMom replied: Nope and for several of the reasons already listed.
ARGH!!! Thinking about all of this gives me a headache.
ions_momma replied: I agree, it would be nice to have a female president, but my vote would definately not be for Hilary Clinton!
A&A'smommy replied: HECK NO!!!!
lisar replied: I would not vote for her simply because of the issues that she has on guns. She wants to take all the guns out of homes. And I shoot alot in a sport form. I shoot shotguns at the clay targets. I shoot my 22 target pistol. I like it. And I dont want her to take that away from me or anyone who likes it. And that is one of her main goals if she gets into the whitehouse.
Lisa
CosmetologyMommy replied: I too think it would be great to see a women pres, but I don't think I want Hilary
holley79 replied: I wouldn't vote for her just because she is a woman. I have heard where she stands on a lot of issues and I don't agree with them. She can stay in NY.
I think Geena Davis is doing a darn fine job. LOL Just kidding.
MamaJAM replied: I wouldn't vote for Hillary Clinton if she was the only candidate. I would definately vote for a woman for president if I liked what she stood for...never just because the candidate was a woman.
DansMom replied: Can a Democrat choose a Republican for a running mate? I'm just curious if something like this has ever happened? I woke up from a dream at 4 am in which Barack Obama was running for president with John McCain as a running mate, and in the dream I thought Brilliant!!! Just Brilliant!!!
(Obama was on C-Span just as I was falling asleep, and I started thinking about how handsome and appealing he is, how I like what he says and how he says it, and maybe HE should run for president... )
huggybugboy replied: I voted undecided. Because, well, I'm undecided. I just don't know. I like the idea of a woman president. After all, didnt some country in Africa just vote in a woman president? We need one! But on the other hand, I can't stand Hillarys politics. But on yet another hand, (I wish I had three) even though I am a registered republican I can't stand John Mccain either. He just seems to wishy washy to me, although I dont claim to know anything about politics. I dunno, maybe I'll have to run.
jcc64 replied: Tracy- I believe the Kerry people may have approached John McCain last time around, so I guess that answers your question. I used to like him too, until he enthusiastically endorsed Bush the last time around. Made me want to puke, b/c I don't think he meant a word of it, and if he did, I hate him even more.
I agree with you, Rod. Her behavior, particularly concerning the Iraq war, has really irked me lately. She's definitely talking the talk of a moderate, which she obviously isn't. I happen to believe that in her heart, she is very liberal (which is a GOOD thing to me) and very much tuned into the concerns of the poor and the average middle class working person, especially women. I agree with much of what she once stood for, what she was once strong enough to say. Now she's spinning herself into something she clearly isn't, and no one likes to be deceived, to have their intelligence insulted. It's the classic pitfall of the Democrats, in an effort to broaden their appeal and the true reason I believe they can't win a national election, no matter who the candidate happens to be. It happened with Gore, it happened with Kerry, it'll happen with her. It makes me sick that the Republicans have been able to deceive the middle class into believing that it represents their best interests (and I'm strictly speaking about economic issues here, so please, no debates) when every policy, every bill, every decision is oriented towards the advancement of big business and the super rich. The very term "trickle down" is akin to getting pissed on. Is that all we aspire to? Anyway, this is a long way of saying that as a working, middle class mom, I believe Hillary Clinton understands my concerns, but I also believe she is utterly unelectable in the current political climate. Some of that is her fault, and some of that is the fault of her diabolical political enemies, of which she clearly has many.
jem0622 replied: It would be fun if Condoleeza Rice ran against her! Woo hoo! Girl power!
My2Beauties replied:
I couldn't have said it better! If anyone with the last name Bush runs in the 2008 election, I'm moving to Canada I can't stand that name anymore, I really dislike that man (I"m being nice here) with a passion!
