Wish me good luck tonight, please!!!
coasterqueen wrote: We are going to try AGAIN for the second time to go get Kylie's Christmas picture done tonight. If it doesn't work this time, I give up. We'll have to try to take something at home then. But we've tried that once and the pics didn't turn out good either. So we'll see.
So keep your fingers crossed and wish us luck!!!
MommyToAshley replied: GOOD LUCK!
Hopefully she will get a nap before hand.
I just had a thought, is there a toy or anything that Kylie always laughs at that you could take with you? I haven't had to do it with Ashley because she laughs at everything, but if I ever want her to smile all I have to do is hold up a picture of any baby. She LOVES pictures of babies and always giggles at them. You could put the object right above the camera person so it looks like she is smiling at the camera.
I hope it turns out well.
Schnoogly replied: Maybe get a new toy and bring it out right at the crucial moment. We've gone through a lot of new toys on our trips.
Or maybe get down on the floor and play with her there, right in front of the camera, and then just move aside to get the picture taken? Maybe suggest to the photographer that a posed picture might be too much for her? This is just what we would need to do.
Oh and a really good nap beforehand is key!!
~CrazieMama~ replied: Make sure she is wide awake. I made the mistake of trying to get Brianna's 16 month pics done right after she woke up. She screamed and cried the whole time. We managed to get a couple but not what I was hoping for. Have you tried dancing around and putting toys on your head? I know it sounds rediculous, but you know how babies love it when you make a fool out of yourself. HTH Good luck!!!
kimberley replied: lol good luck tonight! Kylie, smile big for the camera!
Kaitlin'smom replied: best of luck and all the suggestions are good, making whay you feel like is a fool will work. I used to work at a photography studio and one thing we did to help the kids was bubbles. I dunno if she has seen them, but you might take some and try that. Alot of our young kids had never seen them so they were amazed by them so we got some shots of them in amazement with bubbles in the pis and then they started to think they were funny espically when I tried to 'eat them'
I know we have given you a lot of helpful hints and not all will work, but pick a couple and try them!
I can waite to see them....~~~~good picture vibes~~~~
coasterqueen replied: Yeah, we've tried all her favorites Her FAV is ELMO and we brought everything ELMO last time with us and it didn't help. We even gave her fruit chews because they make her smile and dance (don't know why, silly child) but didn't work. I packed some of her favorite books to take with us tonight, so I hope those will work. If anything they can take her pic of her looking at her books.
coasterqueen replied: You know I think that's the problem with those photographers! They think they have to be posed starring at the camera smiling with their hands down, sitting just so so and it just rarely works for Kylie. I think they frustrate me more than anything. I've explained all this to each one before hand, but I guess tonight I will have to *drill* it in their head.
coasterqueen replied: Oh my! Everyone there knows who "WE" are. LOL. Last weekend when we went, DH and I were dancing around singing her favorite song "Wheels on the BUS", talking like ELMO, doing EVERYTHING we could think of including singing the Wiggles, etc and it didn't work. BUT we sure entertained EVERYONE else who was waiting to get Christmas pics done and the photographer in the next room even came out of the room while taking pics to see what was going on in our room. We definitely go down in the book of SILLY STUPID PARENTS. I laugh at it, but ya know I hate doing all that silly stuff when she doesn't even smile for the camera
coasterqueen replied: Ooooh maybe I should try that one. I'll see if I can get out at work here to find some. LOL. That might do it. She's seen bubbles, not too much reaction, but in a different setting it just might work. Thanks!
chloe&tysmommy replied: awe good luck with the pictures! Crossing my fingers for you
A&A'smommy replied: Good Luck!!!! I hope she decides to take the pictures for ya!!!!
Kaitlin'smom replied: I hope it works...it is what we used as a last resourt.
Best of luck and let me know how it goes.....I wish I could go and help, I know I could get that girl to smile.......
MomToMany replied: Oh, I sure hope everything goes well!! Good luck to you! Wish I could offer more advice, but there's not much I can add. And don't be afraid to tell the photographer not to wait for that *perfect* pose they always try to get, lol, cause it rarely happens. This really frustrated me when we got Hannah's 18 month pics done. I told her "what are you waiting for?" . When she looks halfway nice, take the picture! You can always try again! They must not have kids of their own because they just don't get it !
aspenblue1 replied: I hope everything goes well tonight.
coasterqueen replied: LOL. Oh there have been times I have just wanted to grab that darn thingie from their hand and start taking them myself.
Who knows still might happen tonight.
MommyToAshley replied: I saw a post from you and thought you were back already...LOL! I am anxious to hear how it goes. Be sure to post and let us know.
I have my fingers crossed for you!
