Will someone kick my DH?

See this is what I like about them as well!! They're classic just like Wil's name (William). I don't hate DH's choices, I actually like Ryan a lot, but I want a formal name like Wil's. That's why I LOVE Charles and I want MY WAY!!

DH doesn't like Charlie because it was a kid that used to pick on him!

I didn't get my way on either girl. If I had my way one of them would have been named Christianna. He wouldn't have it. So with Kylie we both chose 2 names we liked and then each one picked one of the other's that they really liked then we decided between the last two. With Megan Dh won that one, but it quickly grew on me during my pg. Actually I'm glad he won on Megan's because I ended up NOT liking my choice.

I told DH that I'm willing to do that as a matter of fact, but he still won't give in to any of mine for the first name!!! I thought I was the stubborn one!

Wil is named after DH - Richard William, so although we both agreed we wanted to carry on the name, I think I should get my way since we aren't having a girl we can call Rae, right?! DH actually suggested we call him Raymond in attempt to make me feel better...Sorry, but NO!

akelly replied: I know what you mean. I thought hubby and I would NEVER agree on names. We finally settled on Evan Alexander (or Evan Robert) for a boy.

But his choice for a girl is Amilee (A-may-lee or Am-i-lee depending on whether we want it to sounf French), I'm really not liking this. I'm thinking everyone will have trouble w/ how to pronounce it. I'm hoping he might rethink it, but he's realllly lovin' it.

Halo42101 replied: This is just a suggestion but perhaps you & your husband should write down all the names you both like, put them in a hat and whichever one you draw is what you will name the baby. And, if you have trouble deciding who should draw the name from the hat, flip a coin for heads or tails. Or... pick two names that you both love the most from your list and when the baby is born, decide when you see him for the first time.

My in-laws named their kids when they saw them, so maybe that's what we'll have to wait for. I just fear a "no-name" kid for several weeks after birth because we both are so stubborn!

ilovemybaby replied: Who chose Wills name? I think that if he did then it is your turn to choose and vice versa. But I only say this because I think all those names are fine. If he wanted to call baby something like Egor then I would say um, you choose! LOL
The only one I'm not really fond of is Anthony. But that's only because it's one of my exs names. Would you call him Anthony or Tony? Tony is ok.

I chose Abbys name because Paul wanted something really common like Sarah or Amy or Anna. I know Abby is fairly common these days but I only know one Abby and I know lots of Sarahs and 2 Amys and I don't like the name Anna. That is also one of his ex gfs names. So is Amy.
If we were having a boy he wanted to use Earl and Herbert as middle names. I said um, no way. We went through a whole book of names and couldn't agree on anything and so I said fine I am choosing the name.
Unless we can actually agree on a name this time around I will be choosing again. IMO He gets the last name... he gets to carry on his family name and I don't. So it's fair.

Edward's Mommy replied: Our first child was a boy, so he was easy to name. Edward after my husband's late father. And Robert after my daddy. For a girl, my husband likes Jade (which I hate) and I like Ariabella, so we've agreed that if we have a girl next, her name will be Ariabella Jade....or Kyzra Rae Alise.

But I do understand Rich's point, afterall, you don't REALLY want your son named after someone that your DH despised do you?? Haaa

What about some other really classic names? Jonathan, David or Davis, Thomas(sorry I can't really remember what all of the choices you listed were..maybe repeating them) I think Jonathan Ryan sounds cute! I always really liked it when I saw the spelling Jon instead of John.

A little off of the beaten path, but my friends just had a baby and they named him Rylan. I like that a lot!

DH used to work for Ryland Homes and wasn't too happy at that job...so unfortunately I doubt that one will go over too well with him either , but I like it!

We're both sorta agreeing (sorta) on Wesley...so maybe Wesley Ryan. Gosh I don't know! But we were thinking of spelling it Weslie instead.

My2Beauties replied: I know how you feel, I didn't get a say so in Hanna's name, I had picked out 10 names and that is the only one he liked. Of course I love it now, but it wasn't my top choice, we absolutely could not agree. The hat thing is OK, but honey if you're anything like me and one of HIS names are pulled out of that hat, you're not gonna wanna go for it Sorry I am no help but I really really hope you guys decide soon. Maybe wait until he is born to see which one he most looks like! BTW I love all the names - but Wesley reminds me of Brian's cousin and if you knew him you'd steer away from that name he's a weirdo Sorry - i just had to throw that in. But it is a cute name, just reminds me of him!
