Why are the teething tablets behind the counter?
kit_kats_mom wrote: Why? Target and Walmart both have the Humprys teething tablets (neither carry the hylands anymore) behind the pharmacy counter. They are next to the other stuff like cold meds. I understand that the psuedoephedrine can be used to make Meth so I see why the cold meds are behind the counter (Even though it's still a pain) but teething tabs? WTH? SO I had to wait to get a pharmisist to hand me the tablets. Stupid
coasterqueen replied: Wow that's strange. That would be a PIA. So is that whole behind the counter of cough meds too.
ediep replied: very odd. The stores near me don't even carry them anymore. I ordered them from drugstore.com when Jay was teething
Kaitlin'smom replied: who knows to make us suffer. weird though whats in them? did you ask?
~Roo'sMama~ replied: That is weird - they're homeopathic for crying out loud! I get Hyland's teething tabs at Walgreens - they also have the other kind. They're just in the baby aisle.
mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: I imagine it's because the pharmacist manager doesn't have kids??!
MyLuvBugs replied: That is weird, cause here in Nebraska the walgreens down the street just has them out on the shelf? Did you ask the pharmacist why?
Mom2Boyz replied: That is wierd I've bought them at both WalGreens and WalMart, and both places had them on the shelves. I can't imagine what could be in them that they would have to keep them behind the counter.
Maddy'sMom replied: I just got them at Walmart the other day, right on the shelf where the kids vitamins are.
interribleplain replied: Our WalMarts here still carry Hyland's teething tablets OTC. But, beware, they are full of caffeine.
I went through hell making sure my son never had any caffeine of any sort (I'm talking, I went caff-free a few months before even TTC so there would be none in my body, went through a 4-day-long caffeine withdrawal headache OMG, went through the whole preg caff-free including no chocolate even because of the miniscule amount of caffeine in it, and now he is 14.5 months and I still don't do any caffeine because he is still BFing, I still stay caff-free). Can you imagine how pissed I was when I realized I'd been giving him caffeine? UGG! I stopped using them immediately.
luvmykids replied: I was asking a friend of mine who works in a pharmacy, she said sometimes they put stuff behind the counter b/c it has a high theft rate at that store, maybe thats it?
mckayleesmom replied: ditto
kit_kats_mom replied: that's probably it. The bottles come with little to no packaging, I'd bet they would be pretty easy to pocket & very tempting if you had a fussy kid and no money.
