Why am I lactating? - Didn't know where to post this....

MomToJade&Jordan wrote: Jade has been weaned for almost 2 years. The last time I checked I wasn't producing anything. My breasts have been feeling a bit fuller today so when I got out of the shower I did a test and there was some bm. I was like whoa!? Is that supposed to happen? What exactly does this mean? It was just weird because I have NOT been producing milk for a while. TIA guys!

kimberley replied: ummm..... do u think u might be pg? you can lactate early on in subsequent pg's. if not, could be a surge in hormones? not sure. keep us posted!!!

A&A'smommy replied: I was just going to ask if it is possible for you to be pregnant thats the only thing I can think of dunno.gif

coasterqueen replied: I agree with Kimberley, could you be pg? I've heard of women still producing milk YEARS after nursing their young, but it is out of the ordinary.

MomToMany replied: ITA, maybe you're pregnant?!?!?!?! Please let us know; you know we don't like suspense!!

amynicole21 replied: If you aren't pg, I would call your Gyn... not to freak you out, but sometimes that can be a sign of a problem. My sister had this, and she has never had a child (she never did get it checked out, but I did some searching online and of course thought the worst). She's fine now of course.

That is really weird, though unsure.gif

Kaitlin'smom replied: HUmmm I am still producing a little, Kaitlin has been fully weeded for about 10 months, so I wonder if I will ever truly stop

course this reminds me of my dream last night that Kaitlin started nursing again blink.gif

but if you are not PG then maybe as your doc

MomToJade&Jordan replied: I'm not sure if I could be pg. Had AF, it was a couple of days early and kind of weird, but I had one. I guess I am going to have to take a test. That or make an appt with my gyn to see why I could be lactating again all of sudden. Maybe get a blood test done while I'm there. They are still sort of full this morning and producing small amounts of milk.

A&A'smommy replied:
Keep us posted!!! thumb.gif

Kirstenmumof3 replied: I was just going to ask the same thing as everyone else! I know when I got pregnant with Claudia I started producing milk early on. Keep us posted!

MomToMany replied: thumb.gif Wow, let us know what you find out!

Maddie&EthansMom replied: Please keep us posted. I am leaking bm at times, too, but Ethan hasn't been weaned very long. I agree that you need to call the OB/GYN.

DansMom replied: I know someone who suddenly lactated when she heard a baby cry, and her little one was long-weaned. She screamed "OMG, my milk just came in!!" It was very strange and we laughed about it for years. I don't think it ever happened to her again. I wonder if the shower induced some kind of association. Or... take that test wink.gif

MomToJade&Jordan replied: Well I had a blood test done yesterday and it was neg. I am just waiting for the doc to call me back so I can set up an appt. I guess we are trying to get pg again without much sucess so I guess it would be a good time to ask her why we are having trouble. I will keep everyone posted as I get news. Thank you all for your help.

Mommy2BAK replied: well i hope you get it figured out!

I have always wanted to tell you that my best friend's name is Laura Jade, and other than your Jade she is the only Jade I have ever heard of. I love that name!! I have contemplated on naming a daughter (if I have another) Emma Jade.

kimberley replied: good luck with the doc and sending lots of ~*~*baby dust*~*~ your way!

MomToJade&Jordan replied:
Thank you. Her Daddy actually picked out her name. Her middle name was always going to be Rose though.

Thank you everyone for your well wishes. I am just waiting for a phone call from Major Wells to set up the appt. I have a whole bunch of questions and she is pretty cool so I won't deal with anyone but her.

A&A'smommy replied: Keep us posted!!

MomToMany replied: Thanks for the update!
