Why Why Why - Cold season

moped wrote: Ok, so since October Jack has had about 5 colds - seriously, we get rid of one and then within a week or two another one comes along. He caught his second since christmas yesterday and is yucky sick. then 3 days later Laila gets it of course......why does this happen??? I am so tired of it all.

Somehow I have bypassed all this but know my time is coming!

DVFlyer replied: Same here... hate it!!!

momofone replied: Try a multivitamin with Vitamin D and zinc in it for kids those vitamins are good for the immune system.

lovemy2 replied: Is Jack in preschool this year?

A&A'smommy replied: UGH Us too!!! And now apparently there is a virus going around here that has cold/sinus symptoms that everyone seems to be developing secondary infections from yeah I have had that and so has autumn it was NOT fun!!

Boo&BugsMom replied: I know I'm probably repeating something that you have once heard...but...the more they are sick now, the less they'll be sick later on. I always hated it when someone would tell me that. tongue.gif laugh.gif You're immunity is a lot higher, which is why you probably haven't gotten anything yet. There is some HORRIBLE stuff going around though. We have a horrid stomach flu going around right now, so if it's just colds, count your blessings. I know it's annoying though. hug.gif

moped replied:
Yes and today was the first time he missed school - he was quite upset.....UGH

moped replied:
I keep trying to tell myself that tongue.gif

lovemy2 replied:
That's your culprit then - think about it - its his first time out of the house - in organized type of care I mean laugh.gif Olivia got sick all the time when she was little at my gf's house who babysat her cause her kids were in school - but thankfully now she NEVER gets sick, I mean VERY rarely - she had strep throat this year and its the first time in almost three years that she was actually sick and had to go to the Ped - so it stinks but its a good thing like Jennie said wink.gif

moped replied:
I kow, I am jsut getting so tired of it - and then being passed to Laila and Tom and I ams ure one day I am going to get the worst one of all! tongue.gif

Did it help Dylan to build his immunities when she was bringing home so much?

Boo&BugsMom replied:
Tanner was really sick all the time when he was in daycare too. He was in daycare from shortly after birth until he was 2. Ugh! rolleyes.gif One thing after another with him. The good thing is that he hardly ever gets sick now though.

moped replied: Well that is good to hear. Jack just started pre K in September, so how much longer do I have to live through this?

stella6979 replied: Ugh! I'm pretty sure Avery has the stomach flu and I feel so bad for her. She hardly ever gets sick though so I can't complain too much.
I hope Jack is feeling better soon! hug.gif

lovemy2 replied:
It must be that Olivia is the little carrier - she never gets sick but Dylan every other week has a stuffy snot nose - BUT - it is getting better we are about every two or three months now - so it should help Laila at least laugh.gif

MommyToAshley replied: Ugghh, so sorry. Ashley was sick with something over Christmas break. She was running high fevers (103+) and then had cold symptoms. She almost never gets sick, but I felt so bad for her. I was told by the ped it was one of the nasty viruses that was going around. (Sometimes I wonder if they just say that when they don't know what it is).

Sending some get better, stay healthy vibes. hug.gif
