Who's done it the longest?

PrairieMom wrote: I never thjought I would still be exclusively BF for 2 months! I still dont know if I will make it to my goal of 1 year, but now it seems possible!

Who here has breast fed the longest? I know there are some tandem nursers here. So whats the longest consecuitive time?

Jamison'smama replied: I am certainly not the longest---Jamison went 24 months and Jack is now at 19 but I had a 2 month break in between so all in all 3 years and 7 months--I think Kimberly may have us all beat! smile.gif

coasterqueen replied: I know I'm not the longest. happy.gif I breastfed Kylie for 24 months (2 months pg with Megan). Then I had a 6 month break in there. I'm currently on 16 months with Megan.

I do wonder if I'm the longest pumper here though. tongue.gif blush.gif

Kirstenmumof3 replied: wub.gif I breastfeed Claudia for 28 mths. But I never thought that I would go past a year. Emily was breastfeed for 2 days, we had a lot of problems. Spencer was breastfeed for 15 months, he weaned himself.

PrairieMom replied:
i pumped for 5 months with The Boy before my body quit on me.

coasterqueen replied: I pumped 19 months with Kylie, till she was 21 months of age. She got soley breastmilk til 18 months of age (well and solids) but when she turned 18 months she started getting whole milk as well sent to daycare because I wasn't pumping enough to keep up with her. Course since the age of 6 months with her I was pumping 3x at work, on the way to work, on the way home from work, and 1 or 2x in the evening just to get enough to send with her. rolleyes.gif

So far I've pumped 12 months for Megan (she's 16 months now). I've been struggling w/my supply for about 4 months now. Just this past month (at age 15 months) she started getting 3/4 of her bottles sent with breastmilk in them and 1 bottle sent with whole milk. I'm just not pumping enough this time around. sad.gif And I'm pumping on the way to work, 3x at work, on the way home from work and 1x in the evening just to get TWO bottles of breastmilk. wacko.gif wacko.gif wacko.gif IF she gains more weight at her 18 month appt then I'm going to quit pumping. Otherwise I'll just keep going. rolleyes.gif

amynicole21 replied: 26 months, 5 month break and now 15 months. That makes 41 months total for me wink.gif And Karen, you are definitely the winner of the pumping award tongue.gif

moped replied: I didn't mind pumping - I put in a solid 5 months BF - tongue.gif

aspenblue1 replied: 14 months with Isabella and 12 month with Kyrsten of pumping and nursing.

Hillbilly Housewife replied: 2.5 months, not exclusively, the 4 months, not exclusively, and now almost 9 months, almost exclusively.

Not the longest... but I'm still happy about it!

kit_kats_mom replied: 21 months with Katherine, 6 month break and now going on 19 months with Lauren. Neither one of them ever took a bottle so that's all been boobie time...which is good (no dishes) and bad (I can't go far). Wait, Lauren took a few bottles while I was in the hospital and she was a week old but since then never. So, 34 months is my tally so far.

Nathansmom replied: 13 months exclusively BF except 2 or 3 bottles of pumped BM...Nathan basically self-weaned.

boyohboyohboy replied: So far, exclusively nine months (almost) and he hasnt had a bottle yet! Not that I havent tried! wub.gif

paradisemommy replied: taven went about 3 1/2 years..nursed through my pregnancy with skyler and did a little tandem but that was it for him shortly after she was born - skyler just turned a year so we'll see how long she goes - i'm making it up to her just like my son smile.gif

CantWait replied: 2 weeks for Robbie dry.gif
14 months for Anthony. biggrin.gif

3_call_me_mama replied: 15 months with cameron- got a 7 month break during pregnancy
21 1/2 with Kathleen and about a 4 month break until new baby arives. Then until the newbie decides they are done. I imagine it'l be 18+ months but only time wil tell.

Kaitlin'smom replied: 15 months with Kaitlin. Happy and sad about it at the same time. I am happy we went that long but sad when she selfed weaned.

jcc64 replied: 12 months with Alec
10 months with Noah
26 months with Corey

48 months added up, but lots of time off in between

coasterqueen replied: Congratulations to EVERYONE here who has BF their baby. It doesn't matter how long you have gone, it's that you decided to give your baby that gift. I'm proud of everyone here. hug.gif hug.gif

holley79 replied: Well so far, tomorrow will be 8 months with Annika. (We are combo folks. tongue.gif )

PrairieMom replied: Ya know what I need is a ticker that tells me how much $ I have saved by not using formula! laugh.gif

I should do a little math.

Anyone know what a can of powdered similac is going for now a days?

coasterqueen replied: Tara - Here you go wink.gif

Cost Benefits of Breastfeeding

holley79 replied:

kimberley replied:
huh.gif am i confused, or are you? lol aren't the girls 7mos only???? happy.gif

13 mos with Jacob
5mos break
13 mos with James
4yrs 3 mos break
35 mos so far with Jade (she is nearly weaned)
7 mos tandem with Kaleigh

Jamison'smama replied: Ding ding ding---I think we have a winner---

I knew you were it Kimberly---I wondered if Jade was still nursing.

kimberley replied: ya i have been trying to wean her for a couple of months because the jealousy was wearing off and well, i feel like Bessie the Cow some days lol. she will only nurse if she is over tired, sick or hurt herself. so not everyday.

DansMom replied: Kimberley definitely wins this one! I went 37 months with Daniel, though smile.gif

PrairieMom replied: 35 months?! I have taken out loans for less time! laugh.gif

mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: Congrats everyone! I went 8.5 months with Wil. And I'm obviously still going with Wesley...6 weeks today!

MomToJade&Jordan replied: I went 8.5 months with Jade. She self-weaned on me and trust me I tried to keep her going. tongue.gif

Only 4 months with Jordan which saddens me to no end. With everything that went on and the stress I dried up on her. I tried everything to keep going, but it was all for not.

So that makes it 12.5 months of nursing all together with almot a 2 year break.

MommyToAshley replied: Somehow I thought Kimberley would have won this medal. laugh.gif

I went about 16 months with Ashley. And, I want to thank the experienced Moms here for all the help along the way! hug.gif
