Whoops a daisy - Does anyone say this?
luvmykids wrote: At my friends house last weekend I was watching her nephew who is almost three and pretty burly looking ... but he kept saying "Whoops a daisy" and I was ROFL, it just sounded so comical coming out of this little brute's mouth. And then it dawned on me, I haven't even heard that in so long. Does anyone else still say it?
Brias3 replied: Nope, I rarely use it. Only when talking to the kids, if at all. However, that phrase always reminds me of that Notting Hill movie where Hugh Grant keeps saying it and the girl is making fun of a grown man for using the phrase
BAC'sMom replied: Nope not @ all.
C&K*s Mommie replied: Thanks for that memory Monica. I do not say it either. How cute how something that we said as children is being said by children nowadays.
luvmykids replied: That's totally what this little guy reminded me of, I was picturing him in 20 years all grown up and manly saying it
J-rod replied: i normally say ahhh s**t.
gotta stop that in a hurry...now im trying to say shux or crap.
aspenblue1 replied: Isabella started saying that it.
~Roo'sMama~ replied: Lol I say it all the time.
coasterqueen replied: I say it too. I think all those cutesy, corny sayings came back into my memory when I became a mother. Don't know why, but I use those sayings with the girls all the time. They make Kylie giggle, therefore making me happy.
TheOaf66 replied:
I don't think I use that at all, I could be wrong
Bee_Kay replied: Yep, I did when they kids were ALOT younger.
They'd probably try to commit me if I said it now that they are teens!!
AlexsPajamaMama replied: Thats the first thing I thought of!!
My 74 year old Nana says it!!
Bee_Kay replied: Actually.... now that I got to thinking about it (LOL),
When I would pick my kids up (when they were babies and/or toddlers), I would say "UPS A DAISY" too
My3LilMonkeys replied: My mom does. I catch myself saying it once in a while, but not too often.
redplaydoh replied: I say it... but until this post I never thought how funny it sounds. Try being in Switzerland where they speak German and having to explain some of these phrases to those that learned English. They look at you like you're from Mars. Of course the English they learn here is British English and not southern American English with lots of slang thrown in.
5littleladies replied: I say it.
luvbug00 replied: I say it but not so often anymore. just arround babies
kimberley replied: i do too sometimes. like Karen, all those sayings came back when i became a mom.
3_call_me_mama replied: My kids say it ALL THE TIME! It's one of kathleen's favorite expressions And so cute to hear from a toddler!
MommyToAshley replied: I don't think I've said it... but, my MIL says it.
Maddie&EthansMom replied: Guilty. I also say Upsy Daisy and that's what Ethan says when he wants up. Anytime Maddie sees a baby fall down she says "Whoopsy Daisy"
zdk753 replied: I say it.
Nina J replied: I say it. And upsy daisy aswell
mom2my2cuties replied: When I pick up our little girl, it has always been a habit to say "Upsie Daisey" to her. And she is kind of goofy, when she wants down (or up for that matter) She will either kick (down) or stretch (up) and say it down daisy.
