Whew! My kids are not as bad as I feared! - They were angels tonight!
luvmykids wrote: The last week has been awful, the kids and I have all been at the end of our rope . I think part of it is that DH is gone again after having been home for a month, and the rest, well, I don't exactly know.
Anyway, tonight I took them to Target and they were perfect angels!!! Colt asked in the car if they could get a toy and I said I had to think about it and he said "If we ask again you'll just say no?" I said yup, he said "Ok, we won't" and they didn't!!!! He kept saying "Wow, this place is awesome mom! Look at all the boy toys!" (we usually go to a different on with much less selection) No whining, yelling, fighting in the cart, not one single shred of trouble! So they did all get something small.
Then I wanted IHOP so we went and they all got the smiley face pancakes, they all ordered all by themselves and said please and thank you!! Even Macie, with no prompting!
Of course Colt had his boots, buckle, and cowboy hat on, and all kinds of people comment on it, he called every one ma'am and tipped his hat to them! And he held the door open for a lady coming in after us!!!
We did have one sort of mishap, an elderly gentleman with a cowboy hat on was talking to us and Kylie said "Are you an ancient cowboy?"
I am so happy and relieved that we had a rough week but aren't completely ruined! And not only did they behave perfectly but cracked me up too, we all had a lot of fun.

That is so cute! I taught my kids please, thank you, excuse me.... ect.
We also taught Ty to open door for ladies.... he still (and I imagine always will) does that.
But, the ma'am and tipping the hat !!!! That is so cute Monica!!!
luvmykids replied: I'm not sure if it means he watches too many westerns or has good role models!
Bee_Kay replied: LOL! Either way, what a wonderful little gentleman you have
When Ty was little, when I would ask him "show me how you are a gentleman", and he would hold my hand and kiss the top of it (like in the old movies)
luvmykids replied: How sweet!
I always ask Colt "Do you know how to be a gentleman?" He says "Yes" I say "How?" and he says "How?" I say "No, I'm asking you how." He says "I don't know. I'm asking you, how?" So I'm relieved that even if he can't tell me how, he can show me how!
1lilpeanut2love replied: You deserve a pat on the back Monica. You have raised them well. They are such cute kids and I love when kids are SO respectful. Congrats. TOO CUTE!!
CAMSMOM1 replied: Monica, I know how stressed you've been. It's hard sometimes raising young kids, but days like this helps us to remember how blessed we are, and what a GREAT JOB we've done as parents. You are a wonderful Mom! They are all respectful, loving and courteous. And it's just a reflection on what a terrific job you've done raising them. And they are so dang cute & funny, I just want to squeeze them! I'm glad you had a wonderful day, you deserve it! And it's nice to have such a special time with your kiddos.
