Whew! Kylie's toe isn't broken

I wanted to take her to the ER last night because she couldn't calm down and she seemed in a lot of pain and was all night long. So DH took her this morning, after he slept in . Her big toe isn't broken, thank goodness, they did a few x-rays....but they had to burn a hole in the toenail to drain the blood and that apparently was pretty painful. They told us to keep giving her motrin for the pain and to put some antibiotic cream on it so it doesn't get infected. Poor baby.

Another thing is we've waited months to get into a foot specialist for Kylie to find out about her tiptoe walking and the appointment is tomorrow. She can't walk obviously without a great deal of pain. I'm not canceling the appointment, though, we've waited too long to get this one. We'll just go and see what they can tell without her walking, or hopefully by tomorrow morning it'll feel much better.

I just knew she was gonna drop a can on her foot one day.

Definetly keep the appt with the specialist for tommorrow. They can at least do a preliminary eval.

I know how you feel though. I was holding a big door to the apartment building open for her and as she was walkiong through my hand slipped and wham right on the toe. and she was wearing bare feet. She screamed for so long! And her nail feel off!

Ashley likes to help put away the groceries, which means she likes to put the cans in the pantry. I hate to see her do that though because I am afraid of this very same thing.

Please give Kylie some extra hugs from Ashley and myself.

mammag replied: Sorry about her boo boo! Definitely let us know. I'm particularly interested because my kids walk on tip toe very much and I've never really asked the doctor about it but was recently wondering if it might be a problem.
