DillsMommy wrote: wishing well? That's what Dylan wants for his birthday. huh.gif I've seen them in peoples yards for decoration, so I thought about getting him one like that to put outside his bedroom window. He has been asking for one for a while now. unsure.gif His birthday is June 14th, so I have a while to look for one. Any ideas?

Crystalina replied: Maybe there is someone locally who makes them? That's where most of us get ours.

Hope you find him one.

holley79 replied: Do you have a flowerama there? We have one here and they have some miniture wishing wells. I think I saw some at Hobby Lobby also.

DillsMommy replied: Hmm...I've never heard of Flowerama, but we do have a hobby lobby. We also have a Garden Ridge, anyone heard of that? I'm might check there. Thanks for the suggestions! thumb.gif

bawoodsmall replied: I have no clue. He does know that just cuz he wishes for something doesnt mean he gets it. That would be our problem. But mom I wished for it in the wishing well. He sounds like such a sweet boy.

Boys r us replied: I have seen a local person selling them before. Might want to ask around locally!

DillsMommy replied:
That's probably my best bet. They're pretty popular around here so it shouldn't be to hard--I hope. I may end up knocking on someones door--"ma'am, where'd you get your well?" lol.

Brandy- He does think that his wishes will come true. Bless his heart. He'll be so disappointed when he doesn't get a monster truck or a trip to Disney World. But I really want to get him one, so I'll have to figure something out to tell him. happy.gif emlaugh.gif

bawoodsmall replied:
I knew it. What a sweetie. Good luck with something to tell him.

sparkys2boys replied: awwwww that's cute!!! I would ask around to.

Calimama replied:
Omg I'm jealous! I love Garden Ridge. I'd check there for sure!!

My3LilMonkeys replied: Lowes, Home Depot - really any place that has a large garden department would be where I would start. Good luck!

my2girls replied: I have seen them at Big Lots.
They have a great garden section and they were about $40-$60 , depending on the size.

Danalana replied: How sweet! I love kids...what sn awesome thing to ask for!

coasterqueen replied: They have those cardboard ones like you can use for cards at weddings. Know what I'm talking about? tongue.gif He could decorate that one on his own. Just a thought.

austins mom replied: try lowes or home depot or someone that has outside garden decorations

Sam & Abby's Mom replied: that is so cute! I love how kids at his age believe in all the magic and stuff wub.gif

Teesa®© replied: Have you thought of making your own? That way, if it doesn't work, you'll have your "something to tell him" wink.gif

Wishes are something we want from the heart. Sometimes wishes come true, sometimes they don't, and sometimes they take a while before we get them. A wishing well isn't like Aladdin's Genie - you're not going to get something right away. A good wish is one that you have to wait for, it builds up suspense, excitement and finally surprise when it comes true.

A good wish is also something that's not unrealistic. Wishing for a dinosaur or peace on earth isn't going to work, obviously. Dinosaur's are extinct and there's too many cowardly men in power that don't know how to talk to somebody when they have a problem and use other innocent peoples' lives to do their dirty work [not looking for a debate here, I just feel that that's all war boils down to in a nutshell. I'm not naive to not know there's a heck of a lot more to war].

Even wishes from the heart don't always come true. Wishing that your best friend had a mommy that doesn't hit him/her or that the child next to you had a daddy is, sadly, unrealistic. Too many things have to go "right" for something that big to be able to happen.

Wishing is still a great thing to do. It teaches us that we have something to strive for and it tells us another's heart's desire. Sometimes it takes another person - or two - to make our wish/es come true [isn't that what birthdays are really for?? wink.gif ].

boyohboyohboy replied: i just saw a really pretty one at k mart and thought of you

holley79 replied:
I think Garden Ridge is similar to Ole Time Pottery isn't it or are they two different things. emlaugh.gif
