Where is your favorite place? - Can be anywhere....

PascosGirl wrote: My favorite place on earth is Boca Grande beach. It is absolutely beautiful. Not a lot of people go there, which I think makes it better. It is undeveloped and puts you in tune with nature.

Boys r us replied: Hmm..well it depends on what I'm going there for!!!

If I'm going for relaxation, I like Ocracoke Island, NC...THAT PLACE IS HEAVEN ON EARTH! No JOKE! Simply Unbelievable!

PascosGirl replied:
Can you post a pic??

bwalkerletters replied: You girls won't like this answer but mine is being at Yankee Stadium and at the Titans games..... smile.gif I haven't been to my dream place yet.......Scotland and Ireland....... sad.gif

PascosGirl replied:
I like your answer. I am a HUGE sports fan. Football mainly (NCAA) but I like baseball too. I have been Yankee Stadium and I am from Tampa so I go to their spring training games at Legend's Field. I am a Braves fan though, have been since I was little.

I go to a lot of my college team's games and to a lot of Braves game and I always have a BLAST, but it is not relaxing. It is fun!

bwalkerletters replied: I'm ready to go back to Yankee Stadium! My dad is from Brooklyn, so even though I grew up in Nashville, I grew up a Yankees fan! It's relaxing if you have enough beers during the game! tongue.gif haha

PascosGirl replied:
Well my mom is puerto rican and she is from Brooklyn. She is a huge yanks fan.

I am playing fantasy baseball right now and I thought my team sucked when I drafted but I am currently first in the private league I play in. lol I don't have any high profile players (no Jeter or A Rod). I saw the Yanks play a couple of times last year. I mean, they are the Yankees and even though I don't pull for them, I respect the history. Mantle, Dimaggio, Ruth. How can you not appreciate that?

PascosGirl replied:
Well we go to Turner Field many, many times. It is only about a 6 hour drive for us. In fact, if you look in my sig pic, my DH and I are at the first home game this season.

bwalkerletters replied: That's cool.......I go to Atlanta games occasionally too. It's only about 3 1/2 hours from Nashville. I go mainly to watch the OTHER teams play though! smile.gif Especially if the Yankees are coming into town. smile.gif I love Turner Field though........ wink.gif

PascosGirl replied:
Yeah, Turner Field is definitely state of the art.

I am a huge college football fan. That is my passion. During the season, I will be tailgating at every home game on Saturday. I live for them!! I even go to some away games depending on where they are.

bwalkerletters replied: We're turning this into a sports forum! biggrin.gif haha.......I'm a huge college football fan too! WAR EAGLE! smile.gif

PascosGirl replied:
OMG - an Auburn fan. Figures. lol I am a die hard, will be forever FSU fan. BTW - we beat you 2 out of 3 times in baseball this year. lol

jasonsmom replied: I can't choose between my two favorite places: Walt Disney World and Nashville.

Jasonsmom

gr33n3y3z replied: I would have to say up in the mountains when we go away

And where I live
In the summer its fast paced and alive with the bay across the street and 3 blocks in the other direction to the beach what more could you want in the winter its so dead so I have the best of 2 worlds right here.

GavinsMommy replied: My favorite place geographically is Maine. Mainly Portland, but any part really

The pic is really big, so just go here... Picture

babys_aura replied: Laying in bed cuddling with Dh. We just moved to Texas a month ago so there is lots of nice places here. I really think Corpus Christi is beautiful!!

JessC replied: I think the PACIFIC beach... best place... plus you get some good waves every now and then so I can SURF! wub.gif wub.gif wub.gif I just got back today from there! thumb.gif

Good time!

Leo replied: If you are looking for absolute relaxation, then White Beach on Boracay Island in the Philippines is the place to be - laid back, great selection of food/restaurants (Italian, Spanish, Malaysian, Japanese, Korean, French, Mongolian, Thai...you name it - all on the beach with tables in the sand, and cheap.

Stay in a bungalow on the beach w/AC for $100/night during peak season. No shoes are necessary. Sandals only, at the most. Just shorts and t-shirts, do some sailing, snorkeling, or great diving. There's a golf course on the island, if you want to do that.

Actually, anywhere in Asia is very cheap - Bali, Phuket, Koh Samui, etc. Boracay is the least crowded and most relaxed, though.

Maldives and Dubai, where we went on our honeymoon, are also fantastic.

MomToJade&Jordan replied:
Being a Yankees fan myself I see nothing wrong with that. I have been one since I knew what baseball was. I was born in NY and used to watch the games with my Dad. I have a good friend who's a Bo Sox fan and we have a lot of fun ribbing each other. My DH is a Braves fan.

MomToJade&Jordan replied:
YES! Yet another FSU fan on the board. I graduated from there in 2001. KitKatsMom and Jdkjd are also fans. We are big College football fans in our house and always look forward to football season. I even watched the 4th quarter of a Nole game the day after Jade was born. We are stationed in Hawaii so I haven't been able to go to a game in over 4 years. I can't wait to go back again. I miss it so much.

MomToJade&Jordan replied: One of my fav. places is right here in Hawaii. It's called the three tables. It's on the North Shore so it's pretty hard to get in the water this time of year, but in the summer it's one the best places to snorkle. In the pick you will see some flat rock formations in the water. That is why it's called three tables.

bwalkerletters replied: Mommy! Say it with me! LET'S GO YANKEES! LET'S GO YANKEES! and this year it's back to TINO! TINO! TINO! smile.gif

MomToJade&Jordan replied: Ah yes music to my ears. So nice to have Tino back.

PascosGirl replied:
I go to all of the home games. I watched the FSU/Miami game in the hospital. lol The nurses had to tell me to be quiet several times! biggrin.gif

CCTandME replied:
I LOVE Maine. Haven't been there in 3yrs, but it is SOOO nice. Our last vaca there was on a campground right on the beach. That was awesome. Everyday was gorgeous weather. Ahhhhhh!!! to dream......

AshleyRose replied: Paris France where we lived for six months. Such a beautiful city... wouldn't want to live there again but I can't wait to go back for a little visit. SOoooo romantic.

And Universal Studios and Islands of adventure.. lol.. im such a kid tongue.gif

Leo replied: For European cities, Paris is nice and pretty but Rome is great. Sooo much history and great food all around. It's like going back in time.

MomToJade&Jordan replied:
LOL!!!!! I only wish I could go to all of the home games. I did when I was in college. I was a voice major and had to really be careful I didn't blow my voice out with all the the yelling and screaming I did. There was one ocassion when I did and I knew the moment it happened. It was the year we won the National Championship, we were playing Georgia Tech. They kept answering our scores so I had a lot to say to the defense. I thought I was going to go into labor during that FSU/ Iowa State game. They looked like the Noles for all of 2 quarters and then Senaca Wallace started to beat us down. DH had to tell me to calm down or we would have been heading to the hospital. Very serious about my Nole football.

PascosGirl replied:
I know how you feel. I cried when the Gators beat us at home. Cried mainly because I was mad. I am a poor sport.

I also got upset when Miami beat us again and was very mad that Rix managed to fumble the ball in OT and basically give the game to Miami after we had managed to tie the game in the first place.

I think our QB situtaion was causing a lot of problems for our defense. Pretty bad when your D scores more than your O. I have visited spring practice and Xavier Lee looks awesome. I hope it isn't a fluke. He is out performing Sexton (which isn't hard) and looks like he may take the top spot. I am a little worried about the season opener being against Miami. I hate that we play them first now instead of in October like we used to do. Especially since we haven't beat them since 2000. I know why we play them, because it is better to lose earlier in the season but still. I hate losing to them.

Ok, sorry I hijacked my own thread and made it all about football. lol

MomToJade&Jordan replied: LOL!!!!!! That's quite all right with me. I never get tired of talking about football.

I cried too. DH was all hugging me. I was just really sad that the Gators were able to beat us at home. That's just not supposed to happen. The last home game I went to was in 2000. That was again't the Gators as well. It was kind of cold, but worth it since we beat them 30-7. Great way to end my last football season there.

Oh the Miami game. I was really mad. Losing to Miami is always hard, but I find it so much harder when we were winning for most of the game. The D did what they had to do. The O didn't. I am worried about the opener as well. A friend of mine keeps telling me that I have to go to the game, But I am going to be very pg and I don't know if that is such a good idea. I have to get to FL first and then see how things are from there. I really want to beat those Canes this year. It would be so great to finally get them again.

Gee I hope this new kid isn't a fluke. We really need a QB that has a good head on his shoulders. I use to cringe everytime Rix would throw the ball. Not a good thing. I guess we are just going to have to wait and see.
