Where do you buy meat.

lisar wrote: Okay do you buy your meat from a meat market or the grocery store? I find that at the meat market the meat is better quality and its cheaper. I was just curious on what everyone else does?

lovemy2 replied: I have heard that too and there are alot of meat markets around me but its easier to just get it at the grocery store or BJs when I am there........

luvmykids replied: I'm sure there are meat markets around, but TBH I've never seen one. I usually buy it at Sam's.

TheOaf66 replied: we get ours straight from the cattle farm or from the meat market

Kaitlin'smom replied: well I want more from MIL's cows but not sure whats going on there wacko.gif other wise schwans for me, great tasting meat and the chicken and pork are priced well, the steak it getting a bit costly now.

My2Beauties replied: At the grocery store. I don't know of any meat markets around here...I need to check into that. Our grocery store will cut it for you, it's better quality and cheaper that way too, I have been doing that a lot lately.

Cece00 replied: Usually @ a grocery store, sometimes @ a meat market, if I feel like driving there.

We'll be getting our beef from my parents after this month, as they are slaughtering a calf. We had a freezer with some in it for awhile & it went out & we lost it...now we've been without their beef for months bawling.gif

punkeemunkee'smom replied: We buy from the meat market mostly...It is much better meat. In our little town I probably just saw it standing in a pasture a few days ago rolling_smile.gif

mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: I was just shopping at King Soopers last night and noticed they now sell Organic meats, but I typically buy meat at Whole Foods. Sometimes Sam's Club, but I'm really trying hard to stay hormone-free if I can.

mom21kid2dogs replied: We generally buy poultry at the store as a matter of convinience. There are some meat markets around but they are far more expensive than the grocery store here. If do buy there occasionally I want steak or a roast. Otherwise, our "ground beef" is deer meat (thanks Dad!!!). I haven't bought ground beef in at least 5 years.

boyohboyohboy replied: we were buying at the grocery store, but we intend to start buying from a farmer here..
why is it cheaper at a meat market? because thats all they do?

coasterqueen replied: We buy ours from a local organic farmer.

Mommy2BAK replied: schwans. my step dad that was a regional manager for walmart wouldn't even eat walmart's meat, so that did it for me! huh.gif

HuskerMom replied: We go to the store for our meat usually. Sometimes we'll buy a cow or a hog with Dh's parents. Way cheaper and way tastier meat than in the stores. tongue.gif

Calimama replied: Whole foods grocery store.

luvbug00 replied: i refuse to veggies/meat/fruits or anything like that from walmart or target. I just have a bad feeling about them. But we get ours from costco although we rarely eat meat anymore.

My3LilMonkeys replied: At the grocery store....I didn't even know meat markets still existed. blush.gif How would I go about finding one in my area? What would they be listed in the yellow pages under?

MyBlueEyedBabies replied: townandcountryfoods.com

it is a bit more expensive being in CA because they have to ship it to me but now it is basically equal to the grocery store instead of cheaper. All Organic hormone free and individual portions. So much easier and the quality is far above what I have been finding in any stores lately. I will also buy at Whole Foods or Costco and occasionally Ralphs if I need something special.
