When does everyone start back to school?

Our Lil' Family replied: School starts on Aug 8th here! But they got out around May 19th.
~Roo'sMama~ replied: Wow, that does seem early! When does school let out where you are? It seems like summer break is getting shorter and shorter everywhere. 
maestra replied: I have to be back on July 28th, but the kids come back August 4th. We got out the very last week of May. The summer was really short this year.
5littleladies replied: Wow! That does seem early. We will start back September 2nd here-same day as the public schools do.
paradisemommy replied: Taven's back to school on July 8th and he just finished K on June 23rd - but it's only because the school is year around and we had to change track colors because i am taking the kids home with me in november and the track that i changed him to is on vacation the exact days we are going to be gone!
Maddie&EthansMom replied: August 13th for Maddie, too. Ethan doesn't start until September. Our public schools start August 25th.

August 8th!! SO early this yr.
Although personally I will be OK with them going back to school...since I work, I wont see them any less than I do now.
Plus, I'm paying $676 every 2 weeks in daycare, which will drop to $450 every 2 weeks at the end of August, so I'm ready!

I had plans to be in 2 days a week on the first of July but with all that has gone on it has not happened as structured as I had planned. I am really excited for 2nd grade! I love what I have looked at of our new program- I think it is going to be so fun to teach!

msoulz replied: Here in MI the public schools can't start until after Labor Day so my boy starts 4th grade on Sept 2. I am sending Erin to a christian preschool for 2 days per week and she will start Aug 26.
my2monkeyboys replied: We actually started today. Since we'll be taking some extra time off in Nov when Waylon gets here I wanted to start early to make sure we get all of our days in without being so rushed at the end of the year.
The public schools around here start Aug 19. Not sure about the private schools.

3_call_me_mama replied: Public school here opens the last tuesday in august. They let out around the 19th of June.
We homeschool, and don't start until after labor day. We end May 1st. So this year We were off May 1-Sept 2. 4 nice LONG months of from school work..
