When do you feel - most at peace

My new years resolution is to bring more balance to my life. I am trying to slow down and to get back into doing the things I love to do, the things that bring the most peace to my life. I'm curious to know what it is for others.
There is no right or wrong answer, but here are just some examples:
Going to church Playing with my kids Working out Meditating Playing a musical instrument Listening to tunes Dancing Painting/other hobby Sitting and doing nothing Reading a book
Calimama replied: My DH calls me late at night after Miabella is sleeping and I lay in bed and talk to him. He's so silly and lovey dovey.
OR
Cuddling with Miabella in the mornings.
luvmykids replied: When the kids are in bed and the house is quiet Riding a horse Sometimes when I'm cleaning...I can kind of zone out and just not think about anything at all. Reading Church
I haven't mastered "getting there", right now it kind of takes me by suprise when I feel that way.
bawoodsmall replied: laying in bed with dh giggling and acting like silly teens. Reading
Anthony275 replied: playing videogames making stuff on the computer like little videos sleeping nutella work out to relieve stress i clean..no joke
mommy~to~a~bunch replied: ~After the kids go to bed

~After I clean the house
~Reading
mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: Anthony, you're so funny...Nutella! Good one. Chocolate definitely does it for me sometimes.
For me...I have been taking a class called Nia, which is sortof a dance / martial arts combo. I used to dance when I was a teenager and it brings me back to that time, where I feel free to do whatever I want, like I'm sortof outside my body, but at total peace with myself.
I also got back into reading this year. I love how it takes your mind off of whatever is going on in your life and can sometimes take you to a whole new place. I try to read uplifting novels for this reason. Anything depressing just doesn't put me in the place I want to be. It's also why I don't watch scary movies aymore either.
Cooking does it sometimes, but only if I'm doing it without distraction and I'm not on a time crunch.
And last but not least, it's hearing my kids laugh out loud! DH had the song "Money for Nothing"on last night...you know that old 80's song, I think by Dire Straits. And he grabbed Wil's little toy guitar and was dancing around the basement. Wil was dancing and laughing along. Dh picked him up and they were singing and dancing together. I seriously just sat there watching in total peace, wanting the moment to never end, it was so sweet.
stella6979 replied: I love target shooting. Not sure what it is, but having a gun in my hand makes me forget about EVERYTHING else. And I don't mean in the crazy, psycho kind of way, I guess I'm just so focused on being safe and hitting the target that my mind just goes blank.
Calimama replied:
momofone replied: I feel most at peace when I'm by myself or walking at the park
HuskerMom replied: I know the feeling. It's very relaxing. I love going out to my inlaws place in the country and shoot targets. It's so quiet out there, and I always feel so alone and safe.
I like to sit down and read while Dh is playing video games. It's nice spending the time together even if we're doing seperate things. Before having kids Dh and I would just drive around in the country with no particular destination. And driving fast is very relaxing to me too.
sparkys2boys replied: Hmm you mean I am supposed to feel peace sometimes Now on a serious note I feel peaceful when The house is quiet and I get to read a good book Having a hot bath with candles on and tons of bubbles A long walk on a warm night Sitting in front of a campfire with the kids and DH late at night looking at stars At the beach
MoonMama replied: With my family. Listening to Braedin sleep. When I know my loved ones are all home and safe. At night when DH and I have our "reconnect time" (no not what your all thinking, we talk every night and call it our "reconnect time".
AlexsPajamaMama replied: Aww that brought tears to my eyes, there is nothing sweeter!!
kimberley replied: being at home spending quality time with my family seeing dh and the kids happy going to church watching them sleep being at the cottage at night by the lake feeling hubby's arms around me getting a massage
stella6979 replied: Oh, I forgot about massages. DH gives me footrubs at least twice a week and they are SOOOOOOO relaxing. Of course, he only does them cause in return he gets his head scratched. LOL!
kimberley replied: OMG I totally read that wrong the first time!!!
stella6979 replied: LOL! I guess I could have worded that better, eh?
Maddie&EthansMom replied: Writing tops the list, without a doubt. Reading Listening to music Driving in the country Laying down staring at the night sky I'm hoping watching the waves roll in will help me some this next week Praying used to help, but I'll be the first to admit that I haven't had a good talk with God in quite awhile, but I'm going to allow myself to have that relationship again b/c I feel it is very important to me.
Rae this was the perfect topic for me right now. I really need peace in my life (having personal issues) and it helps to right it down and remember how to find that peace when I'm in a lonely place.
lovemy2 replied: Scrapbooking Being anywhere near water Reading and sounds dumb but organizing - I love the peace I feel once I have accomplished organizing a room or something.... Camping - after the kids go to sleep and DH and I are just hanging around a fire... Walking Being outside watching my kids play Church
mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: Glad it helped, it helped me too! I'm sorry you are having a hard time right now, you can always PM me if you want.
You reminded me that being at the beach makes me feel at peace too. Which is why we so desperately want to move back to CA. I want my kids to have that same experience at the beach as I did as a kid. Have fun on your trip btw, can't wait to hear the details!
