What's your favorite... - and which do you hate?

I actually like to clean the kitchen. There is a certain level of satisfaction involved for me. I like seeing the counters gleaming and the floor sparkling. And having everything in it's place thrills me no end. That is why Aaron doesn't get to put things away, I can never find them later.

The chore I cannot stand is dusting. It seems completely pointless to me. I live in a very dusty area of the country. I could dust twice a day and it would never stay gone. It is just futile. My mom had a cross-stitch in her living room that fits me to a t. It said, "Dust is a protective covering for furniture."

Okay, I guess vaccuuming would be my favorite if I had to choose. Kitchen is my least favorite.

I cannot and would much sooner pay someone to clean the bathroom floors, than I would do it. I do it only because I have to. I hate to otherwise. Bathrooms are for a handful of purposes, and as long as they are fulfilled (i.e. showers, or applying makeup) I am out of there quickly.

My favorite has to be sweeping/mopping. I used to hate to mop floors, but that was because Chris insisted on using the string mops that you had to put your hands into the water to wring out. We agreed a long time ago that he would be the one to mop floors. Now I use a swiffer wet mop, and I need to go buy a new sponge mop also, since our last one was left out in the sun for too long. Sweeping is a breeze now, and I have always liked to do that. I cannot stand having crumbs of food under my feet, so the broom comes out often.

However, I HATE cleaning the shower and dusting!!

I LOVE making the bed... I love the way it looks when it is done and there is nothing better than getting into a nicely made bed at night!!

coasterqueen replied: I definitely loved it when I had a housekeeper, especially working full-time the thought of coming home to do chores during the week or on the weekends was just not fun. But since I'm not rich anymore , that's what I tell Dh, I do a lot more than I want to. I would have to say my favorite chore is mowing. I LOVE mowing. I get on that mower and spend the next 3 to 4 hours on it and it's just peaceful and quite. Plus I can drive as fast as the mower allows and listen to some tunes.

The one I don't like to do.... It would be any chore I have to do when the kids are awake. I try to do all of them when they are napping or after they go to bed at night so I get to spend all their awake time with them, but sometimes I have to do them when they are awake. So I really have no one chore I hate more than the other, just any that takes me away from time with my children.

luvmykids replied: Vacuuming is by far my favorite, I think because I have a Dyson and I get huge satisfaction out of seeing everything I've sucked up. I hate, hate, hate putting laundry away, I'm perfectly happy to dig through piles of clean and folded laundry to find underwear!

Although I have to say, I've been using the flylady bathroom swish n swipe method, and now that my bathrooms are sparkling at all times I love to do that too!

The chore I really hate to do is FOLD LAUNDRY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hate doing that.

Nina J replied: I like cleaning the bathroom's. It's nice to go in there and have a super white bath tub, shower and toilet, and have all the products all nicely lined up and neat. And having nice, clean white towels in there. And nice clean tiles, all the laundry either clean or in the hamper...

I don't like putting dishes away

I agree dusting is pointless, but I don't have to dust as often as it sounds like you do! When I notice that the top of the entertainment system is looking pretty nasty I dust everything...probably once a month!

The one thing I am sooo anal about is sweeping and vacuuming, I hate stepping on "stuff"!! The worst ever is getting out of the shower and stepping on cat litter!! The cat box is in the bathroom and he kicks litter everywhere! I have a clorox ready mop with the throw away pad thingies so I dont mind washing floors either.

I like a clean kitchen as well...counters wiped and things put away.

Life is good when the dishes and laundry are caught up, thats what I always say!

Favorite chore: Throwing stuff away! De-cluttering (I think thats the word) satisfies me to no end!! TSO mode! Throwing Sh*t Out!
Least Favorite:Washing windows, it seems to be never ending at my house
