What will they call you?

Danalana wrote: Down here, people refer to their mothers as "mama" a lot. occasionally, you hear "mom", but not that much. I call my mother mama.
Do you have a preference as to what your kids call you? Or do you just let it evolve however it happens? Or maybe they call you what you call yourself...i.e. "Mama loves you!"
Anyway, I was just wondering.

DansMom replied: I started out as mama, but now he says mom or mommy too depending on his mood. Mommy is when he's pleading for something, mom is when he's referring to me in the third person. But when we're cuddling, he still says Mama wub.gif

ZandersMama replied: I'm mama when he is happy to see me, and mom when he is in time out rolling_smile.gif

lovemy2 replied:
DITTO - but I sure love Mama....

Danalana replied: That's a moment I can't wait for...my very own child saying "mama" wub.gif

Kaitlin'smom replied: mommy mostly some times mama (which I love the way she says it), DH used Mother once and I put a stop to that, its not for me I dont like it.

Danalana replied: I've heard people refer to their mother as "mother"...it always sounded disrespectful, somehow.

Jackie012007 replied: I call myself "mama" when talking to her (not that she understands yet) - I'm 23 and I still call my mother "mommy" blush.gif

Danalana replied: Awww, I think "mommie" is sweet smile.gif

HuskerMom replied: I'm hoping Keith will say Mommy wub.gif

redplaydoh replied: I'm mommy and sometimes mom, rarely mama. Mama was more when they were just learning to talk. Sometimes when Lucas is angry with me he uses my first name... rolleyes.gif

moped replied: Mommy

Mommy P......... and he says my last name which is hilarious

and occassionally Jennifer...........which nobody ever calls me. Just Jen

Danalana replied: laugh.gif

Cece00 replied: my kids use all 3, mostly mama.

lisar replied: I am still known as Mama. I love it when they say Mama or Mommy.

3xsthefun replied: They both started out calling me mama, now they call me mommy and sometimes on occasion they will call me mom.

I still call my mom "Mommy" also smile.gif

MoonMama replied: Mama or mommy I think, because thats what I say to my mom, or about myself...ie: mommy/mama loves you.

Calimama replied: Mommy. wink.gif

A&A'smommy replied: Momma or mommy (or MY momma) I like mommy better but she cracks me up when she says momma...

I have a friends whos daughter will either call her mom or by her first name its hilarious!!

kimberley replied: mama when they are little, mom or mommy as they get bigger.

lovemy2 replied:
rolling_smile.gif I have friends whose first son ALWAYS called them by their first name - they had the hardest time breaking him of the habit - he was little and wasn't doing it to be disrespectful or anything but when you think about it - most of the people in your life (obviously other than your kids) call you by your first name - kids must think we are lying to them telling them to call us Mama or Dada.... rolling_smile.gif

Crystalina replied: I'm Mommy. smile.gif

Nina J replied: Emily calls me mama. Odessa has said Ma, but not mama. She'll probably call me mama too.

luvmykids replied: Most of the time it's mama. Once in a while it's mommy. They reserve MOM! for when they're mad at me for whatever reason rolling_smile.gif

My3LilMonkeys replied: I'm mommy, or occasionally mom. DH HATES mama, so he won't let them call me that. rolleyes.gif

~Roo'sMama~ replied: I am Mom, Mommy and Mama. I refer to myself as any of those, and Andrew calls me all three. I don't think I'll ever be "Mother" - it sounds too grown up. tongue.gif

redchief replied: I used to be plain "dad." Now I'm "Dad-can-I-have-some-money."

Danalana replied: laugh.gif Awww, like "mama", most people here say "daddy".
OR "daddy-can-i-have-some-money?"

MoonMama replied:
Hey now I can still get away with that one...."daddy can I have ______" blush.gif rolling_smile.gif

zdk753 replied: The kids call me mom. The only time they call me mommy is when they first get home from somewhere. I love it when they call me that.

redchief replied:
See? Exaggerating? I think not. happy.gif

MomToJade&Jordan replied: Jade will say mama, mommy or mom. It all depends on her mood. She will also ask me what my name is every once in a while and then proceed to tell me that it's Carrie-Ann (it's a good thing I have her around so I don't forget my name. tongue.gif ) Mom is only used when she's being a smartie like the other day when I was trying to explain something to her and she said look mom. happy.gif She has also taken to calling me master mommy when I ask her to do something. emlaugh.gif Jordan uses Ma Ma which is also grandma.

hoosier momma replied: I was momma until just recently. Now that John Robert can say Mommy, I am mommy and so is my husband. If he is tired or not feeling well, he cries for his momma.

Danalana replied:
Awwwww, so cute. One of my co-workers has a granddaughter, and she will call her grandfather and her father "daddy". And sometimes she calls her grandmother (my co-worker) "pawpaw". It's so cute! wub.gif

Hillbilly Housewife replied: Emilie callms me mom or mommeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee, Zach and Naomie call me Mama. Or Honey. laugh.gif

holley79 replied: Annika right now is mamamamama emlaugh.gif I have always refered to my Mama in the third person, call her mom and when I want something from her it's "Mommy" emlaugh.gif

Mommy2Isabella replied: Right now bella calls me MAMA ... but she is only 8 months old ... I remember when I was pregnant I wanted her to call me Jessica ... hahaha I think Mommy is what I would prefer ... but any form of that word would be alright with me!

Boo&BugsMom replied: Mommy here. Every blue moon it's Ms. Mommy, because he hears his friends during school time call me Ms. Jennie so he puts his own twist on it. laugh.gif It's mostly mommy though. I call my mom, mom.
