What was your child's 1st birthday theme?
coasterqueen wrote: Dh and I are deciding between 2 themes for Megan's 1st birthday party and can't decide on which one of course!
I was just curious what themes you used for your little one's 1st birthday parties. Maybe I might like one of yours better than ours.
Kylie's 1st birthday theme was Winnie The Pooh
booey2 replied: Sorry Karen, can't help you there, with the boys there was no theme, as they were just family parties and the boys were too young to know the difference. Matthew has only had one theme party and it was really only the cake, it was a Hulk cake other then that the boys just wanna party.
danahas4monkeys replied: kimberly was elmo/ hunchback of notre dame lol (not kidding half the cake was of each) jordan was construction alexis was blues clues andrew was music notes and guitars
Dana
coasterqueen replied: Yeah our themes have only been for the decorations and cake, more for me I guess than them.
Sarah&Mackenzie replied: This was Mackenzie's first birthday supplies:

MyBlueEyedBabies replied: Katy's was Pink and Purple I had no energy (5 months pregnant) but lots of people so we just choose colors Matt's was blues clues...Katy picked for him
Jamison'smama replied: For Jamison--we did the general first birthday theme.
Everything was just "first birthday" themed--loaded with pink and white decorations---tons of pink and white balloons--very girly
For Jack it is cars--since that is what he LOVES.
A friend of mine did Princess for her daughter and "balloons" as her son's theme.
PrairieMom replied: This was ours. They also have the same thing for girls that is pink and purple. I ordered all the stuff online, and it came right to my house! super convinient! I love online shopping!

Jamison'smama replied: That was ours too (in girl version). They had it at Garden Ridge here as well.
I bought Jack's car stuff from that site too---nice stuff.
moped replied: Jacks was Elmo.....................not sure why but that is what I chose.
coasterqueen replied: Well here are the two we've decided on but we can't decide which one.

or

We didn't go so girly with Kylie but she's not really the girly girl type. Megan appears to be a bit more girly. Don't ask me why I think that but she just acts more dainty.
Sarah&Mackenzie replied: I like the unicorn one!!!
MomToJade&Jordan replied: Jade's was Hello Kitty.
I like the unicorn one. Jade would pick that one out for Jordan.
moped replied: Oh i love the unicorn one!!!!!
mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: We did a western BBQ theme for Wil's 1st. I threw bales of hay in the backyard and had everyone dress up in western gear. Next year I may do a Hawaiian luau theme since I noticed by the end of summer (Wil's bday is Aug 31st), all the summer themed party stuff is on sale at the party store!!
I like the pink teddy bears!
coasterqueen replied: I don't know why I didn't know Wil's birthday is the same as mine.
MyLuvBugs replied: Lorelei's was "Fairy Princess". It was really cute. Light Pink, Blue and Purple colors, and of course she had to have a blue's clues bibby.
3_call_me_mama replied: cameorn had ELMO cause he was a sesame street freak!! and kathleen had ladybug princess. we almost went with that unicorn one VERY CUTE!!
Our Lil' Family replied: I think I'm going to use Baby Einstein for Thomas....he LOVES both Baby E. and Little E.
My3LilMonkeys replied: Brooke's was Sesame Street. Of your 2 choices I love the unicorn!
mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: It's a good day!
Freckled Momma replied: Hmmmm...
We've done Barney, Tigger, Pooh, Teletubbies, Blues Clues, Barbie, Sports Theme,Strawberry Shortcake
I've been considering a Pirates Theme this year for my oldest boy. It falls 4 days before Halloween.
huggybugboy replied: Man...first birthday stuff already...where has the time gone? I'd better get on the ball What were/are your ideas Karen?
Mom2Boyz replied: Conners was ELMO too
coasterqueen replied: Well I think we are going to go w/the Pink Teddy Bear theme I posted in this thread. We'll do light pink, a darker pink, and white balloons and decor. A 3-d teddy bear cake if I can accomplish that on top of a big sheet cake. I'm not sure about anything else. With Kylie's it was so easy because it was early September, we had a party at the park. We invited everyone to join us for a picnic before hand and they brought their own lunches. So we just provided cake, ice cream and punch.
Since Megan's is in early March I'm not sure what we'll do. My thoughts are to find somewhere I can rent CHEAP, but I don't think that's going to happen around here. So maybe hors d'oeuvres instead of a full blown lunch, and cake, ice cream and punch.
What about you?
kimberley replied: cute teddy bears. the boys had blue teddy bears and jade didn't really have a theme but everything was pink and the balloons had 1 on them. not sure what we will do for Kaleigh.
huggybugboy replied: I have no clue...haven't even thought about it. People keep telling me "wow, he's almost a year old!" and I keep replying with "no, he's only 9 months!" I don't want him growing up so fast! We'll probably just have a couple of small family parties but I don't know. There are three March babies in our little church that will be turning 1 this year. So we'll see. Your themes sound cute! I'm sure she'll love whatever you choose.
Kaitlin'smom replied: I love the Unicorn one
this was Kaits
fashionmumofboys replied: I had Winnie the Pooh for Rambo and for Alesio I had just a teddy bear theme.
