What size Huggies does your 10-mth-old wear?
anita wrote: Hi,
I'm new here. We're adopting a baby internationally and she will be 10-mths-old when we go to pick her up. As diapers are not easily available over there, we'd like to carry a 1-mth supply with us.
I'll buy the Huggies (with gigglelastic or whatever it's called) at Costco (they no longer carry Pampers) and would like to know what size I should get and how many per day.
The orphanage is not willing to give us her current weight so I can't use that to estimate.
So, what size Huggies does a 10-mth-old use? And how many will I need per day?
Thanks in advance. ~Anita
TeagansMom609 replied: Well I couldnt vote because my daughter was in a size 2 at 10 months. But i would say most babies are a size 3. The good thing about size 3 diapers is they have a big weight range. Most of them are from 16-28 lbs. Your child could be in that size for a loooong time. So I would say go with a 3.
ediep replied: yes, I agree that most babies would probabaly wear size 3 and would go through about 5 or 6 a day.
Maddy'sMom replied: I would say size 3 Huggies...we use Luvs, and they fit smaller, so we will need to move to a 4 anytime now. They overlap- size 3 is 16-28lbs, but size 4 starts at 22, and our 10 month old is 20lbs, so she's right inbetween I think.
It's just her chubby thighs that make them too snug!
We use probably 5 a day.
Good Luck!
A&A'smommy replied: Yeah most 10 month olds wear a 2 or a 3.... It depends on weight, and height.
Jamielou replied: I agree laney was in a 3 then and still is at 16.5 months. Now that i think about it she actuslly started wearing a 3 at around 6 or 7 months but she was a little chubby then now she is long and skinny and can still wear them
toothytracie replied: Olivia is small for her age and she is almost 10months old and wears a size 3.
moped replied: I might vote for 3 or 4........you don't want them too small - and congratulations on your new addition coming soon!
moped replied: And, I would say about 6 per day..............
mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: Wil still wears size 3 and he is almost one year old. He's been wearing them for several months now, but he is a bit leaner then most babies his age. I would go with 3's. Congrats!
akbutterfly83 replied: Mason is 7 months and is in a 5, so I don't know.... it's all the weight, height, and I say build.... that's why Mason is in a bigger size, cause his legs are bigger..... and his hips... so it's hard to tell.....
Hope you get the right ones...... Good Luck.....
Warbride replied: First let me say CONGRATS!!!!!!!
Joe is 6 months and in size 3, has been for over a month. My guess would be to buy small packs of different sizes, 2, 3 and 4. if they're a little snug it's ok, but not if they're tight(at least that's what mom and grandma say) or, if you're going to have access to a washer and dryer, try getting cloth diapers. if you can wash every other day, 24 or so will be plenty. Just don't forget to buy diaper pins and covers also. Cloth diapers fit just about any size baby, so if they are an option, it might be a little easier on you.
MyBrownEyedBoy replied: Logan must be built similarly to Wil, he has also been in size 3 for several months now and is 11 months old. I vote for 3.
