What should we call her? - nicknames for Alexis

We do that a lot too. I have acutally been calling her Ally for the past few says, but that is really confusing The Boy, he calls her baby Wexis.

jcc64 replied: In the beginning, we had intended to call Corey CJ, and that's what some of the boys' friends still call her, but somehow it never materialized, and we call her plain old Corey. Nicknames should just evolve on their own. My real name is Jeanne Marie, that's what everyone called me until about 2nd grade when a teacher started calling me Jeanne (as in I Dream of...) and it just stuck. Now only relatives I see occasionally still use my given name.

That could also be kept in mind for later down the line too. Maybe she will be develop a second nickname for within the family, and keep Ally or Alexis for outside the family.

Boys r us replied: I'm over the whole "alex" era...so right now I'm refusing to let anyone call our Alexandra, Alex. I am not fond of Lexi either..once someone said Sexy lexi in reference to her,that pretty much did it!

So we're sticking with Ali. Actually, in the last couple of weeks Ali-belle has come out of my mouth a few times(I think it happened b/c i'm torn between calling her Ali or Miabella). So who knows! We named Braedon with the gameplan of calling him brady, but that never happened..so I figued her nickname will come on it's own as well!!!

So..to answer your question, if I had an Alexis, I would probably call her Alexis. The name isn't really that long that it mandates a routine nickname in place of her true name..however..a cutsie little nickname that just happens on it's own is always good!!

BabyOwen427 replied: I voted 'other'. My husband is Curtis, but all his friends call him 'Cake' it evolved from 'Cheesecake' because he once ate a whole cheesecake by himself. He is also called 'Cheese'. Now Owen (our son) is sometimes called 'BabyCake', or 'Cheeseit'. None of these names I ever would of chosen to call him, but I catch myself calling him BabyCake all the time.
Someting crazy will come up, and weather you like it or not it just might stick, I think Wexie is adorable.
