What kind of face soap do you use??

mckayleesmom wrote: Since we have moved to NC...my face has been breaking out horribly...I have never had a zit problem till now...not even as a teenager. I usually get 1 or 2 around the time I get Aunt Flo and that is it.....But this is just rediculous.

So....Im looking to find a good moisturizer and face wash......any reccomendations?

grandma replied:
I get my cleanser and moisturizer from the dermotologist office I go to. But even before that I have very dry sensivtive skin, so I used some products for same, can't remember which ones tho.

Anthony275 replied: maybe try proactive?

HuskerMom replied: I use Dove, it works pretty good.

Brias3 replied: I used Clinique facial soap and their Dramatically Different moisturizing lotion. The soap cleanses well and doesn't leave my face feeling really taut. I swear by their moisturizing lotion too- I've used it for years.

I also like Clarins products for face care.

grapfruit replied:
I'm feeling ya, ever since I stopped b/c WATCH OUT!!! I am actually starting to feel self concious about it. sad.gif I've NEVER broken out before and now it's horrible. Throw some added stress and it's over the top. tongue.gif I'm right now making sure I scrub my face a couple times a day (just in the problem spots).

But I think I'm going to have to try some "real" acne fighter stuff. sleep.gif

sparkys2boys replied: Im a dove girl here, have been for years. I don't seem to have any problems with it.. GL hope you find something that works for you hug.gif

mckayleesmom replied: Thankfully the ones on me arn't visible....but I can feel them.....Driving me insane.

moped replied: I have used everything and spent a pile of money.....right no wI use a canadian product Biostrat and man it has GREAT, cleared me right up.

Moisturizer is very important as well....I used the wexler line for that

ZandersMama replied: i use the clean and clear brand facial scrub and moisturizer. its pretty cheap and does the trick for me.

Our Lil' Family replied: I use the Clean & Clear that also takes off makeup....one step is what I aim for!

MoonMama replied: I use a Clinique facial soap too, and I also use Chanel moisturizers (I use Chanel makeup too). Good luck I hope you find something that works. hug.gif

CantWait replied: Noxema. That's the best thing I've found for my face. Sometimes for a change I switch to Spectro Gel.

Hillbilly Housewife replied: Never really used anythingn on my face. i don't EVER use soap, soap dries out your skin.

I get a blemish or two when i get aunt Flo too... but hemoroid cream takes care of it overnight. wink.gif

Jackie012007 replied: I use St. Ive's apricot scrub - but it's not good if you have sensitive skin, as the grain in it is really harsh. I have issues with dry flaky skin and an oily t-zone and zits on my chin - it has always worked well for me!

lisar replied: I use Ponds.

Boo&BugsMom replied:
I second Proactiv. I have used it for years, and a little goes a long way. I actually have an overstock of it right now. It "seems" expensive, but if you use the actual recommended amount and don't overuse it, it's pretty affordable compared to other things.

Anthony275 replied:
did you ever get that 4th tube that makes things go away at night? if you did, did it make it go away, but then break out again?

Mommy2Isabella replied: I use stuff from the dermatoligists office, called SkinCueticals ... you can get it online just google the name! Its PRICEY but last FOREVER and works REALLY REALLY GOOD!

My2Beauties replied: I don't really have problems with zits but started to notice a few weeks back that a few were starting to sprout up, probably due to stress so lately I've been using ProActiv (Desiree's leftover, it doesn't work for her) but it works well for me, my zits cleared up, but it does make my face a teeny bit dry.

Other than that, I usually use whatever I can find on sale, I don't really have a problem with breakouts.

Boo&BugsMom replied:
YES! The mask? It is a miracle I tell ya. Just like Jessica Simpson says (where's Twelvevoltman??? laugh.gif )..."just a dab". It does work very well. I use it a lot for spot treatment.

Anthony275 replied:
did that ever make you get spots in the place where it was? it may just be mine, the tube is a couple of years old

holley79 replied: I use Mary Kay 3 in 1 cleanser and the Timewise moisturizer.

Maddie&EthansMom replied: I love this face scrub that I got at Bath and Body Works. It leaves my face so soft!!!! It's lemon something...and they don't sell it anymore!!!! bawling.gif I hate when they do that!!

Boo&BugsMom replied:
No spots here. I wonder if you are allergic to it? Do you have darker skin? I have noticed if you were to wipe it on a towel, it will bleach the towel a bit. Kind of freaky actually. Same with the cleanser. I have to use a whitish towel when I wash my face or the cleanser bleaches it...that, or I have really really cheap towels. laugh.gif Maybe it's doing the same thing to your skin like it does my towels? unsure.gif

gr33n3y3z replied:
same here smile.gif

Anthony275 replied:
i do have dark skin but i doubt im allergic to it
is it supposed to smell sortof like clay? the box said it expired in january but i used it before january- whatever theres no difference with it anyway. its just whenever i use it, the spot goes away for a few days but then i break out but in only that area

luvbug00 replied: i use dove. then i astringent the heck out of my face and then i mostureize with my bare minerals face cream. it's workin', happy.gif

mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: Eucerin or Cetaphil. I've tried a lot of products and what works for one person definitely doesn't work for all. I would probably go to a dermotalogist and have them determine your skin type. Zits are more related to hormones and genetics, then from what products you use really. JMO.

grandma replied: I've also used Cetaphil and it's good for me too.

Hillbilly Housewife replied:
Zits are just what happen when the oil glands in your skin pores get clogged, and pus is what comes out when you pop them. You should NEVER pop them, though, because if there happens to be an infection, you can spread it to other pores.

They can also happen when you have a build-up of toxins... which is when you would get that infection I just mentionned.

When the pores are clogged with skin cells and oil, you get what they call a Whitehead.. small white bump. When it reaches the surface... it can look like what they call a blackhead.. and no, it's not the dirt, it's actually from melanin, which is what gives color to your skin and hair.

When you get a red zit, it's because the walls of the pores broke. Which is wy you should NEVER pop a zit..because you break the walls, in essence. That's dangerous because if it breaks further into your skin, it can cause acne nodules or cysts. Those can cause permanent scars.

Actively scrubbing yoru face actually kind of defeats the purpose of eliminating zits... because by washing it / scrubbing it, you're taking more natural oils off, and so your body kind of goes on overdrive to make up for it... which is why most people, when starting a new facial regimen, break out. You shouldn't actually "wash" your face more than once a day.

As for clearing up what you already do have, a facecloth with HOT water on it for about 20 seconds is good enough, immediately followed by a COLD facecloth. The hotness opens up your pores, alloweing the buildup of skin cells and oils to escape, and the coldness closes them back up again. wink.gif
