What kind of car did you drive in HS?

I had a 1977 Chevy Malibu Classic with an tape deck stereo. Everyone called it the CANCER MOBILE. I thought it was because I smoked, but I found out it was because it was so rusty People would come up to my car and kick it, lol. Also, the ignition didn't lock so you could steal the car without keys. Sometimes when we were in drama practice, one of my friends thought it was funny to take off with it.
It also had a huge hole in the trunk. My friends and I didn't know it until we got ahold of a bottle of Peach Schnappes and we hid it in the trunk so noone knew we had it. We went out one night only to find out we must of lost it out the hole!


Not sure if we've had this "topic" before. It came to mind because I drive by a very "rich" catholic school every day to work and most of those kids drive beamers, and other fancy cars. So it made me think about my old car.

Lily replied: I had a light blue 1984 Nissan Sentra. It was a good little car. I gave it to my dad after I got a new one and he drove it for another 5 years till it finally died. Blew a head gasket and threw a rod. But it was over 20 years old and never had anything major replaced. Good little car!

Well my sister and I (she is 16 months older) we supposed to get one to share but since she wrecked and totaled my parents car, just before I got my licenes, we did not get one. I did not really understand then, but I guess I do now, they had to pay off that car and get a new one I wanted to buy one it was a VW Beetle red convertable $500! but my parents would not let me

That's not embarassing at all! My aunt didn't drive and didn't get her license until she was in her mid 30's. I have come across a lot of people that don't drive. So don't be embarassed at all! Some days I wished I didn't!

Julie (jem0622) replied: I didn't have a car until I was 18. Didn't get my license until I was 18 either. I bought a car off of my sister before she moved to FL. 1978 Chrysler LeBaron. 318 engine. That car was sweet! Too bad it went up in a ball of flame (literally).

A&A'smommy replied: Well for most of the time I didn't need a car (I wanted one though) because every guy I dated already had one. My parents told me that if I wanted my licence that i had to get a job, which I didn't do LOL.

MylittlePaige replied: No car here either but it is my own darn fault. I wrecked my Mom's 3 month old Toyota Camera after having my license for less then 6 months. It took me awhile to drive again and after that my Mom was like NO WAY! When I went to College I bought a used Mazda Protege with like 90,000 miles, I drove that thing till it finally croaked with about 50,000 more miles on it. I loved that car, I had all kinds of stickers and fun seat covers. It was definitely a "college life" car.

megsmommie replied: Um, I didn't have a car in high school. But dh, which was my bf at the time did. He had a Duster. Lmao. I didn't get my license until I was.....24!!! And my first car was and still is a '99 Honda Civic LX.

paradisemommy replied: lol i had a 1980 Mercury Zephyr and i hated it. the thing was huge and white..i swear people thought i was a cop when i was driving down the road because they would slow down and get out of the way so i could pass! so then my dad traded that one in and got a bronze/copper 1982 or 3 toyota sr5..lot smaller but still a piece of crud. i was a really ungrateful kid but look back now and think, yeah i was lucky to at least have a car. i went to a really rich/snobby high school and everyone drove really nice cars so i felt so ashamed of my piece of you-know-what!!!

mummy2girls replied: I didnt drive in HS but at age 21 i did get my first car a 1988 dodge colt. It was a peice of poo. After about a year of having this thing the drivers wndow couldnt roll down or up, you couldnt get out of the backseat from the inside.LOL someone had to let you out from the outside. And the bumper was ready to fall out and it started to burn oil really bad. Everyonme would laugh at me because once i starting going after stopping at a red light the cloud of smoke i left behind was insane! I got rid of it because i was starting to get poisened from the smoke and exhaust coming into the car.UGH!

The car i have now is a ford taurus and i love it!

I wasn't allowed to use my car except to drive to Drama practice and to work. I got to occassionaly take it out with my friends, but that was rare.

I always had a boyfriend in hs and they always had a car though, lol.

LOL. The reason I got the 77 chevy classic is because I wrecked my mom's car 4 months after getting my license, but technically it wasn't my fault Then I wrecked her car again the next year around the same time, but that was not my fault either, lol.

my first car in HS (which to be fair WAS old even then lol) was a 1972 MG Midget

I had a job in high school,,got my licence at 17 amd bought my first car at 18...A 1993 Saturn.....then a car wash malfunctioned and fell on it a year later. With the insurance money from that I got a brand spanken new 2000 Pontiac Sunfire....unfortunately I let my ex fiance co-sign and when I left him he started stalking me...so I signed it over to him so that he had no other reason to contact me anymore......he still contacts me...
