What is your ideal Mother's Day

coasterqueen wrote: WITH the kids? (edit to add right punctuation) tongue.gif Dh asked me again last night what I wanted to do for Mother's Day. I originally thought I'd like to go down to St. Louis, stay in a hotel and go to the zoo. The girls would love that and it would be so much fun to go as well as watch their happy faces going through the zoo. Now I'm starting to think I'd rather stay closer to home. Mainly because the week before is Megan's surgery and the week after we are going to St. Louis to visit our friends again. So it seems like too much to travel down there two weekends in a row. So now I've got to decide what I'd like to do closer to home. Maybe a picnic at the park and a walk through of our local zoo. Not sure.

mckayleesmom replied: My ideal mothers day would be a nice dinner at home with my kids.....not doing anything all day. Then after they are in bed...I head to a hotel for 2 days all by myself with a good book, chocolate and candles.....No interuptions... rolling_smile.gif

luvbug00 replied: with mya, a trip to a theame park. in this dream i could afford to buy her whatever she wanted for one day.

mummy2girls replied: Breakfast in bed would be nice, the chance tio sleep in. And to be with Jenna and Marcus...

Maddie&EthansMom replied: A day with my family, preferrably spent away from the house. A picnic sounds great, as does the zoo or aquarium! Even planting flowers sounds fun.

luvmykids replied: My ideal Mothers Day is spending it with my mom and the kids, which is usually how it works. I think this year we're going to a nice brunch after church and then going shopping.

The best one I've had so far was when DH made me breakfast in bed, bought flowers for the yard, and we planted them together then had steak on the grill wub.gif

Calimama replied: Waking up to DH and Miabella. wub.gif

Our Lil' Family replied: Sleeping in, breakfast in bed, late church, lunch out.....hmm...not sure what else...probably just anything away from home, like Aimee said. I'm home way too much.

Kaitlin'smom replied: so your passing this out to all the DH's? laugh.gif

well I think something like breakfast in bed and of cousre I share, and someplace beautiful and peaceful, like a museum, flower guardin, the butterfly place (I think there is one around here) zoo or aquarium, but those are a bit to far to go and really enjoy them that day cause I want to have either steak or chicken on the barbi LOL oh and a nice long massage.

AlexsPajamaMama replied: breakfast in bed
no housework
be spoiled all day long

My2Beauties replied: Breakfast in bed
No housework to do all day
A massage and facial
Mani and Pedi
Shopping (of course)
Dinner at the best steakhouse in town

Hey a girl can dream can't she? laugh.gif

lisar replied: besides some peace and quite??? I am not sure.

coasterqueen replied:
So this is what you want to do WITH your kids on Mother's Day? tongue.gif

lovemy2 replied:
Will he be home ohmy.gif That would be sooo awesome wub.gif

Like everyone else - just to be with my DH and kids and my Mom too - unfortunately DH works on Mother's Day so we will go to church - breakfast with my Mom or something then out to dinner with DH and the kids and my Mom - so basically I don't have to cook - just eat!!!

My2Beauties replied:
laugh.gif I did say a girl can dream can't I...LOL! No on actual Mother's Day I will most likely do something special with the kids, like the zoo or something. I meant this would be nice for DH to get me as a "day out" sort of gift for another day! LOL!

Boys r us replied: Yeah LeaAnn..a girl CAN dream wink.gif wink.gif wink.gif wink.gif (I'm growing ever more fond of the winky smiley)

Uhmmm....

Well, I would LOVE to sleep in, especially considering that my little brother's graduation from VA Tech is the day before at 8:30am!!!!!!!!!! WTH? LOL So yeah..I want to sleep in on Sunday and then we are going to get up and go for a long drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway to a place called Chateau morisette ( www.thedogs.com) for a mother's Day Luncheon with both sets of parents(mine and ricks) and a winery tour and wine tasting. Then home to relax.....

coasterqueen replied: wink.gif wink.gif wink.gif

I was just asking Lea Ann that because my question was what is your ideal Mother's Day WITH your kids. That's why I asked if that is what she'd do on MD wink.gif wink.gif wink.gif wink.gif

I agree a girl can dream, just don't think I'd dream about doing those types of things with my little kids. wink.gif wink.gif

Boys r us replied: ohhh you like the winkey too wink.gif wink.gif wink.gif wink.gif wink.gif wink.gif

Yeah I wasn't really referring to you..I was just saying to LeaAnn that a girl can always dream. wink.gif

coasterqueen replied: I do like that smiley. biggrin.gif wink.gif

jcc64 replied: Sleeping in for once, having my house completely cleaned top to bottom, and dinner with my family.

luvmykids replied:

A&A'smommy replied: hmmm my ideal mothers day would be an breakfast in bed, church and yummy lunch with our mothers and then to be spoiled the rest of the day, oh and maybe go to the park or something fun just us.
