The main reason I left was because of all the disagreements and flaming, and fights, and jealousy, and insults...etc...you get the picture, you were there. I didn't like how a lot of people there got *together* as little inner groups, and how everyone else thought they were only responding to each other's posts...etc..etc.... I was fairly active on the expecting club, but I rarely ever posted on the playgroup, because really that's when things turned sour.

I don't think that anyone here who was at PP is someone who flames...although I do recognize some names, the past is the past, and I don't CARE who everyone used to post as, because I came here to get away from all the negativity. I checked in sometime in March, and one of the first posts I saw was a link inviting ppl to this board, I clicked on it, and never looked back.

Sorry for the rant... I just *really* don't like PP.

I'm still pretty active on the pp boards... it's gotten a lot better (especially now that I am more used to the format). Most of the people (all?) who were so obnoxious have branched off to another board into their own little secret society which excludes most of us. I was pissed at first, feeling left out, but now I'm glad they are gone. The board is much more supportive and fun now.

That being said, I spend much more time over here. I love you guys!

Schnoogly replied: That is so true--that happened with our PG as well...they all defended themselves as not being divisive and clique-y but we all knew that's what was happening.

The other boards I still visit didn't have that kind of negativity in the first place, and I really have to thank the women of the heart defects board for helping me get through Iain's surgeries.

jdkjd replied: I was jdkjd but I was actually more active on the ParentSoup expecting and playgroup Sept. boards. The ParentSoup board didn't have the drama but the new format was really not user-friendly.

And I loved this board so it was an easy transition although I do still visit those other boards every once in a while.

I posted on TOK, ezzo debate, homeschooling, current debate, nov01, july03 and occasionally in ohter places.

Now I come here, go to theparentsperspective and the nov01 group started their own board i go to every now and then.

I will read the ezzo board and july 03board at PP still but nothing else. all the TOKers I cared about moved to parentsperspective and now even most of the july03ers have too.

Some of the stuff that happened on our August 2002 playgroup board was pretty funny--- lots of temper tantrums and hurt feelings. I am glad to be here with a new group, and this board seems very friendly!!!

Vicki--did you find the AP board at PP to be really strange?? The times I lurked it seemed so harsh--people calling each other names and misinterpreting each others' posts and being real beeyatches if you KWIM? I never posted there 'cause I was scared to! I felt much less hard core AP than most people there and I was afraid of getting yelled at!!!

Yes, I did think it was a bit weird!! Actually, I didn't even know I was practicing AP, until I clicked on the PP AP board one day and realized that co-sleeping and breastfeeding on demand were components of this style of parenting. Most of the folks on that board were a little TOO into it, if you know what I mean! Most seemed to be vegan, hypergranola and really militant about others who were not the same!!

So, my answer is YES!! I found the board to be very strange, indeed.
