What is the theme in your bedroom?
JessC wrote: Mine is Palm tree/green colors. I want to get a new theme. Maybe paint some walls or something.
ANYWAYS... whats your theme?
alice&arik replied: I don't have one . I wish I did. I think they are so cool and inviting. Well I do have mostly blue colors in my BR, but they don't match. My bed is a twin and it is a blue-blue, then I have a bed set that is mostly blue plaid that matches the blue curtains. But my wall decorations and pictures don't match anything.
jolene555 replied: hmmmm . . . a theme? how about "trashed"? since we've moved our bedroom hasn't gotten around to being decorated, but someday it will be dark reds, browns, and gold. very romantic.
Boys r us replied: We don't have a theme theme!
I guess the only thing that could be thought of as a theme in our room is that we have a tray ceiling and the indention covers almost the whole center of the ceiling and the indention is painted a deep salmon color and then on the ceiling coming out from the tray we handpainted green vines with little deep salmon colored rose buds. I'll have to see if I can find a picture! It took hours upon hours to do! But our room is done in the salomn color and a deep wine with greens(as far as the curtains and comforter)
Jamison'smama replied: I don't have a theme but here is a link to the bedding I have--I would take a pic of my own but I have a child sleeping in it so the bed's not made.
My walls are the same color as the site as well so it does look a little similar.

My2Beauties replied: We dont' have a theme at all! When we were moving *sigh* it was going to be in lavender and white! Very pretty!
coasterqueen replied: Our theme is kinda a mixture of lighthouses/sailboats, oceany theme. Course in the almost 6 years we've been in this house we've never fully finished our bedroom. And since having Kylie all my knicknacks and lighthouse floor shelves, etc have been put away so my bedroom is pretty bare right now.
Boys r us replied: here is a picture of the bedroom ceiling
texasp3 replied: Hmmm... I think mine could best be described as "things I inherited from my Mother when she moved into a teeny apartment."
We moved into a new house in January of 04 and I went on bedrest 2 weeks later. Then with a baby in the house it's just been nuts... so I haven't really decorated anything!
EVENTUALLY, my master bedroom will have a deep red (maybe more deep purple) and gold thing going. I have some nice artwork in there - one piece from my MIL and one that belonged my grandmother. I have my grandmother's dressers which includes a terrific old mirror that hangs above a six drawer (side-by-side) dresser. The dressers should be refinished someday but in the meantime they're better quality than you can get today - unless you're willing to spend thousands of dollars on a dresser!! I have some great fabric to make drapes out of ... someday..
HEY.. THAT'S my theme... "someday!"
texasp3 replied: Nichole - that cieling work is GORGEOUS!!! We have a huge wall (high cielings) that our head board is up against. DH is a freak about not sleeping with anything hanging on the wall over his head so I've been trying to figure out a way to pretty up that wall... I love your vines... it's definitely giving me ideas!
Boys r us replied: Thanks!! I'm kind of fond of it too!
you could do some many things!!!! One of my fave things on a wall is a window painted on the wall and like have a scene from the venice or something, like a gandala ride, with great white crackled italian buildings on each side of the water! So you'd be looking out your "window" into Italy!
texasp3 replied: Yowza!!! I like that A LOT!!! Probably the only way I'm getting to Italy any time soon.
Do you have a source for patterns/designs ?
Boys r us replied: No sorry!! We freehanded this with the little paint pens. But I do have a picture from Italy that I can post for you to see what I'm talking about as far as the picture. But, you could probably have someone do it for a good price..no more expensive than buying a nice painting to hang over your DH's head
ETA: The Italy pics are on my home pc, so I will post it when I get home!
JessC replied: yes i agree also, very pretty ceiling I love the flowers around it!
kit_kats_mom replied: Right now it is a mixture of the old exercise equipment being used as catch-alls, baby room and inherited stuff.
I'm slowly working my way through our new house and decorating room by room. Our bedroom will be the last room to get done though.
BUT This is my plan for the room. My uncle made a large oil painting for our wedding gift. It is a picture of the golden gate bridge that we took when we were on our honeymoon in SF. The frame we picked is kind of beachy-worn-white washed wood. I plan on decorating around that picture and using the blues and whites as my main colors and maybe some reddish orange to make the bridge pop.
here's a picture of the painting.
mommy2owen replied: Right now we dont have a theme, we dont even have a bedroom! We are in the middle of redoing the room, (painting, carpeting, ect.) so we sleep in the spare-bedrrom!
~Roo'sMama~ replied: Theme? Well right now it's got lovely pink and white paneling on the walls, and our bed is barely covered with a too small black and turquoise comforter *borrowed* from my mom and there are boxes and clothes strewn about. Oh and don't forget the dog hair - nice touch. We're supposed to be sheetrocking our upstairs right now but it's just not happening. I'm REALLY hoping we can get it done before June! Someone please tell me why I let dh talk me into buying a fixer-upper? Oh and my cat peed on our down comforter last summer and I still haven't taken it to get cleaned.
Maddie&EthansMom replied: Yeah, no kidding!! This is our SECOND fixer upper.
Our bedroom (for now) is painted red. Bright red at that. It is about to get painted a pretty gold color. I just bought a new comforter. It is deep red and it has gold scrolls in it. It is SO PRETTY. Our bedroom and bathroom right now is red white and blue. I like it, but we have had it so long and I'm tired of it. I want something a little more 'mature'. We have a plaid Ralph Lauren comforter and our bathroom matches the bedroom with red/white and blue striped wall paper. We have the Ralph Lauren towels to match. It really is pretty...I'm just tired of looking at it. We have some light houses and nautical type stuff going on in there.
Maddie&EthansMom replied: It is called a trompe l'oeil
Marie I have a book you can borrow that tells you how to do it and gives you ideas. I'm thinking of getting my brother to do one in our bedroom (he's an artist)
Maddie&EthansMom replied: Well, the picture wouldnt' come up.
texasp3 replied: Awesome.... it's not very high up on my to-do list though. First I need to finish Gabriel's room... then Michael's bathroom... THEN I'll think about which room to do next. IF we're still living here ... at the rate I go, you never can tell!
moped replied: Wish I had a theme
Builder Taupe walls and a bed and a couple of dressers - UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
No theme!
loveydad replied: *laughing still afte rthis page took about 13 minutes to load* THEME!? LoL kidding.
Our walls our white and the bedding is nice and the furinture is nice. but no theme. I mean the only time we do something special in there, the lights are off.
3forme replied: We have suns, moons, and stars. At first Jim didn't like it because the suns and moons have faces. He said it was creepy! He has gotten used to it though. LOL!
