What do you think could be wrong with Ashley?
MommyToAshley wrote: Earlier today and then again tonight, Ashley has been pulling at her throat. I ask her what is wrong and if she has a sore throat and she just says "neck." I thought maybe she was just playing with her neck since it is a new a body part that she just learned how to say. But, then in the bathtub, she made a really nasty face and grabbed (pinched at) her chest. I wonder if her reflux is back. Has anyone heard of reflux returning after almost a year? Maybe she has a sore throat? But, she seems to be eating and drinking fine. She doesn't have a fever or a stuffy nose. The only other symptom is that she was hard to get to sleep tonight (if that is a symptom)
Any ideas?
mummy2girls replied: im not sure if reflux could return... but maby she has a chest and throat infection happening. Im sorry i cant be of any help...take her in to get checked tomorrow if she gets worse...(((HUGS)))
momtobe replied: Yes reflux could reoccur after kids outgrow it. Not very often but it does happen. Even kids that had reflux that outgrew it comes back as adults. I know this little boy that had reflux diagnosed at a few months old that did out grow it but then at 27 months showed mild signs of reflux. Then he ended up having surgery as it got really bad.
I hope she just has a sore throat if anything. I hope she has nothing!!!
aspenblue1 replied: maybe she has tonsilitus. Isabella had that and its very painful.
coasterqueen replied: Yes, I have heard it come back after 1 yr of age. There was another lady on another board I frequent that said it happened to her son recently and he was a sept 02 baby too :-(
MomToMany replied: Sorry I have no advice for you; I don't have any experience with reflux. I'm really hoping that it's nothing serious. I hope Ashley feels better soon!! Lots of to you!!
ediep replied: I would guess sore throat. I would call the ped just to ask.
Hope she feels better soon
kimberley replied: sorry i don't have any advice for u... just hugs
how is she feeling today? did she sleep okay? update when u can.
MommyToAshley replied: She seems to be doing better today. She has been happy and playing all day today.
Once she finally went to bed for good last night, around 10PM, she slept through until 8AM. (She normally sleeps from 8PM-8AM) I did notice that she was pulling at her chin last night too... so I finally got to look in her mouth (which isn't an easy task) and she has another molar coming in on the bottom. So, maybe that was bothering her. But, that doesn't explain what happened in the bathtub. I will just keep a close eye on her. Thanks for asking.
momma2jenna replied: M2A, just a thought, but have you checked to see if her glands are swollen? There are some behind her ear down by the earlobes, also there are glands under her chin, close to the bone that forms her jawline and then there are some on her neck a little over halfway down~where the neck muscle protrudes, on the side of her neck. It may give you an idea if she indeed has some sort of infection going on! Hope that helps, and she's not getting sick!
MommyToAshley replied: Thanks for the suggestion... I checked and none of her glands are swollen, so I guess that is a good sign. She seems to be doing fine today so far.
kimberley replied: glad she is feeling better but i would mention in to her ped next visit. it could just be her teeth though. to you and Ashley.
