What do you guys think of this bedroom? - Hanna's Christmas Present (pics)

My2Beauties wrote: OK so I've been looking online and Hanna is getting a toddler bed for Christmas, I wanted to do her whole room in it, there is also a canopy and a hamper that goes with this in an Avon book that I am going to order if I get this set, but this set isn't in Avon, I found it online. The theme is the Disney Princesses, let me know what you think and if it's too much?? Be honest, because I've gone Disney Princess happy, I love it, even her b'day cake is going to be Disney Princess rolleyes.gif

here are the pics:

Here is the bed:

Here is the bedding (note the bedding will be on the bed above not the one shown)

And this is a vanity mirror, it sits up on a desk, I really have no place for it but it's fairly cheap and I think it's adorable but DH probably won't go for it:

What do you guys think??? wub.gif wub.gif love2.gif love2.gif

Boys r us replied: sleep.gif I can't see your pics b/c my stupid job has the website blocked! Just get the little red X!
I'll look when I get home!

moped replied: OH MY it is gorgeous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You are going to get all those peices??????????

mckayleesmom replied: I like all those pieces....I can direct you to a really pretty disney princess lamp if you want??...Let me know...Mckaylee wants her room in princesses too...You will have to let me know where you got that stuff.

My2Beauties replied: Jen - well the bed, bedding, nightstand for sure, the canopy and hamper for sure too but I can't get to the avonsite from work to get pics!!! rolleyes.gif They're so cute. I want to get every piece, but all together they probably total close to $300 which isn't bad for everything, but we really don't have that kind of money unless that is all she is getting for Christmas and I know I want to get her a potty training doll and some Leap Frog toys too (which are sort of expensive in and of themselves)

Brianne - you can get it at wal-mart, target, or burlington coat factory that I know of so far, there is also a whole bedding set in Avon on last weeks catalog, go to their website you'll see it, but that is just mainly the bedding, hamper, a closet organizer and stuff, no furniture. Where is the lamp, I saw one on a website but I'd love to look at more! wub.gif

Debra replied: I love it all! My daughter would love it! She loves the Princesses as well! If I had the money, I'd buy it all! emlaugh.gif

mckayleesmom replied: I posted the lamp for you...As for the bedding...Mckaylee is getting our queen size bed as soon as we get our new one...so I might just make her a patch quilt with different disney princess themes.

jcc64 replied: Corey is completely obsessed with the Disney Princesses- she watches "Cinderella" daily(!).
While individually, they are all cute- I think in total it's kind of overkill, for a variety of reasons. Once she outgrows the princess thing- you're stuck with all of it, kwim? I don't think you need the bed AND the bedding- I would probably get the bedding and choose a simpler white bed that will accomodate the next thing she's into. And maybe you don't need both the toy organizer and the toy chest. I like both of them, but would probably go with the toychest b/c you can see the details from more than one side, unlike the organizer. And I think the little vanity mirror and night-table are adorable- I would probably get both of those b/c they're smaller, cheaper, and really cute.
It's hard not to go nuts with the girly stuff, isn't it?

coasterqueen replied: BEAUTIFUL!!!! wub.gif

I think she'll love it. wub.gif

The only thing about the toy storage shelves is what I know from my experience. We bought one for Kylie a long time ago and it just didn't hold many toys and was really a PIA more than it was helpful. So for our family it was and still is (lol) a wasted piece of furniture.

coasterqueen replied:
Jeanne does have a point. You could just go with a few princess pieces, ones that can be taken out easily and not very expensive so it wouldn't be a problem to change out.

Although some girsl like princesses well into childhood. It's a toss up for me. rolleyes.gif

Jamielou replied: I love it all i am thinking of doing this for laney for christmas she has every toy you can imagine... i think if you have room for it than its a good idea to get all the pieces but in my opinion if you had to choose from the toy chest and the organizer i would pick the chest it is adorable..... tongue.gif

gr33n3y3z replied: I like it very nice smile.gif

My2Beauties replied: I am leaning more towards the chest myself - the toy organizer looks like a shoe rack to me in a way the more I look at it tongue.gif

bigthink.gif There's an idea, the kid has tons of shoes!

OK Now I am just looking for reasons to get it all blush.gif

Insanemomof3 replied: OMG that is adorable!!!! I wish I had another girl, then I could get all the girly stuff! HEHE I bet she will love it! thumb.gif

kit_kats_mom replied: I love it all but I tend to agree with Jeanne. I'd probably get a plain white (or pink) bed, dresser & nightstand and then use the princess theme for the accessories. BTW, Home depot had a disney princess mirror that was similar to the vanuty one but it hangs on the wall.

here are a few home depot links:

o, I cant find the mirror but I know I saw one in the store

Sarah&Mackenzie replied: I like it!!! I would get the toy organizer instead of the toy box. The desk is my fav.!!

My2Beauties replied:
thumb.gif Cool thanks! I'm gonna go to their website now!

ammommy replied: Ditto Jeanne and Cary. I like the pieces individually, but together in a small space like a bedroom, it might be overwhelming. Plus, pink bedding with a pink bed might look odd if the pinks are not quite right.

Now, to add to the princess overkill, did you know that Home Depot also sells murals that go on doors laugh.gif

Shanna replied: I think all the pieces are cute and I'd want them all too. You have a every pretty princess that needs all the pampering she can have.

My2Beauties replied: Well the other beds that I saw like the white ones were much more expensive, but like you guys said if she changes what she likes at the moment, it's easier. *sigh* Brian will be the deciding factor in all of this rolleyes.gif He'll probably laugh at half of it! LOL laugh.gif

The only thing making me want to go with the bed itself is because it's only good for kids up to 50 pounds, Hanna already weighs 32 and she'll be 2 blush.gif So I don't think she has very long in this bed, maybe 1-2 years tops, by 4 years of age she'll be ready for a twin bed. I don't know I'm confused now! LOL! cool.gif They had some castle beds that I liked better that had a drawbridge table attached and "stained glass' windows behind them which were actually nightlights but they were $300 ohmy.gif just for the bed! I can't fathom paying that for a toddler bed!

A&A'smommy replied: AWWW I think its cute but it does kinda seem like a lot are you planning on JUST putting it all in her room or spreading it throughout your apartment? Good luck with what you decide!! wub.gif

My2Beauties replied:
Thanks for the links I love the stencils and the lamps! Oh man, now I am probably going to spend more than $300 rolleyes.gif

kit_kats_mom replied: call your local consignment stores about beds. I just got home from one and they had a white toddler bed that was in perfect condition

My2Beauties replied: thanks everyone for your help, I'm trying to make it look as cute as possible without spending so much $$! LOL! Jessy Ann I live in a house and her room is pretty large so I have room for all that stuff, but it could still be overkill. I'm going to have to find out my budget and then see what I have to work with from there!

mummy2girls replied: Very cute! jenna has the same things in her room but hers is dora:) she has the bed, bedding and that chair desk and she is getting those shelves.. It is very precious! I wish jenna liked prioncess sad.gif

AussieMummy replied: Very cute! Im sure your daughter will love it!! wub.gif

Boys r us replied: AwWW!!! how precious, LeaAnn!!

She will LOVE her new room!! What if instead of the desk and chair you get her a little vanity? I had one when I was little, it was made out of brass I think and my parents have pictures of me sitting in front of the mirrow on my little pillow stool "fixing myself up" and then you could hang the mirror on the wall in front of the vanity!

coasterqueen replied: We had to go to TRU tonight to get my nephew a gift certificate and Kylie wanted to browse all the Cinderella stuff because that's her big thing now. rolleyes.gif

Anyways, they had the cutest toy boxes, stepping stools, table and chairs, etc there in the Cinderella theme. Anything you want they had almost all of it. Two of the cutest things I saw in the Cinderella theme was a play vanity with play makeup and perfume, etc. wub.gif and a life-size cinderella doll. If it wasn't that expensive I would have gotten it for Kylie for Christmas but it's out of our budget range. Oh and the cinderella kitchen....CUTE!

So you might check TRU when deciding to decorate her room wink.gif.

My2Beauties replied:
Is TRU a store in your area? I have never heard of it, do you know if they have stuff online I could order, let me try. tru.com......

OMG Karen DUH Toys R Us, rolling_smile.gif I kept this post up and went to tru.com and Toys R Us came up - arg I feel like such a blonde! LOL! I'm gonna go check it out! Thanks wink.gif
Oh I feel so stupid rolleyes.gif

My3LilMonkeys replied: I think it's all cute! wub.gif I would want to buy it all too. I would personally pick the toy chest over the organizer if you only want one.

3_call_me_mama replied: Very cute:) DH adn I were just discussing Kathleens room adn it's supposed to be carousel horses btu after seeing all tehpretty princess stuff.. we may do that. (Thanks!!) But I bet she'll LOVE IT!

coasterqueen replied:
laugh.gif You are not stupid. You are funny but not stupid. wink.gif biggrin.gif

MM'sMama replied: I LOVE it very sweet thumb.gif I can't wait to get stuff like that for Caroline love2.gif

C&K*s Mommie replied: All of those items are soooo cute! We had considered doing that for Christian, but we already had a nice twin bed, but we (well I tongue.gif ) was going to decorate her room in Disney Princess. The only thing we ended up buying was the cd player/makeup/jewelry box. We had decided against the Disney Princess theme, because of reasons that one dasy she may outgrow it, and we are left holding the bag.

However, along with Home Depot-- I had seen some cute things at Lowes, too.

Post pics when all is done!!! biggrin.gif
