What do you drive?

lovemy2 wrote: DH and I are going back and forth about buying a new vehicle this spring - we have a Ford Taurus that DH drives and I have a Dodge Grand Caravan - I love it but DH and I both want an SUV again - we had a Dodge Durango that we absolutely LOVED - but it was a gas guzzler and we don't really want another gas guzzler - but DH has a 4 wheeler that he hauls around with the minivan (real manly believe me) and we have a pop up camper so we were thinking of a smaller SUV of some sort - but let's face it Dylan still comes with alot of gear so I say we hold onto the van another year - he says why bother....I say cause I would get stuck with the car alot and don't want to sqeeze into it.....

Anyway - What do you drive, how is the gas mileage and why do you like it?

mommy~to~a~bunch replied: I drive a Suburban, DH drives either his truck or his Excursion. I want a 12-passenger van & to fill all the seats rolling_smile.gif .

grandma replied: We both drive FORD's........

Crystalina replied: We drive a Chevy Silverado (LOVE IT!). It has the cub cab for the kids and we also have the car that is nice on gas which is our Toyota Corolla but we never drive it.

luvmykids replied: I drive a Dodge Charger, and I love it but it stinks in winter weather...if they even forecast snow I slide wacko.gif Otherwise, it's great, I bought it b/c it had great safety ratings, it drives like a dream and gas mileage isn't too bad (would be better without the hemi).

As much as I love it, I really need an SUV for our winters and b/c of where we live, the dirt road I drive a million times a day hasn't exactly treated it well. The gas factor of an SUV really scares me though, I just saw that they expect gas to be $3.50/gallon by June ohmy.gif

3xsthefun replied: I drive a Mercury Mountaineer (I love it!) it is a gas hog though since it is a V8. DH drives a Subaru Outback or a Ford F150.

mckayleesmom replied: We only have 1 car right now a Kia Amante.....I want a mini van soon...

Kaitlin'smom replied: I drive a Saturn Relay gas is okay in it I just drive to much.

coasterqueen replied: We have two vehicles - Chrysler T & C mini van and a Dodge Neon. Dh is about ready to get a new vehicle sometime this year. He is settled on a truck. I like both our vehicles and they get decent mileage.

Swood75 replied: We have an 05' Taurus and an 88' Jeep Cherokee..

lisar replied:
I love my Charger..... I am with you on the dirt road thing though. It will wear and tear on the car. I dont do snow here but it will slide on ALOT of water on the road here. Gas mileage isnt that bad on it either. My dh drives a Ford F-250. GAS HOG thats all I got to say about that.

my2girls replied: I have a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee.
16 mpg around town ( I live in Vegas so the stop and go traffic is terrible!!)
22-24 highway ( depending on wind since its high profile)
I cost around $45 to fill up right now ( @2.90 a gallon) and that lasts me about 3 weeks. Our trip to Zion for 5 days and driving all of those days we sent about $120 for the whole trip.
We have been to Zion National Park with it ( great on back roads), Grand Canyon,
Valley of Fire State Park, Death Valley, Mammoth , Lake Tahoe and Hauling ATV's with it.
The seats fold down real flat and say you have something long to haul like fishing rods or 2x4's you can fold either of the back seats down flat and still have room for passengers in the back.
I love it!!

Mommy2BAK replied: i drive a tahoe... not so good on gas sad.gif

amynicole21 replied: We have a CRV and a Ford Explorer SportTrac (pick up style). I like the CRV, though it's a bit cramped with two carseats in the back.

We're looking at either a Ford Edge, Chrysler Pacifica or even a Dodge Magnum sometime this year.

A&A'smommy replied: we just got down to one vehical again we have a ford escape but its starting to get old and not work as well so we are looking into a chrysler of some sort because my dad gets a discount (he works at the mercedes plant here).

Good luck with your choice its NOT easy blink.gif

lovemy2 replied:
That is what I want - but I know DH would take it more than I could and since it isn't so good on gas we may go with something a bit smaller - maybe an Acadia or the new Saturn Outlook....

Our Lil' Family replied: I have a Chevy Trailblazer...about 18 miles to the gallon in the city.

DH has a Jeep Wrangler...gets maybe 16 miles on a good day! That's the price he pays for driving his toy.

I miss my Jeep Grand Cherokee so badly....when I replace my Trailblazer it'll be with another Grand Cherokee!

punkeemunkee'smom replied: I have a Chevy 3/4 pick-up. I LOVE to drive it but it gets horrid gas mileage! rolleyes.gif

mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: I drive a 2003 VW Passat wagon. I love it! Isn't great on gas since it's large, but not as bad as an SUV or van. I think the little Jetta wagons are probably great on gas. And I think VWs are always good for resale (we've had 5). People like them.

Boo&BugsMom replied: The only vehicles allowed in our home are apparently Dodge/Chrysler vehicles. We have a Dodge Intrepid which gets really good gas mileage...Troy's car. I drive a Plymouth Voyeger (yep, because I'm a cool mom laugh.gif ) and it gets so-so miles. I do like it though. Barely any issues with it.

TheOaf66 replied:
Lisa will apreciate that thumb.gif

Calimama replied: My car is an Expedition. Horrid on gas but GREAT on everything else. I got it just before DH deployed but I'm in love with all the neat little features I was missing out on. emlaugh.gif

Calimama replied:
BTW welcome back to the cool moms side. cool.gif laugh.gif JK!

Danalana replied: I drive a 2001 Toyota Highlander, and I highly recommend it. it is VERY roomy and gets awesome gas mileage. I have driven the heck out of it and had absolutely no problems.

My2Beauties replied: DH drives a Cadillac Deville Concours, good gas mileage and very roomy with the kids, it gets about 27 MPG on the hwy and 18-19 city.

I drive an 02 Suzuki Grand Vitara XL-7 4x4. It's a mini SUV or compact SUV as I call it, it seats 7 but not very comfortably, it's small IMHO and gets horrible gas mileage I think I might get about 18-19 mpg highway, if that. sleep.gif I want a new car so bad, but I'm really upside down on this one blink.gif

DillsMommy replied: I drive a jeep grand cheeroke and LOVE it. It's roomy, but not too big. I think it's the perfect size. Highway gas milage isn't too bad, but I do mostly "around town" driving and go through about a half tank in a day and a half. dry.gif

ZandersMama replied: I drive a Graco stroller tongue.gif Its great on gas emlaugh.gif but doesnt do well in bad weather or going any further then the grocery store. rolling_smile.gif

Cece00 replied: I have a Honda Odyssey, and really like it. I'd prefer not to drive such a big car, but I have to have it for the kids, and if I have to drive a mini, Honda is the one I want.

DH DID drive a Civic. But I totalled it yesterday afternoon. Oops! sleep.gif

So today he bought a new Chevy Malibu. I dont think it was his first choice but his dad is a dealer & got him an AMAZING deal (our payments are so LOW for a new car!) & he drove it & really likes it. I drove it today too, I have to say, its pretty nice. He probably wouldve wanted an SUV or truck but frankly, with gas prices the way they are, I am personally glad he didnt get one. We live in the city, its not like we need one.

MoonMama replied: I drive a new suzuki grand vitara (I had to exchange the Nissan Xterra due to a steering issue, but I never posed about it), and a Subaru WRX (which we just got me Monday week). Then DH has a big truck, a Subaru WRX, and his persious Mustang. rolleyes.gif Yes we have too many cars I know. blush.gif cool.gif

austins mom replied: I drive a dodge caliber.. looks like a smooshes durango. hubby drives a ford expedition.. i drive farther than he does everyday and my gas last longer.

Maddie&EthansMom replied: Lincoln Navigator. Not only does it get horrid gas mileage, but you have to use premium.

It's paid for, though. happy.gif

My3LilMonkeys replied:
I need to get me one of those and save some money! emlaugh.gif I hear they don't go very fast though. rolling_smile.gif

I drive a 15 year old minivan - a Pontiac something or other I think - ugly but cheap tongue.gif and reliable. I've only had it a month but so far it's landing 16-18 mpg.

DH drives a Chevy Blazer and he gets 15 or so city. We never drive highway so I don't know about that.

MotherForever2043 replied: I drive a '98 Mercuary Mountainer (red). It takes about $60-70 to fill up my gas tank dry.gif Seats only 5, but that's not really an issue for me. Esther sits in the fron and Jordan and Amber are in the back. I shouild be recieving my title for the car in a week, so there is no way I plan on getting a new one anytime soon. It hasn't given me any major problems during the past 5 years that I had it.
