What do you do for a living?
luvmykids wrote: I know we had one of these about your DH/SO, but what do you WOHM or WAHM's do?
Before kids I was a travel agent, loan officer, and real estate appraiser. After DH started his construction company I ran that for 3 years, but now we have a staff and all I do is our graphics, tax stuff, and reconcile the bank accounts (our version of checks and balances!). And I do the stuff for the horse farm, paying the bills, entering for races, scheduling vets, etc.
mckayleesmom replied: I was a caterer.
moped replied: I have also done a lot and was a travel agent once too but couldn't live off that so I got in the oil and gas industry - I am now a Senior Engineering Technician.........fancy title for soemone who works with and for Engineers!!!
I like it but I wish I could stay home
JP&KJMOM replied: I am a secretary (admin. asst. on my paycheck) for a Construction General Contractor. I have about 7 guys that I work for and do all their stuff.
CAMSMOM1 replied: I'm a Supervisor at an after school program for children grades K-6th. I have 60 kids in my program. I work from 2:00pm-6:00pm. (part time). I really enjoy my job, I love working with children. I also have 5 staff under me, (teachers) and they're the best. We all get along great. Latley work's been crazy, because of all the rain. The kids can't go outside, and they're full of energy! I've been with this job going on 5 years. (right out of high school, and worked my way up to my position I have now) .
But I eventually want to go back to college, finish up my child development degree, (I think I have 1.5 yrs left of school) so I can be a director of a program like mine.
Off subject, but Monica.....you said you used to be an appraiser. Can you tell me if an appraiser is coming to our house, to take photos, so we can refinance, does it matter if the house is a mess? Does it lower the value of the home?
kit_kats_mom replied: I WAH for a large company. I determine medicaid eligiblity rates for the school districts in Missouri, FL and SC. The figure I come up with, is sent to our people in finance and they mix it in with all kinds of other magical figures to help determine how much funding the district should get from the state. The project I work on is basically a liason between the state and the school district. I do database management.
in the past I was a waitress (loved it) mortgage loan officer admin assistant collections manager legal/repo person for a credit union oh, and i worked retail at the mall for a few years. My fiance at the time owned a cart that made custom car tags. He had one in each mall & I managed one. I also designed the tags & put them together since he didn't know how to use a computer
MichaelsMommy replied: I work at a software company. I've been here for 6 years. We make software for the travel industry.. luv what I do don't luv the bosses tho lol

Now, I work as a Marketing Exec. for a Referral Marketing Company called Mom Execs. They do referral marketing for a Healthy and wellness company called Melaleuca. I'm also doing photography part-time (weekends and stuff). I enjoy both so much, just wishing now that they paid over 20G's a year. lol
holley79 replied: I work for the Sheriff's Office. My job title is Admin Clerk II. To get technical I'm a report writer, warrant writer/ server, arrest report writer, etc. LOL
When Annika is a little older I will get back into the horse biz. Right now taking a break from it.
luvmykids replied: Cary-you reminded me, I left out my all time favorite job, bartending. Man those days were fun! And I thought I was rich!
Ann-it doesn't truly lower the value of the home, it just may affect the overall condition rating, say from "good" to "average" which is still subjective, I usually thought "This is a great house, it's just a mess" but the underwriters sometimes think if a house is "unkept" it isn't very well maintained either (guess they don't have kids!). It doesn't have to be spotless, just shove stuff under beds and in closets so the pics are able to focus on the actual house, KWIM? Generally on the inside I only took pics of the rooms w/ a fireplace, french or sliding glass doors, kitchens and main living spaces. I only took other pics if they had an amazing master bath, atrium, etc.
mommymonster replied: When the kids were younger I had to work, I worked at a wedding photography company and I was kinda like a wedding planner. I was my job to of course schedule all of the protraits, arrange meetings with the client and photographer, assist on photo shoots, and the funnest part, I was able to sit with the brides and help them with the small details of the wedding. It was a lot of fun!
Sarah&Mackenzie replied: I am an Office Administrator at a Potato Farm. Before this I was a waitress and also worked in a factory for a summer and they make pop cans.
C&K*s Mommie replied: I did a number of similiar things BK.
But I am going to school to become a Medical Assistant. Which I heard was a low payed LPN, because the LPN's are doing the RN jobs, and the RN's are (I heard) dabble into the PA job duties a little. I don't know if this is true or not, but that is what I am going to classes for.
I hope you never see my name on a warrant, Holley. Not that I would have any reason to have one out, but I would hope nothing comes back to rear its ugly head at me, and cause a warrant to be put out for me.
1lilpeanut2love replied: I had a few different jobs. I haven't WOHM for 2 years. I was a dog bather, a house cleaner, cashier at ARBY's, and I used to watch 2 kids.

I also worked in the Bursar's office of a college university in college and worked for a slum lord cleaning up places/getting them ready to rent.
mom21kid2dogs replied: My current job is Olivia's mom.
Before that, I worked for 22 years at a public children services agency as an adoption/ post adoption caseworker. I plan to return to that job in January 2007 (not soon enough according to my coworkers ) I also had a part time job/practicum (at the same time as my full time job) at the health department as the social worker for a perinatal clinic for about 3 years.
I've also been newspaper girl, lifeguard, office administration assistant, farm worker, fast food employee, nurse's aide, summer camp employee. Those are things I did for money. I won't even get into the stuff I've done on a volunteer basis!

I have been a customer service rep for a global company that sold compensation surveys, I did collections for hospitals as well as for a credit card company (hated collections, since I owed my own collection bills ), I was also a Quality Assurance analyst for that same credit card company, I have been one of those stupid people that call you asking you to complete research surveys over the phone (hey a girl has gotta do what a girl has gotta do) and I worked at Wendys and Kmart too. Oh yeah and I had a seasonal job at JCPenney's one Christmas season wrapping presents! Man I've done a lot of jobs.
