What did the dads get?

kit_kats_mom wrote: Dh got a pair of swim trunks, a tee shirt, the photo book I made on shutterfly, cards, an mp3 player (to replace the one he got for christmas then lost) and his fave meals...eggs/bacon & toast for breakfast & steaks, potatos & corn for dinner. He also got a 3 hour nap! rolling_smile.gif

amymom replied: My DH got to do inventory for his work. tongue.gif
Seriously that is done, I am doing the computer part for him. Now he is showering and I am taking him on a dinner cruise on the St. Lawrence River. Should be fun, I got frozen pizza and lots of snacks for the kids and they will watch a movie or two while we go on the dinner cruise. We are taking his mom for her birthday (was Friday--87 yrs young) and him for Father's day.
I'll try to take some pictures even though it is overcast and chilly it still ought to be nice.

dolfinrse replied: DH got a bathing suit, a new t-shirt, a Daddy book, and he bought himself something for his paintball gun!

mckayleesmom replied: Leithan is in Milwakee for Fathers Day, but when he gets back we are going to get him an electric barbeque rolleyes.gif

3_call_me_mama replied: Dennis got a diving wet suit, and hood (he's really into SCUBA diving right now) and cards from me and the kids (see other post.) and $$ from his parents. (He's getting a mini-van adn they gave him monsy towards it)

The kids made my FIL a shirt that says best grandpa, hands down with their hand prints on it, and cameron picked out a hat that says #1 papa on it and made each of them mugs that he wrote his name on.

A&A'smommy replied: WOW Cary!!!

Well my dh got the 8th season of M.A.S.H which he has been wanting forever.. and I printed off some pictures of Alyssa and put them into frames for his office... I also had Alyssa paint this brown paper I have (that I bought for a play and didn't need all of it) and I wrapped mash and a t-shirt I made for my dad. I took pictures but they are in my camera downstairs so I will upload them tonight and show ya'll later. The shirts I made are cute (not a cute as yours though) I need to make a few more though... what program did you use to make that?

kit_kats_mom replied:
I used photoshop to do the layout and design of the iron on & then just used fabric paint for the girls hand prints.

By the way, handprints are cool and all but OMG fabric paint and babies do not go together very well at all. ohmy.gif WHat a mess!

coasterqueen replied: DH got a Craftsman wall-hanging shop vac and Kylie made him a card. Kylie also made her pa-pas cards as well.

A&A'smommy replied:
OHhh its beautiful!!! lol about the handprints I actually wasn't going to do that but I kinda like that idea of it hmmm tongue.gif

kit_kats_mom replied: My Dh totally deserved all that stuff. He is the poster child for what a dad should be. He is so involved in the girls lives...and he really wants to be. He sacrafices his free time all the time to spend it with them. He's terribly proud of them and...well, I could go on and on. He's just the best, most involved dad I know. blush.gif

A&A'smommy replied:
awwwww well it looks wonderful you did a great job!!! wub.gif

A&A'smommy replied: Okay heres my pictures wink.gif This is everything tongue.gif

3_call_me_mama replied: Very cute Jessy! Love the shirt~

Cary LOVE the t-shirt! KWYM about the paint on the shirt. We made one for my FIL from the kids adn kathleen thought the paint was like her personal playground! She was squishing it and tryign to eat it! NEVER AGAIN! (well yeah I probably will , until I remind myself about this time smile.gif laugh.gif

Maddie&EthansMom replied: Cary that sounds great! I'm glad Woody had a great day! He sounds like he really deserves it. I feel the same about Scotty. He is an awesome father. wub.gif

We got Scotty some cologne (Polo Blue), some clothes from Old Navy (shorts and three shirts) and some Clinique skincare. happy.gif I also made a photobook for him off Shutterfly...I got the idea from you...THANKS! I just ordered it a little late so it isn't here yet. blush.gif It was hard work. laugh.gif And I got him a mousepad from Shutterfly. thumb.gif

About the photobook...you said you put poems and phrases about dads in yours. I really wish I would have done that in hindsight. sad.gif I hope it turns out okay. Were you happy with yours?? How was the quality?

ions_momma replied: My DH got a card from me and a card that Ion made him, a ton of paintballs for his paintball gun, new shorts, and a new shirt.

mammag replied: I didn't really go out an buy dh anything but he got a couple of new shirts and a gun vest for himself (that's just the way we do it here so you get what you really want). We went on a date Sat. to celebrate him. We went to the Parade of Homes and then went out to dinner at Champs. It was fun except I forgot my license and couldn't get a drink. dry.gif

Unfortunatly we spent most of yesterday building this large trampoline we got the kids. It said easy assembly! HA!!!!

ediep replied: Dh got Yankee cooler, yankee BBQ apron, sienfeld season 3 dvd, american idol cd, t shirt with Jasons pic, darth vader boxers, yankee beach towel, and cards that we made. wub.gif

I got my dad clothes and I made him a card too. wub.gif

My parents got DH a gift card to the movies! wub.gif

FIL never showed up to our Fathers Day BBQ so Dh and his bro are NOT sending his gifts!! mad.gif sad.gif

3xsthefun replied: DH just got some pictures the girls drew for him and we had a cookout so that was his father's day.

JAYMESMOM replied: My lovely DH was supposed to get a massage but traded that in so he could go to NASCAR at Michigan International.

Well luck had it they friend he was buying the ticket from ended up with garage passes, VIP room passes which included bacon, eggs, etc for breakfast. Chicken and a huge spread for snack, and Prime Rib for lunch. Plus any alcohol and pop etc until the race started for FREE.

He only spent money on my souvenier and a hat for him.

So he got to spend Fathers Day doing something he has never gotten to do before and met Elliott Sadler.

The race was a pretty good one too. I meanwhile was home with my terrible toddler. LMAO

He defintely had a better Father's Day than I had a Mother's Day. (I kicked him out on that day after we had our last big fight)

So I am defintely the one who loves him the most for this week. LOL.

He is spoiled because it was our 3 years since we met anniverasay on Wednesday and He got to tint the window on his semi, buy some leds, and gets a new chrome shifter Knob with leds.

I am planning to cash in my good points soon though. cool.gif

Kaitlin'smom replied: He got a smoothie maker, he has been wanting one for a long time, cards form Kait and I (mine caused tears wub.gif ) I took him to breakfast and then we went to a minor leaue baseball game. That was fun, but you sure do have to watch for fling baseballs ohmy.gif

I sent cards to everone else and I am taking my dad and mom (her b-day is friday) to a show next sunday night that we all want to see and I know one of the actors in it thumb.gif

his side dad(s) we will see next weekend

kit_kats_mom replied:
Why, you are so welcome wink.gif

It's really nicer than I expected. I thought the cover would be harder but it's like a flexible plastic...still quite nice. The pictures look great in it.

Maddie&EthansMom replied: Good! I can't wait to get it in. It should be here this week. blush.gif I ordered the leather hardback album. wink.gif

DansMom replied: I put together a little photo album of all the father/son photos I've taken since Daniel was born. I found a nice little album for these that fit 40 photos, but I had 41, so I put one of the nicest photos in a beautiful frame. George got filet mignon, with aglio i olio (made with real butter just for him, and a separate batch with just olive oil for Daniel and me). He also got to spend time at his studio on Sunday.

ammommy replied: Brian got pretty much what he wanted---a croquet set, badmitton set, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas (the book), and a new dress shirt. His mother got him a putter, even though he doesn't golf dunno.gif I guess it's a nice one, but he'll have her return it since at our house, it will either collect dust or become a sword for the kids.

DVFlyer replied: Must be photo season. My wife made me two 16x20 photo collages. The first one is just us and Chloe and the second is all of us.

She also made a 16x20 enlargement of Keian to go next to the picture of Chloe in my office. And then I got a "Dad" t-shirt and hat and a tool for the garage.

I scored!!!!!!!!!!!!! smile.gif

ammommy replied:
You sure did! It's great that you are so excited about pictures. I wish more dad's were like that (not talking about DH)

MommyToAshley replied: Aweee, I loved reading all the posts.

I really love the home made gifts, so cute!!!

Cary, I feel the same way as you do about your DH. I never imagined what a wonderful Daddy Rodney would make. Although, I had a clue when I was PG, he read more about child care and breastfeeding than I did! laugh.gif He is so involved with every aspect of Ashley's life, and if he's had a busy day, he will let Ashley stay up late just so they can have their cuddle time together. No one can make Ashely laugh harder or scare away monsters as good as her Daddy!! As Ashley says, "Daddy loves her this much (arms spread way apart) more than infinity!" wub.gif wub.gif I don't always tell him how much I appreciate him, so I am glad there is a special day to make sure Ashley and I say so!

Oh, sorry to ramble, to answer your question:
For Father's Day, DH got to pick out a new HDTV (although that is kind of a gift for everyone), Ashley gave him a picture frame that says I LOVE DADDY on it and a picture inside, and then we also made a stepping stone. Here's a picture of the stepping stone, but in this picture, it is still wet and in the mold so ignore the cement dust around the edges. smile.gif

Edited to add: We also took him out to eat at Don Pablo's. laugh.gif

guertin31 replied: I got the Honeymooners DVD box set, a DVD burner for the computer, breakfast in bed, and kisses from my wife... tongue.gif

Josie83 replied: Hey how weird . . . your mother's day was a different day to ours but our father's day was the same! wacko.gif How exactly does that work?!

Cassie got Jason a Staind CD to replace one that she had previously dropped and scratched rolleyes.gif and she made him one of her hilarious cards with glitter and all sorts stuck up all over. She also gave him a great big kiss an dhg and told him that he was thebest daddy ever when she ran in to see him on Sunday morning! wub.gif he seemed happy with it! wub.gif wub.gif xx
