What did everyone do and/or get - for Mother's Day?

DH cooked a big breakfast with pancakes, hashbrowns, scrambled eggs, and bacon. VERY yummy!!!! He's cooking supper, too. We didn't have dinner because we were still stuffed from breakfast!!

And of course lots of hugs and kisses!!!

booey2 replied: Hi, yesterday I went out with my sister and neice and saw Mama Mia at the theatre here and we went out for lunch. Today DH got up early, went out to Tim Hortons' got coffee and went to Krispy Kreme and brought home a dozen donughts and a 5 roses and a card from the boys. We went out the beaches here and to the bluffs and then went to the grave to see his mom and his grandparents. We are now just at home relaxing.

alice&arik replied: I got a new coffee maker, from Arik, which I needed because I threw mine out before I moved here, and a card from both of them. We just had breakfast and then went to Petsmart to see if we could get a puppy we liked for Arik. Well the only one we liked someone took. So I am going to go to the Humane Society and adopt one tomorrow. Gabe(my boyfriend is BBQing now for supper. It has been a great day, I got lots of kisses from Arik..

amynicole21 replied: I got a box of chocolates from Sophia, and a desk cd player from DH I woke up with a migrane, so spent much of the day on the couch.

Jamison'smama replied: Well, DH is out of town He will be for at least two weeks so out of the last 5 weeks he will have been gone 4. His mom is in the end stages of her cancer. Anyway, I received a jewelry box from Jamison with her picture in it, a beautiful drawing that she made, Pjs, a book and a spa pedicure!! Jamison and I spent the day going to church, having lunch then the park for a long play day---it was a great day!

kit_kats_mom replied: I got the plaster hand print and some cards on Friday. Then today DH and K picked out a pretty potted plant for me and Dh broght home a big huge loaf of warm crusty french bread and an assortment of cheeses. YUMMY!!! Oh, and there is a pint of peanut butter and chocolate hagan daz waiting in the freezer for me.


I also went over to my moms house to watch the new Freaky Friday with her, my aunt and my grandma. It was fun.

Kirstenmumof3 replied: From my DH I recieved the Sopranos first season DVD box set, and from the 3 kids a light brown leather purse and a wallet (that I have to take back, it won't fit inside the purse), a pink rose from Emily and Spencer and a pink carnation from Claudia (the Daycare gave them to us at the Mothers Day tea) . At school Emily made me a placemat, it has a poem on the back and they laminated it. Spencer made me a dishtowel stamped with different shapes and a card with a poem. Both Emily and Spencer painted rocks for me for my flower garden and Emily made me a foam picture frame. At Daycare Claudia made me a votive holder out of a baby food jar, she covered it with tissue paper.

Edited to say that DH and the kids gave me breakfast in bed. Then this afternoon I went for brunch with my mom and sister.

KatieLeigh79 replied: Well the guys got me a die cutting machine and a set of letters to go with it as well as a pedicure, which was awsome (even though JR ruined the polish when I got home by throwing a toy at my foot) but its the thought that counts.

Then today they took me to lunch and out to my dads and the cemetary to visit my moms site with some really neat flowers he got for me to go out there with unexpectedly...

was a really nice day though He tried so hard to take care of me and JR wasn't to bad most the day which is abnormal so all in all it was a really nice day!

ediep replied: DH got me an amazing diamond and sapphire ring!! Its Jason's birthstone!! Jason got me a toddler seat for my bike! Can't wait to take him out riding!!We went to church, then to brunch, then over to my parents house to visit with my parents and sisters and briother and their families! Now, Jay is sleeping and DH went out o get us ice cream!

maestra replied: Dh and Jaci got me a 16 inch chocolate chip cookie from Mrs. Fields! Yum!

Last night at my moms, all the men did the cooking and cleaning and made us dinner.

Mom2Boyz replied: My Mom, Conner and I went and saw my nieces (her granddaughters) that I hadn't seen in over a year. They hadn't even met Conner yet, and they just adored him!!
When we got back, I got 6 red roses, 6 daisies, and a beautiful card from my Conner and my fiance. It was so cute, my fiance even signed Conners name all scribbly like a little kid would write I also got 10 tanning sessions, and Larry took me out for dinner tonight.
I'd have to say that it was an AWESOME 1st Mothers Day for me

MomToMany replied: After I posted this, the boys gave me another present. I got a clay vase from Logan that he made at school on the spinning wheel, which turned out really nice! He painted it all different colors. Quentin gave me a clay bowl he made out of clay, too. He did a great job with his, too. I LOVE the hand-made presents, they're the best !!!!




Jamison'smama, SO sorry about your MIL. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family! Lots of hugs for you!

juliajaj replied: We rotate Mother's Day every year with each family, so this year we went to my mom's, had a cook out, at tons of yummy food, came home & relaxed. Before that, Olivia & I went to church. DH, Olivia & I went to my favorite breakfast place (Egg Harbor Cafe) Saturday morning. DH & Olivia gave me the new Diana Krall CD, in honor of the new baby a new rose bush to plant in the front of our house (he gave me one for when Olivia was born, so now each baby has their own special rose bush). Olivia gave me the sweestest Mother's Day card that she "signed" in crayon.

Elle replied: Nat and the kids woke me up in the morning and brought me breakfast to bed (oooohh I love that!) Then they gave me the cutest presents Nathan got me a waffle iron (so now I have to make him waffles! ), Alexis wrote a poem for me, Juliet gave me a colourful picture frame she made at school (it has a picture of us in it) and Brighton gave me his best "momma & I" drawings (or doodles, as you please). At noon my sister, her DH and kids came over, and the guys made barbecue for lunch. All in all, we had an awesome day.
Oh, and I also got a Mother's Day card from Thomas & Georgia I'm sure their siblings helped them from the outside.

Boys r us replied: Well, I told Rick to be creative and I wouldn't give him any clues as to what I wanted, so like I said, I figured it would be a can opener or a hair dryer..LOL
BUT..He did GOOD! He made a coupon book for me! A nice one, he put sweet little pictures on each coupon and had it decorated all nice. The coupons were for things like:

Good for One Bubble bath with NO interuptions

Good for One night of love

Good For one night of doing the dishes

Good for One Dinner out to the restaurant of your choice

Good for whatever your heart desires

and so on...

I was pleased...he finally listened to me when I said...I don't need flowers or expensive jewelry..just something you took the time to come up with!

kimberley replied: we had a rough day woke up to Jacob puking all over the bathroom. he must have had the runs because there were 5 pairs of soiled underwear on the floor. DH cleaned up for me, so i guess that was my first present lol. had Jacob lie down for a little while then made him some soup to settle his tummy. he seemed okay. the boys gave me their presents they made at school. Jacob made me a beautiful card and gave me a coupon book. (help with baby, dishes, water plants, share treats) and James gave me a nice card he made, a greatest mom certificate and a vase with paper tissue flowers! it was so sweet . so we all got ready for church because Jacob was making his First Communion. all the kids came up from the hall downstairs at the beginning of the mass... minus Jacob. he was feeling sick again. spent most of the mass leaning on me saying his tummy hurt but he didn't need to use the washroom. he barely made it through the mass. all his pics are of him frowning. he said he was hungry so we went for lunch. we ended up leaving the restaurant halfway through dinner because he felt ill again. so we came home and he slept for a few hours. he ended up throwing up a bunch more times and laid around most of the day. Jamie and I did groceries then went for a nice walk with the baby. it was very relaxing and just what i needed. did a bit of gardening then came in to watch the survivor finale together.

The best gift DH gave me was a movie he made with pics of us and the kids. it is amazing how much they have changed! it was so beautiful it made me cry!! i love gifts that are thoughtful like that. i love DH!

Kaitlin'smom replied: Well lets see Friday my sitter gave me a framed poem with Kaitlin's picture.

sunday I slept in till 9:30 Kaitlin gave me a card, and then DH took us out to breakfast, then shopping at Kohls, wanted to used the rest of my gift card, then he paied for the rest, then off to Franks nursary to get his grandmother a nice hanging plant, and then her went to the rose bushes ( I had told him I wanted a new one since the other one died) he wanted me to pick it out, but actually he did, he saw one he liked and it is beautiful, it already has several large blooms on it, now we just have to plant it went home and then later went to dinner with his grandparents. Over all good day, Kaitlin was an so good all day, slept in took her nap with no problem and went to bed easy, evne slept through the night except when daddy accidently woke her up, but she went back to sleep easy.

My mother's Day pretty much SUCKED. Robbie had a friend sleep over the night before, and then he spent the morning here also, Robbie went to his house in the afternoon. He did give me a card/book he made at school though. I spent the day changing all the diapers, giving the baby all his meals, doing laundry and dishes, and giving the baby his bath after he smeared sweet potatoes on him head to toe. DH doesn't really believe in holidays and such. He did take me out to dinner though.

pinka_star replied: I didn't get anything for Mother's Day, which is ok I guess. My Mom sent me a card in the mail that made me cry, and DH got me a card. We went up to the mountains yesterday and had a BBQ which was fun. I guess I was just expecting too much, oh well.

coasterqueen replied: I got two cards, one from DH and one Kylie signed herself Kylie got me a beautiful yellow gold heart pendant necklace that has the word MOM in white gold with diamonds on each side. It's beautiful

DH got me a different chain for the necklace because I always hate the chains that come with necklaces, they are so flimsy and DD always yanks and breaks them. It's just as beautiful as the heart itself. And Dh got me a lighthouse plate rack and plates for our bedroom decor that I've been wanting for some time now. It's beautiful of course.

DH, Kylie and I went to McD's for breakfast. Kylie chose of course, lol. I was fine with it because she was just so excited to go there, lol. My parents took us out for a lunch buffet at our favorite italian restaurant. Later we all flew kites at my parents house which was fun.

It was a great day.

jen replied: Well I scored! Since it was my birthday too! Josh woke up and went and got me coffee and kolaches. I got a beautiful card from him and the Circle of Love husband and wife statue. From Maddy I got a card that looked like she signed it! LOL! and the Circle of Love Mother and Baby Picture Frame! I also got a SPA gift certificate

The circle of Love statues everyone has probably seen, they are white and intertwine and make a heart and have like two heads or a woman cradling a baby and makes a heart in between. I am collecting them, they are so neat!

jem0622 replied: I made breakfast for us (french toast and bacon) b/c DH had just come off of his graveyard shift. DH got me a clock radio w/ a CD player and a CD. It was what I wanted. And a bouquet of fuschia carnations. Cards from everyone. Then we went down to my in laws for dinner (steak, baked sweet potato, lots of veggies and other things, and a YUMMY chocolate cannoli cake from an italian bakery for dessert). My parents met us there. It was a nice day!

The only thing missing from that day was a nap! LOL

My2Beauties replied: From D(soon to be)H I got a cute little card "from Hanna and him" that said what a wonderful, intellifent, beautiful mother I was...awwww and $100! He said he went out to the mall for hours looking everywhere and nothing "caught his eye" so he gave me the money instead and I got a pair of tennis shoes and a pair of sandals to add to my shoe collection (I have hundreds) My mother got me a beautiful card and a keychain locket that I can put Hanna's picture in, it's so pretty and it has the breast cancer awareness emblem on the front of the locket. She also got me a Mother's Day 2004 small collector's plate that sits there for show, it came with a little stand and everything. My fiance's brother and SIL got me a wonderful smelling candle (a big one at that), and DSD-to-be got me an Angel statue to remind me "how wonderful I am" and a card with a kitten on the front that says I am purr-fect!!!! LOL! Then we all went out to the racetrack (good old Churchill Downs where they have the Kentucky Derby, Louisvillian here, we love the horses) they have a Mother's Day special out there and I hit a $27 trifecta then lost all that back. All in all I had a good mother's day except D(soon to be)H woke me up at 8:00 that morning with Hanna "flying" through the room and said Happy Mother's Day mom, sit her next to me, then brought me her diaper to be changed..... He stated his cereal was in the livingroom getting soggy so he had to hurry up and eat it...MEN! Oh well he made up for it!
