What could it be?

MoonMama wrote: I have a call into my doctor but I'm waiting for her to call back.

Yesterday and this morning I have been REALLY dizzy with a slight headache. I don't wake up this way. I start feeling this way as the moring progresses. I don't know what it could be. I know its not the computer because I'll start feeling this way long before I get on. I am eating enough and healthy foods, drinking enough etc. Any ideas what this could be? sad.gif sad.gif

redchief replied: Sounds like vertigo. It's a fairly common problem with the inner ear (where our balance comes from) and is often related to seasonal allergies.

MoonMama replied: So I just have to live with it? dry.gif

redchief replied:
No, keep your appointment with your doc. There are some very effective treatments, depending on determination of cause.

MoonMama replied: Thanks for the help. hug.gif thumb.gif

My doctor told me to lay with my head off of the edge of the bed for a minute or so and see if it doesn't let up. If it helps repeat it every 15 minute for an hour. blink.gif Um okay.

mckayleesmom replied: Maybe you have low iron count.

MoonMama replied:
I never even thought of that. sad.gif

But laying over the edge of the bed sure didn't help! wacko.gif wacko.gif

punkeemunkee'smom replied: Ally, I can't believe a doctor would tell you to lay with your head off the side of the bed wacko.gif blink.gif Don't do it again ok? emlaugh.gif How are your hands and feet? swollen at all? Do you feel tightness in them even if they don't look swollen? Are you seeing 'stars' sometimes blackdots or light flashes that will travel across your field of vision when you stand too quickly? Does your headache improve if you lay on your left side? The reason I am asking is because you may be exibiting the first signs of pre-eclampsia (toxemia or pregnancy induced high blood pressure) sad.gif Take it very easy until you see your doctor hug.gif Drink plenty of water and don't hang your head off the bed wacko.gif rolling_smile.gif

PrairieMom replied: what the heck kind of a DR do you see? good Grief! It could be your blood pressure. I say go to walmart and take it on one of those machines to make sure its normal

MoonMama replied:
Thanks Abbie. hug.gif No I don't have any of those signs. I guess maybe I'm letting my body get too hungry? blink.gif I'm not sure I mean I eat when I'm hungry simple logic right but I ate again and I feel a lot better. I also had a glass of juice so maybe blood sugar? unsure.gif I have a Dr. appointment tomorrow at 9am so I'll talk to her then about it.
I have no idea why she had me put my head over the edge of the bed, something about my ears and centering myself. blink.gif unsure.gif blink.gif
But I feel a lot better after eating. I guess I need to eat more during the day (right like I don't a ton of food now that I'm home all the time rolling_smile.gif)

mom2my2cuties replied: Ally,

I think the others have given you some good suggestions. To me it sounds like your blood pressure might be up a little bit. I am very sensitive to blood pressure issues, and when mine gets the slightest bit high, I start having problems with vertigo.

Hope your appointment goes well...Let us know what they say!

MoonMama replied:
unsure.gif unsure.gif sad.gif I really hope not I'll let you all know what I find out.

mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: Well since I've had two kids here in Colorado, it could be the altitude. I don't know how long you've lived here, but just imagine how much harder it is when you're PG! It could be a number of things though, so I would see another doctor and get some rest. Drink plenty of water, take an iron supplement and see if it goes away. I got dizzy a lot throughout my PG. Your lungs and heart are working overtime, so take lots of breaks if you can. hug.gif

MoonMama replied:
Thank you. hug.gif I've lived in Colorado my whole life, but you know I never even thought if that. rolleyes.gif And while I've lived here forever that could very well be true anyway. hug.gif
