What cartoons do your kids LOVE - that you find a bad influence??

mckayleesmom wrote: There are some shows that I don't like Mckaylee watching, but she LOVES....Mainly Cailou (sp?)...Mckaylee loves that show and so does Russell, but man does that child whine alot and Mckaylee starts to whine too...and he throws tantrums that she hasn't picked up on yet. I always tell Mckaylee that whining is against the law at our house rolling_smile.gif

luvmykids replied:
rolling_smile.gif lol I'll have to try that!

They like Scooby Doo but it gives them terrible nightmares, and I HATE Rugrats. And Colt is wanting to get into a lot of the older kids stuff with just too much violence. I don't even know how he knows what they are but he asks to watch them.

Kaitlin'smom replied: Kait liked that show for a short while till mommy could not find it on any more for that very reason he is way to winey.

I think I an annoyed with Max and Ruby where the heck are the parents?

punkeemunkee'smom replied: Cailou does whine alot...Tay never really liked it.We don't watch The Proud Family on Disney because they were talking about kissing a boy the other day(fine for older kids maybe but not the 4 year age range) and I am not fond of the way Penny Proud talks to/about her family.

mckayleesmom replied:
Im still trying to figure out where Emma and Max's parents are on Dragon Tales...their kids are in another land and they never wonder where they went? laugh.gif

Lexismama replied: I just gotta say you guys crack me up!! rolling_smile.gif I never really looked at those shows like that (alexis dosnt like them) but now that you mention it I do see it!

Kaitlin'smom replied:
oh ya I forgot aboutt hat show also, another one Kait only liked for a short time.

Maisy is also a bit anoying

MamaJAM replied: Most of the cartoons that we allow our kids to watch that others would consider a 'bad influence' -- we love almost as much as the kids - SpongeBob SquarePants and The Simpsons. The kids also like Rugrats and All Grown Up....they aren't my favorites - but they aren't that bad.

One show my boys like that I can not STAND is Max & Ruby....I just do not get that show. Though I don't see it as a 'bad influence' -- just annoying.

Insanemomof3 replied: I don't like the Simpsons. Barts attitude sucks and my boys have enough problems with respect towards me they don't need Bart's "help"

TeagansMom609 replied: Spongebob...defintely not a show for kids. I wont let Teagan watch it but DH does occasionally. dry.gif I dont like how they call each other stupid, etc.

C&K*s Mommie replied: I am with you on Caliou. dry.gif dry.gif That whining gets on my last nerve! mad.gif I usually click the tv off after Dora & Diego, but in the past they used to watch that after Barney.

Although only on occasion, the girls actually haved watched this next one, I think the show Fairly Odd Parents is bad, only because the older sister or something who is always babysitting the boy, calls him names. I do not want the girls to pick up on any of that. But they have seen it a few times

luvbug00 replied: I didn't like teletubies becuse it didn't promote speaking real words. and Ed and eddie becuase they just do gross stuff.

MamaJAM replied:
My younger girls (age 9 and {almost} 7) try to get away with watching that show...it bugs me. I try to keep it off...though sometimes if I'm making dinner I don't see that they are watching it until it's half way thorugh. dry.gif

3xsthefun replied: Kaitlynn likes to watch Rugrats & All Grown Up but she rarely gets to watch them. I don't guess they are that bad.

We watch Simpsons on the rare occasion. I don't like watch it anymore since I know it is not meant for young kids.

3_call_me_mama replied: There aren't any that they love that are bad influences, mostly because if i dont' approve of it they don't watch it. (I screen them before tehy get to watch them. Only things they get to watch on Disney are Littel Einsteins, Jo Jo and Stanley. Other than that they watch Noggin. Blues Clues, Franklin, Littel Bear, etc.

Oh actualyl i though of a show that Cameron really likes, loves, that I dont' liek and its' a mixed influence. It's Thomas teh Train. Those trains are very rude adn hurtful to others sometimes, but usually they end up workign it out.. I just think that sometimes he misses teh resolving and only sees teh mean/angry train. But he loves teh toy trains so we do let him occasionally watch A DVD of it but not too often. (Especially if he starts acting rude!!)

mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: You know, surprisingly, I don't like Sesame Street that much - not a cartoon, but close enough. I guess it's Elmo - he's always screaming at the top of his lungs IMO and sometimes the puppets are yelling at each other. Someone always intervenes and explains that yelling is bad, but it goes on too long sometimes and is very annoying IMO. I find myself on edge whenever it's on! growl.gif

Wil really only likes Barney and Tellitubbies at his age, so luckily those are all pretty soft and peaceful (for mommy).

Edward's Mommy replied: Well, Edward is only 7 months (7 months today) so I don't let him watch too much TV. But when he does, he watches Dragon Tales, Between the Lions, and Seasme Street. And if I need to entertain him while I'm cleaning, I put a Baby Einstien DVD in. But I don't really see anything wrong with them. We don't have cable, we have rabbit ears. He also watches All My Children and Days of Our Lives with me.

BAC'sMom replied: Fairly Odd Parents, Barney, Simpsons I could do without a few more!

Celestrina replied: I hate that my dh will let Ben watch the Simpsons with him. That show is waaaaaaaaay too mature for him. For anyone looking at my avi, I'm the one who watches Fairly Oddparents. Yes, I'm a dork.

PrairieMom replied:
I have never picked up on rudeness on Thomas. I know the troublesome trucks are mean, but Really, i HATE That dumb show so I tune it out. i will have to pay closer attention to it.

3_call_me_mama replied:
yeah we never noticed it at first. But after watching a few. There are some parts that are quite rude! The diesels are always mean to the steamies. Diesel 10 is scary and rude. Also they are always picking on the other engines and usually at teh end there is a lesson learned but the rude behavior is often more noticable than teh lesson. 9Maybe it's jsut teh video's that are that way and not the shows on PBS> cause we saw a PBS one today and it wasn't bad.. but some of teh videos are really rude. IMO
