What are you kids getting for xmas - speaking of toys.....
moped wrote: Jack has a mish mash of things for xmas - nothing major from us, but my parents got him the Smart Cycle. We got him a digital camera as a big brother gift. But xmas is Thomas stuff, cards stuff, etc........
YOu?
PrairieMom replied: The kids are getting a kitchenette to share between them, and Grandma got them a TON of food and accessories to go with it.
I Don't really know what else to get the kids, with the lead paint scare I'm scared to get them anything. I suppose Ben will get something ninja turtle-ish, and I was thinking of getting Al a baby stroller .
Calimama replied: I have no idea.
Kirstenmumof3 replied: We got Claudia a book with her name and Emily and Spencers name in it. We also got her a Baby Bratz bath doll that comes with a rubber ducky. For Emily and Spencer we used our Airmiles and got them movie passes and we had them adopt an animal from the World Wildlife Federation. Emily adopted a Snow Leopard and Spencer adopted a Sea Turtle. Not sure what else we are getting them.
Boo&BugsMom replied: Tanner wants that Smart Cycle, but I keep having to remind him that he is too old for it and WAY too big. He sat on it at Toys R Us and he looked like a giant! No Smart Cycle for him, although it looks really cool!
So far it's a mish mesh of things here too. Tanner has a Spiderman overnight bag, some games, aquadots, and a few Ben10 items. Aiden has some stacking cars, linking beads, and a couple other small things. I have no idea what I really want to get them. Tanner also wants Magnetics, which I'm contimplating.
momofone replied: two webkinz so far.............
moped replied: What are those aqua dots?????
stella6979 replied: We're not getting Avery anything. LOL! I know, I know, we're so mean. She's still so young and she already has so much stuff that I just can't fathom spending more money on things she'll play with once and never touch again. I have no doubt that the Grandparents will be spoiling her so she will have presents to open. And of course we'll get her one or two small things to open on Christmas morning, but we're not going all out.
gr33n3y3z replied: a few things to open but money as the main gift
moped replied: I agree - this is the first year we have really gotten much for Jack
And Layla won't get anything - I have spent a fortune on her already so that is it for her for this year!
Boo&BugsMom replied: They are little tiny plastic beads that you put in the "aqua dots pen". You sqeeze them out onto a template and then you spray it with water and the water "glues" the beads together. They have them at Walmart near the playdough. I got Tanner a small package of them because it looks like something he'll play with for a couple days, use the beads all up, then be done with it.
moped replied: So would jack be a bit too young still?
Do you use it with an aquadoodle mat - cause i have like 4 of those
My2Beauties replied: I really have no idea yet. Aubrey will only get a few things, she'll only be 7 months old, well close to 8 months but still. She'll probably get one big thing and maybe some clothes. Hanna will probably get a few smaller toys (dolls etc.) and maybe one big thing. I thought about getting her a karaoke machine, but when I really think about it, it's like do you really want that in your house?? We'll probably get Desiree some clothes and then just money.
lisar replied: Lexi is getting an art easel and all the accesories, a portable dvd player, some more games for her v-smile, a tether switch for her 4-wheeler (she wants to race it then its part of her x-mas present) a pink mohawk to go on top of her helmet, a new chest protector, and some clothes, new bed room stuff comforter, sheets, pillows, curtains, etc... (some of this is b-day cause her b-day is the 29th of this month not all of this is x-mas I just dont know which one will go for which) Oh and the barbie cash register she wants
Raygen: Clothes, Dora boots, a new power wheels 4-wheeler and I dont have a clue what else to get this child. I am still searching for things.
Bamamom replied: Tripp is getting a "Grow with me" basketball goal, a little T-Ball set, and a tricycle.
Katie is getting a doll, some books and puzzles, and some clothes. She's just so young that she doesn't really need anything you know?
Not sure who will get what but they are also getting The Jungle Book, Mulan, The Little Mermaid. We'll probably pick up some Thomas movies and maybe a few Elmo's a well.
Oh and they are each getting a Bible - a real one, not the story book kind.
coasterqueen replied: Joint gifts - Fisher Price grow puppy, mini trampoline, some games
Megan - clothes, pj's, easel, jewelry box, earrings
Kylie - clothes, pj's, Fisher Price Art Studio for the computer, jewerly box, charm bracelet and charms
I'm not sure what else they will get and what they will get from others.
Boo&BugsMom replied: I recently got Tanner the Discovery Bible for kids. It's really good! I also got him some tabs to go between the chapters for easy finding.
HuskerMom replied: My dad got Keith a Little Touch Leap Pad for his birthday, the one where you can put in different books so we're going to get him a few more books for it. And Dh's uncle sold us they're Power Wheels corvette. It's about half the size of a real power wheels so it'll fit him good. He may not get to use it much til spring bc it might be a little old for him though. We're going to paint it up for him and put Dh's racecar number on it.
mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: Those who said art easel, BEST gift ever! We got one for Wil for his last birthday and he uses it ALL the time. Makes me feel good that he is doing something productive and creative.
I really haven't thought about what to get the boys yet. I'm a late shopper. The kitchen (to share) has been on my mind, because they love going through my armoire where I keep candles and small knick knacks, but I'm not sure I want to deal with all the little parts, food, etc. We already have enough little things. The other idea was one of those shaker car race tracks...I can't remember the name, but you shake the cars and they go!
DH wants to get Wil a sled, but I really don't think he is ready. I was thinking today as we were at the zoo, maybe a small pet..........scary thought, but just like a couple fish. They both would love that!
DVFlyer replied: Chloe is getting a bike. On sale at Toys-R-Us and we had a $10 off coupon! Wahoo. Cheap! Not sure about Keian, yet. He's not really old enough to understand yet, but he'll get something.
boyohboyohboy replied: andrew is getting nothing from us, but his grandma is getting him that fisherprice jumperoo i wanted...he is going to love that.
jake is getting a large tool bench with tools..he is going to go nuts. and hopefully be occupied for hours..thats what we sold that kitchen set for. to make room
he is also getting a locks and latch box.
caleb is getting a computer chair, and the super heros, ninja turtles van and also this imatrex pirate ship.
i have no idea yet what we are getting for stocking stuffers.
still thinking of something for dh
Cece00 replied: Funny you should ask, as DH and I finished up 90% of the kids shopping yesterday afternoon.
Jack is just getting like 3 toys- some LP stuff & I cant remember what the other one was right now, and some clothes.
Natalie is getting a play guitar (as she is forever trying to play with DH's guitar), a chair I am painting & decorating for her (so she can have her own chair in the playroom), some dolls & doll stuff, a play cash register (the old one from when I was a kid...remember those? I think FP makes them...anyway, they make them again & I looked for one last yr for weeks & couldnt find one...), and a TON of dress up stuff (dresses, jewelry, shoes, etc).
The boys are getting some tool for a workbench they are getting from family, gamboy advances, new games for those (probably 2 each), puzzles, some transformers, some computer games, pokemon, some games for the VSMILE and some board games...
All of them get smaller toys/candy/toothbrushes/underwear/socks in their stockings, and they each get a pair of Christmas pajamas every year on Christmas Eve.
This is going pretty light for us, esp for Jack. I used to buy the kids soo much as babies & they never remember so I went light this year. My kids get so much from relatives (esp my mother) that they are usually overloaded with toys every year so we're going a little lighter this year.
luvmykids replied: I don't know, we're going light this year too because everyone else goes overboard.
Colt will probably get a roping dummy and I don't know what else.
Kylie, something geared towards art, maybe an easel, maybe some good paints and brushes.
Macie, I have no idea.
They'll also probably get a computer game. We talked about getting the Wii for Nikka but I don't know if we will.
MotherForever2043 replied: Amber- Another Webkinz, DDR, and maybe a Barbie Laptop(toy version of course)
Esther- Pink Nano ipod (Thats it! She's got her sweet sixteen in July!
Jordan- Walker, and a few small little toys (like block and color rings)
Cooper- New clothes and a new rain jacket, and some new chew toys
Myself( )- I've been saving for these for a LONG time....
First Second Third
My3LilMonkeys replied: You mean I should be thinking about Christmas already??
Calimama replied: Nice to know I'm not alone.
Brias3 replied: Neither of you are alone. I've been doing fantastic at gifts for others, but for the kids I'm at a total loss. Usually its the reverse. I hate to say this, but I feel like my kids have EVERYTHING these days. I really don't know where it comes from. They get so much from others, that I'm going to really try and go light this year.
I've already gotten all three clothes, pajamas and necessity type stuff. I've picked up some new movies (for stockings) and some books/computer/Gameboy games, a Webkinz for each of them, and Bears jerseys (Mason was growing out of his and I got Aliyah a pink one!), and the electronic Monopoly for Ryan. I'll have to think of a main gift for each of them- Bruce and I have to talk about that/shop for it very soon.
I love the holidays but I'm already feeling the stress!
MoonMama replied: I have no idea.
Jamison'smama replied: So far, Jamison has a Disney Snow Globe, a princess projector drawing thing, I'm getting her the Disney MP3 Stick thing, a tea table for the Our Generation dolls. I haven't found the Wow Santa gift yet
Jack is getting the Imaginext Pirate ship, some Imaginext Dinosaurs, the wow gift is the Smart Cycle (Jama will like it too) and I have no idea what else.
I am thinking about the big Fur Real Parrot for someone but not sure yet.
If anyone needs a toy for a 2 1/2 year old + boy (well, girls would like it too I'm sure) --I suggest the Imaginext castle. Jack loves it and the "castle guys". He has everything and plays with it everyday and he's had it since Easter--it just doesn't get old. Jama likes playing with it with him too--great toy to play with an older sibling since some of the things are a little harder to do--loading the cannon, turning the guys to open the drawbridge etc.
punkeemunkee'smom replied: So far Taylor is getting The Pink Leapster L-max, 3 games to play with it,Leapster pink backpack to tote it around in The Jungle Book DVD,Strawberry Shortcake Dance DVD,Arthur and the Invisibles DVD, Highschool Musical 2 Cd, Disney cd clip player,Highschool Musical clip cd for it,My Very Own Fairy Tale book with her name in it, Teddy Bear Factory,3 extra baby bears,2 bears with furniture to stuff, Dora Saves the Mermaids DVD, a raincoat and another pair of rainboots, tickets to Highschool Musical on Ice and tickets to Cinderella Ballet and Nutcracker in the beginning of December...So far that is it. I have to sneak things here and there because she is always with me when we are shopping. She will get a few more things she has asked for and of course clothes and stocking stuffers
I forgot I bought her some beautiful books at Costco but I am not sure I will be able to hold out on those-they are so pretty I want to show them to her
3xsthefun replied: I'm not really sure yet. I don't really plan on buying many toys for the kids this year. They already have so much stuff.
I do know I want to get Ryan the Amazing Animals Musical Activity Barnyard
Maegan wants the Dora Magical Castle.
Kaitlynn hasn't really said what she wants yet.
They will mostly likely get one big gift, few small gifts and some clothes.
MommyToAshley replied: I have no clue what to get Ashley. She will be donating a lot of her toys this year, we have way too much stuff. Plus, with all the toy recalls, I am almost afraid to buy anything.
I know I am getting her the HS Musical CD (the music CD, she already has the DVD), and I am debating whether to get her the dolls or not.
jcc64 replied: Corey has the High School Musical dolls, Dee Dee. She's got Troy, Gabriella, and Sharpay. They are the singing versions, and while she absolutely LOVES them, everyone else in my family wants to burn them in the fireplace. Not sure how many other 5 yos have ipods, but Corey just inherited her big brother's Shuffle, and she uses it constantly. The boys put all the music from both High School Musicals, and some other random stuff like Fergie, onto it, and she takes it wherever she goes. Makes long car rides infinitely more tolerable.
luvmykids replied: Kylie wants one SO bad, I wish they had a kids version.
holley79 replied: We are getting Annika a kitchen as her big gift for Christmas and a bounce house as her big gift for her birthday.
moped replied: Bounce house is super cool!
holley79 replied: It's the one that can be flipped up and made into a fort also. I thought that was super cute. Not to mention she would much rather be outside anyway.
Bamamom replied: I'll have to check that one out - thanks!!!
moped replied: You spoiled Floridians being able to play outside all year long......LOL
Bamamom replied: Can you post a link? Sounds like something Tripp might like for his B-day. Doesn't it suck to have to think about Christmas and Bday all at the same time? Tripp's is Jan 10th.
mummy2girls replied: a kids digital camera, doll stuff, a new doll, clothes, dress up stuff, crafts galore, and some educational toy of some kind. Marcus wants to get jenna that buttercup pony from walmart but i said no way because its too big and i have no room for it...
holley79 replied: Annika's is Dec 28th! Oh yes it's so much fun to have to think of both. Not to mention I have my mom's birthday on the 14th of Dec and my FIL's on the 4th of Jan.
I found this as an alternative to buying the expensive play houses:
Little Tykes inflatable house
Jump- O- Lene it's only $40.00.
A&A'smommy replied: ohhh goodness I have yet to do ANY christmas shopping or planning.. i have SOO many people to buy for its unreal I have only done a little planning for alyssa
holley79 replied: With the adults because there are so many on DH and my's side of the families we are drawing names.
Bamamom replied: Very cool - I think he's getting the Jump-o-lene - Thanks!!!!!
holley79 replied: I really like the Jump O Lene! I figure it's something her and the neighbors girls can enjoy! Not to mention it's small enough to bring inside if I want to.
Kaitlin'smom replied: not a clue. I have not even thought about christmas for anyone, let alone Kaitlin. I really have no modivation to shop for anything. I know she needs clothes, and has asked for a couple things, however until her room is cleaned out I wont want to get anything. We simply dont have room.
moped replied: Jack is getting the Fisher Price Tough digital as a big brother gift from his sister when she arrives.
