What a long, scary weekend - in 2 different hospitals
TeagansMom609 wrote: Well Friday Teagan started throwing up constantly. I took her to her Dr. that day and he told me to give her some Pedialyte. Well she didnt want that, or anything else and she just kept getting sick. So that night I had to take her to the ER for dehydration. They gave her some fluids, and a suppository for nausea and sent us home. Well she kepy throwing up through the night and still wouldnt drink anything. So then Saturday night she was lathargic (spelled right?) and had a 104 fever, was shaking, had diarrhea, and still wasnt drinking anything. So I rushed her to the ER again where they gave her fluids again and they then said she needs to be admitted to a hospital that has a pediatric ward. So they gave me 2 choices. The one was 15 min away, the other was 40. So I picked the closest. Well big mistake, the place was horrible! Old, and run down. We got there by ambulance and didnt get into her room until 4 am. Then she started with REAL BAD diarrhea to the point that her sheets and hospital gown would have to be changed everytime she went. Her fever kept getting high, it was a scary mess. She just laid there lifeless. Well now shes better thank God, and were home. It amazing how all that got packed into one little weekend.
As a first time mom, and it being her first time ever sick I was scared to death. I hope she never gets sick again.
ediep replied: OMG!!!!! how scary!!! Poor Teagan!!!I am so glad that she is getting better. Don't be suprised if the diarreah lasts for days.... That happened to Jason when he was about 17 months old. It was the worst 3 days of my life, I was so scared.

My2Beauties replied: I'm so sorry you had to go through that...poor thing and poor Teagan! I hope she is feeling a lot better now. That virus is going around and I mean bad, it's awful! Hanna had diarrhea and vomiting for 5 days, it was terrible. She is just now getting her huge appetite back, she lost a whole pound which to me is a lot for a baby! ~~~Get well very quick vibes~~~ coming Teagan's way!
MomToMany replied: Poor Teagan!! That is the scariest thing a mom can go through!

Boys r us replied: Oh bless your heart Kelly! I am so sorry that Teagan was that sick..poor little doll, but also sorry that as a mom you had to sit there helpless, unable to fix her..I know what a horrible feeling that is!
I hope that she is feeling better today!
TeagansMom609 replied: They took a sample of her stool and later diagnosed it as Rotavirus.
TeagansMom609 replied: We took her to Mercer Hospital in Trenton. (Capitol Health System) But we had the choice of taking her to Robert Wood Johnson in New Brunswick but decided not to go there because Mercer was closer. (big mistake!) My MIL really wanted me to go to Robert Wood in New Brunswick because she works there and knows all the Ped Dr.'s...I should have listened. (hehe... dont tell her I said that!)
