What? What'd you say? Huh?
MommyToAshley wrote: Ashley has formed a habit of asking one of these three questions after someone says something. At first I was getting concerned about her hearing, thinking that maybe she really didn't hear us. But, I noticed after repeating the sentence, she would ask "what?" again. So, I would repeat it again, and she would ask "what?" again. If I didn't repeat it, then she would answer or acknoledge... so I know she heard me. It's a game she's been playing. She does it to everyone, not just us. I think it has become a habit as well as a game. I no longer repeat myself when she does this. Any ideas how to break this habit? It's driving me nuts!

when you find the answer, let me know becasue Jason has an equally annoying habit..... Jason asks me a million times a day "mommy, where did Daddy go?" I say "Daddy is at work." Then he asks me again.....and again, and again
I finally started saying "I don't know, you tell me?" and he says "At work!" Then he staops for a few minutes. But he starts again.
i think he says it for something to say, not because he is actually wondering where daddy is. Maybe Ashley is saying it just for something to say too.
MissyKay2005 replied: I think not repeating your self will help in the long run. May take sometime but most likely will grow out of it.
MommyToAshley replied: I bet you are right. Although Ashlely usually doesn't ask the same questions over again, she will ask questions that I know she knows the answer. I will do the same thing you did and ask her the question back and she will answer. I bet you are right and they do it for something to say... she talks ALL day long so I am sure she runs out of things to say!
Kaitlin'smom replied: I can so see her doing this. thankfully Kait does not do this (yet) she will sometimes ask somethign she did a few hours before. She was on the why kick for a bit, I am so glad that did not last long.
so she is back to the same Ashley now, I remeber you said she came back a bit spoiled from MIL
MommyToAshley replied: She is pretty much back to her old self. It took about three or four days. I am beginning to wonder if it really was a result of her being spoiled though. MIL admits to spoiling her, but the thing I find odd is that she was acting out and having nightmares when we returned. Both stopped after three or four days. I think it might have been a result of the fact that we left her for three days. She had never been away from us that long. MIL said she didn't cry for us though, she just asked where we were and when we were coming back. Who knows we may never know for sure how their little minds work.
Kaitlin'smom replied: glad she is pretty much back her to adorable self
Insanemomof3 replied: LOL she will just grow out of it. Tristan did that for about a month...(I know a long time. hehe) then just quit doing it. LOL
amynicole21 replied: Sophia does this too! It is so annoying I have no idea how to break the habit, but I keep telling her "I know you heard me" and she ends up answering the question or repeating what I said to her word for word.
luvbug00 replied: Mya does this too and it drives me bonkers ( My blog gets grafic on how bonkers) I tell her once and maybe twice but after that I say go and think about it . She does and five min. later comes back and tells me what i told her. AHHH KIds!!
Catherine's Mommy replied: It's a phase. Try to ignore it & Ashley will eventually stop.
Josie83 replied: That sounds annoying!! i don't have any advice for you because Cassie doesn't do that.
But, Edie!! Cassie's favourite question!! Drives me up the WALL!! xx
A&A'smommy replied: OH noo that sounds really annoying!!! Kids lol they come up with some funny stuff!! She is such a SMART girl!!
ian'smommy replied: You just described Ian exactly! He does the very same thing...
DansMom replied: It must be the age. Daniel is always asking "what's that sound?", and he keeps asking even after I've answered the question 5 times!
