What I have learned at work. - This is heart breaking.

Human Trafficking:

** Est 70% of vic are female.
** Florida is #1 in the US for HT.
The instructor told us today you can probably find about 70% of our missing explorited children under the age of 12 in China as prostitues.
** Yields an estimated 9 billion a year
** After drugs trafficking, human trafficking is the most lucrative business for organized crime.
** Unlike drugs and arms traffickers, human traffickers can exploit their victims after the initial point of sale.
** Becoming a preferred business for criminal syndicates around the world.
How sad is this?
Yes my job has it's benefits and freaking heartbreaks. Today was very heartbreaking because we learned there are 3 possible brothels in our little county. Not to mention reading some of these "survial" stories of HT victims is just such an eye opener. The 8 stories I read were all young girls from age of 10 to 17 from other countries. They agreed to come to the US because these A- holes told them all the money they could make working in resturants and hotels and could send the money home to their families. They were so excited to have the oppurtunity to come to the US, the Land Of The Free. They have been beatened, raped and their identities stripped of them. I could not even imagine. These girls will never be the same!

I am glad people can do your job despite the heartbreaks. I sure couldn't.
Kirstenmumof3 replied: OMG that is so sad! I'm am shocked at the numbers, it's just, I don't know shocking! And hearing about the missing children being turned into prostitutes in China, that just makes me sick! Those poor people, they're human beings! This is just the saddest thing I've heard!
amynicole21 replied: God, that's awful. I wonder why FL has such a high rate?
holley79 replied: There are a lot of immigration camps in FL where migrate workers are working and they take the girls to a trailer there and are used for the workers. The other aspect of HT is they go to homeless shelters in S FL and gather up black males who are in decent shape, addicted to drugs between the ages of 18 and 25 to put them to work for crack parties on the weekends. Not all HT is for prostitution but majority. Also the State of FL has so many open water ways it is a great way to "smuggle" in the product.
Danalana replied: It's so sad...I have watched a couple of movies about it, so I'm not really that shocked, except for the actual numbers.
holley79 replied: I have watched plenty on it also but was shocked by the numbers as well. Unfortunately till will be like out "war on drugs" till will never be beat.
My2Beauties replied: That is so sad.
