We're going house hunting

MyBrownEyedBoy wrote: Here is the house Aaron and I are debating putting an offer on. We only started looking Monday, but this house is ideal. Against a hill and abuts over 2 acres of Federal land, so no one will be building in back of us. And the front overlooks the valley.

moped replied: It is gorgeous!!!!

I hope you put in an offer

Calimama replied: The jetted garden style tub and 9ft ceilings sold me! It's very pretty and it sounds like it's awesome inside!! Good luck!!! thumb.gif

MyBrownEyedBoy replied: Me, too. This one will go fast. We've put together the offer, we're just not sure if we want to commit to it. This happened so fast. Like I said, we only just started looking on Sunday. Cripes. But it's gorgeous inside too. Lists at $237,700

Calimama replied:
ohmy.gif ohmy.gif What a great price!! That wouldn't buy you anything in CA!! I'm so jealous! What state are you in?

MyBrownEyedBoy replied: Idaho. I know we'd get nothing like this in CA for that price. Gotta love lower cost of living.

gr33n3y3z replied:
blink.gif blink.gif wow I would be all over that great price

Calimama replied:
Makes me hate California a little more. dry.gif Prices out here are ridiculous, and it's not ANY different from anywhere else. rolleyes.gif We will def. not be buying anything here.

luvmykids replied: It's gorgeous, I love it being set against the hill! If you go for it, good luck and KUP!

moped replied: What a deal at 237,000!!

Our Lil' Family replied: Wow, thats NICE!!!! Good luck!

Maddie&EthansMom replied: WOW!!! Kelly that's awesome!! What a beautiful home thumb.gif

I hope you guys get it. *fingers crossed*

MyBrownEyedBoy replied: Well, we both kind of realized that we've only just started looking and decided against putting the offer in. So probably the home owners are looking at another offer right now and we've just let it slide. However, Aaron's got connections in the contracting industry and he thinks we can build one just like it, maybe better, for about 220,000. So, factoring in buying a lot with say $25,000, we can get the same house on more land for just a bit more money.

lovemy2 replied: Isn't house hunting soo hard - it is such a big committment and you have to really go with your head and your gut...KUP and hang in there you will get your dream house wink.gif

punkeemunkee'smom replied: To me the land is what is worth so much...not just money but privacy and space. If I was looking to spend $250,000 I would probably spend $150,000 on land and go for $100,000 house instead of the other way around...Of course here you can get an amazing piece of land and a home for those prices wink.gif

Maddie&EthansMom replied:
Yeah, same here.

Well, good luck. It's always best not to make an offer on the first home you look at. I wish we would have looked more.

You'll find a great home soon!! That's just so awesome that it's in the cards for you guys and you are considering it. thumb.gif

A&A'smommy replied: its gorgeous!!!! Good luck!!!

ediep replied: wow!!! what an awesome price!! here in central jersey thta house would be closer to 750,000

good luck!!

we close on our nre house in 2 days!

MommyToAshley replied: Beautiful home. I love the house and the quiet setting, but I agree that I would probably look around a bit more. Just curious as I don't know much about that area, but do they have problems with the houses at the bottom of the hills flooding? We have a couple of areas near us that the banks require the houses to carry flood insurance for this very reason. But, I think it has a lot to do with the type of ground here.

CantWait replied: I think it's a great house, beautiful and if it's right for you guys, why not put an offer in. It's a great price.

mom21kid2dogs replied: thumb.gif Good Luck!!! Looks like a really nice house. Is it new construction? We only looked at 3 house (less than a week) before we bought this one 20+ years ago. We're still in love with it today!

hoosier momma replied: Great house, but I agree with you about more land.

MyBrownEyedBoy replied:
With the amount of rain we get here, probably not. But the house is already landscaped with French drains to alleviate any potentian flooding issues.

grapfruit replied:
Goodness! For that amount of money you could probably buy enough land that you wouldn't be able to SEE your neighbors! LoL!

Kelly that house looks huge! thumb.gif Good luck w/whatever you guys choose!

MommyToAshley replied:
Ah, that makes sense. Like I said, I was just curious and didn't know much about your area. I love the house and the beautiful setting. Good luck and let us know whatever you decide... and of course we will want pics!

Boo&BugsMom replied:
Just looking at it sold me! laugh.gif

It's gorgeous! I'm so jealous. blush.gif I hope you do put an offer in. I totally would!

stella6979 replied: Wow! What a gorgeous house and that price is fantastic! You wouldn't find anything like that for that price here in Michigan either. I think it's time for us to move. biggrin.gif

Boo&BugsMom replied:
WOW! That's it?!?!?! That house would be well over $400,000 here. And I thought our price of living was pretty low.

coasterqueen replied:
I, personally, would go this route because you can custom everything that way. You can build the house to your satisfaction. thumb.gif GL with whatever you choose to do. hug.gif
