Well the party is over - A sucess I guess

The kids unwrapped their gifts. They got: those weebles things some blocks, clothes, a new cd of baby hits for the car and naptime, a few brainy baby and baby einstien videos, a load of clothes, a few misc annoying toys I asked people not to bring but oh well, a BUNCH of b ooks including some really great ones with lift up flaps and those DK ones that have the different textures? I'll find the titles and writ ethem down and post them later.Same with the dvds if I have time. They unwrapped some of it, then got bored. Clara was in a lousy mood she hates strangers. Luckily she was a sunshiney girl for a while when most everyone was gone.

They made a mess out of the cake but Clara hated it- at least at first and wouldn't eat that much.

I did get kinda pissed at tav's family. For one they kept asking why they didn't walk and why clara didn't crawl and how small they were and how bad tempered they were and how I was spoiling them because I picked them both up when they cried and took them away from people who were holding them and making them cry. They didn't want to listen to me either. I kept saying, they're afraid of strangers, they don't like them. Please don't pick them up (to the littler kids) because they're little and I don't want them dropped (which often happens when I let the little kids pack them around). But I'd set em down and they'd run over and pick em up. I finally ended up putting them both in a pack and play so they could be left alone! Like I really need a list of my kid's faults... but oh well that's her family for ya!

I'll post pics either tonight tommrow or monday . Nobody's ever here on the weekened. Anyway if y'all want I can post.

Alice replied: How on earth can people complain about babies??? And not walking yet... are they kidding?? Most kids start somewhere in the neighborhood of their 1st birthday, not on the day of the party.

As far as removing the twins from the "holders" you did the right thing. People tend to forget that babies are real people who object to being handled like a football.

Post the pictures when you get the chance. In the meantime, run up and see how Tav is doing, OK?

loveydad replied: She came downstairs when almost everyone had left, to visit with the few remaining people who stayed just to see her and to visit with us. My ex and her mom left for the night to go out to have real food before her mother dies of malnutrition (rolling eyes).

She's feeling better. I'm gonna show her the video probably tommrow. I feel bad she didn't get to see it in person. I hate bedrest!!

I gave her a big old hug and kiss with the promise I'll do whatever she wants for Brooklyn's 1st.

loveydad replied: She'll be back, but I think she's leaving tommrow morning. She's got a plane ticket for then anyway. WOOHOO!

yeah she signed the papers a couple days ago.

Sounds like they were pretty spoiled little babies and that's how it should be! You did a very good thing throwing this party for those babies!

ediep replied: sounds like a nice party! About the family complaining about not walking....grrrr, that is so obnoxous ! Jason didn't walk until he was 14 months!! Sorry Tavia couldn't be there, that must have been hard on you. Such good news about the twins mom signing the papers! Congrats!!

How dare her family make comments about the babies when this is practically the first time that they've had anything to do with them That is so RUDE. You and Tav are doing a great job. I don't care if Clara never crawls - I don't care if she doesn't start walking till shes 15-16 months. They're my kids!
