Well, I'm gonna try it - Proactive
PrairieMom wrote: I finally bucked up and ordered proactive. I thought I would give it a go once this baby is born. I've heard good things about it, I hope it works for me. Anyone out there have expereiance with it? Also, it keeps comming in the mail every couple months, anyone know how to cancel it if I want to? is it difficult? (They don't mention THAT part on their website!)
C&K*s Mommie replied: I have never used it before, but I wish you all the best with it.
moped replied: Yes, I used it for about a year...dont expect instant results but if you are faithful it will work after 3 months you should see a difference.................good luck!
PrairieMom replied: did you have a hard time cancelling it?
kit_kats_mom replied: I'm not sure about Proactive. Are you getting it for adult acne? If so, try to talk to your dermatologist. I got two perscriptoins (one for nighttime use and one for daytime use, the daytime is Differen Gel) and I've been using them for about 3 weeks. I can already see a difference. My face is smooth as can be, remaining spots are fading at a rapid rate. It's AMAZING and frankly I'm ticked that I didn't do this sooner. For the first week my face did burn for awhile after I put the meds on. Then it peeled pretty bad and was dry. Also around the second week, I actually broke out horribly. All of the stuff that was just under the surface came out. Now my face is as smooth as a baby butt. LOL
Kaitlin'smom replied: I use Acne Free, very similar to Pro-Active, but I can buy it at my local drug store and it cost less. As long as I use it on a reg basis I stay clear.
boyohboyohboy replied: Iused it some time ago, it worked fairly well, but then I cancelled it , you just had to call and cancel, it was easy, then years later tried it again, to see if maybe I needed to just use it longer, but still didnt end up keeping it. I use neutrogena now, it works well for me...... I think that the hormones have changed between kids! good luck.
PrairieMom replied: Yeah, I used to see a dermatologist for about 4 years, but nothing they did really seemed to help. I was on differen for a long time, ( quit when I got PG) but it didn't help. I was also on clindagel and minocycline. Nothing really has made a difference. i am sick of paying for a Dr. to do nothing, so thought I would give this a try. I don't really think this is going to work for me either, but thought I would at least try it.
Heather77 replied: I tried it a few years ago. It DID clear up blemishes, but it ALSO gave me a nice red burning rash on my face. I have very sensitive skin, so I wasn't surprised. I've heard a lot of people say it worked for them... I just wasn't one of them . When I cancelled, I just called the 1-800 #... it was easy.
Good luck with it!
luvmykids replied: I LOVE PROACTIVE! It is the only thing that works for me, and I've used it all, including accutane. I noticed a difference in about 3 days, and got the peak after about a month. I highly reccomend their mask, it's the key IMHO.
Hope you love it as much as I do!
mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: I'm the same Tara! I've been to dermatologist after dermatologist, paying them mucho bucks to have little to no results. I'm tired of paying for expensive prescriptions too. So I would definitely give Proactiv a try! My sister, who has very similar skin as I do (melasma and lots of bumps) just bought it for the first time and she emailed me all excited that it IS working for her! So I may give it a try too once baby comes.
Let me know how it goes!
moped replied: I didn't buy it on line - I bought it at a mall kiosk, that way you get it right away and no memberships....also the shopping channel sells it
