Well I'm going home... - My Grandfather has been put on Hospice..

We got a call from My Dad while we were at the mall that my Grandfather is on Hospice. I was planning to go home with her this weekend anyway because it seems like the cancer is taking him quickly. Now Hospice is giving him maybe 2 weeks. So at the moment we will be flying out of here on Sunday. We were able to get on the same plane and by some stroke of luck seats right by my Mom. My brother Billy is heading home right now to be with my Dad and my Mom is just beside herself at the moment. I am so very sad right now because the last time I talked to my grandfather he asked me when I would be coming home and that he couldn't wait to see Jade again. I keep playing that converstaion over and over in my mind. I will keep everyone posted on the situation. Thanks everyone.

As far as I know he's alert. My dad stayed with him most of yesterday. We haven't heard from him yet today. I plan on taking the kids with me. He really does need to see them. Then last night we get a phonecall that my Mom's dad is in the hospital. He has an infection in his lungs and is on antibiotics. My Mom says that he's all right for the moment. I don't think I will be able to handle losing all of my grandparents at once. Cancer is not my friend. It took my Mom's Mom when she was only 60 years old and now it's taking my grandfather. I was only 13 when my grandmother died. There is some comfort in all of this though. My grandmother loved cardinals. It always seems that My Mom and I see one when times are tough and we always say that it's my grandma looking out for us. Well on Weds. after my Mom told me I would probably need to come home I looked out the back door and there were 3 big red cradinals sitting out there. I have not seen a cardinal since I left Hawaii. I know it might sound weird, but to me that's a message from my grandmother that everything is going to be all right. Thank you everyone for the p&pts. I feel so blessed to have all of you and your support.
