Well I had an interesting weekend - And some odd comments

TANNER'S MOM wrote: A parent from Tanner's school came to the party and she asked me how much weight I had lost.. I told her close to 75lbs. She said well Mel, I wondered if you were ill? I said do I look ill? I said nope not sick.. I was just FAT! She said well don't loose no more.. don't you just love that advice. I think I will decide when to loose more..lol

But I will say this. I have no idea what size I am. I have a mirror image thing going on. When I look in the mirror I see the fat Mel. I had no clean clothes this weekend cause I have been to sick to do laundry! I found a T shirt to wear yesterday and I thought where did this come from. I have never seen it before. I wore it around a bit..and Tanner said.. Mom can you ask before you wear my clothes. That's how little I am. I can wear my 8 year's shirt. Of course he is a big boy he wears a 10-12 boys. But that really suprises me...lol

Maybe I do look ill!

I get that from people too. Lately they've been commenting on how great I look now that I lost most of my baby weight and I say "thanks, but I still have about 10 pounds more to go". They reply with "OMG you will look so sickly if you do that" and my response is "well I was 10 pounds lighter before I had Miss Megan and you didn't think I looked bad then!".

MyLuvBugs replied: You definately don't look ill sweetie. Well, you were sick this week, but I don't think that's what she was talking about. You've lost a ton of weight, and you should be proud of it!! I've noticed that the people that say things like that are usually the people that are also trying to loose weight, but can't get it right. I think you look marvelous sweetie!! Keep up the good work.

My3LilMonkeys replied: I get comments like this too and I'm not nearly as close to a good weight as you are - I've got at least 30 lbs. to go yet and I get ppl at work telling me the wind will knock me over if I lose that much. The PP are right - it seems like those comments mostly come from people who would like to lose weight themselves.


Congrats on wearing Tanners shirt - that must have felt great!!

jem0622 replied: When my husband dropped 50 lbs everyone asked if he was sick. They really worried about him! But his cholesterol dropped (SUPER DUPER) and I thought he was fine (I saw him without clothes and he wasn't bony! LOL LOL).

Sorry that she gave you a complex! I think you look fabulous! I do think that once you meet your goal then just maintain!

Don't worry about it and the next time you see her ask if she is Ok and when she asks why just tell her you were worried she was ill-she looks so bloated and pale!

ITA. I'm glad you were able to take it as a compliment but IMO it's completely rude to comment on someones weight wether they're heavy or thin unless you have something nice to say.
