Well I discovered why they do it - I still don't understand

Well I was saying how every night when they get home they pull into the driveway and honk, then she gets out and goes inside, then he parks and he goes inside. I had assumed they had just lost it. Well I was talking to Dh about it and the reason they do it he said is to tease their annoying yappy little dog. I still don't understand. Besides their dog barks at everything anyway why do they have to antagonize it!

msoulz replied: Hmm . . . are you sure they are antagonizing the dog and not trying to "warn" it that they are home? Perhaps it yaps more if they just walk in, or pees on the floor because it is upset or something.
Yeah, I'd like to think this is the case . . . perhaps too optimistic?
redchief replied: Maybe for the more insidious joy of annoying you?
msoulz replied: LOL, maybe they are driving up wondering "why are the neighbors always looking at us when we get home?"
HuskerMom replied: Maybe!
HuskerMom replied: I really don't care if it pees on the floor when they come in. I'm sure we're not the only ones in the neighborhood who are irritated that they do this. Besides if the dog needs a warning when they get home then maybe it's too high strung anyway.
